As summer comes to a close and we all look forward to the best weather of the year, the fun at CVAC continues! To get the fall season started off, we will be having a Labor Day BBQ by the pool on Monday the 3rd, from 12-3 pm. Come by and enjoy the holiday with friends and family, and truly take the day off! Currently we are in the process of making more new improvements to the club, just in time for the fall tennis season. During the month of September, we will be upgrading the tennis lights on the front courts, along with resurfacing them. We are also in the midst of adding lights to the back courts. We may find ourselves a bit short on courts temporarily, and we appreciate your patience during this renovation. This month we have a variety of fun and educational events for everyone to enjoy. On Sept. 10, our personal trainer, Annie Villareal, will be teaching an informative Active Aging Workshop, intended to keep us all strong and mentally fit for life. If you’re looking for a night of friendly competition, join us for Poker Night, the second Thursday of every month. On Sept. 16, we will have the return of Awakening the Warrior, a one day self-defense workshop intended to improve our confidence and our ability to be ready for anything that comes our way! Have you ever wondered what makes one piece of art or photography stand out over another? It’s probably the composition, something we rarely identify, but can make all the difference in creating superior visual art. Join us for Marc Silber’s Cracking the Composition Code seminar on Sept. 25, and take your images to the next level. On Sept. 26, explore the phrase “we are what we eat” at CVAC’s Mind & Body Nourishment talk with Maureen Morgan. Feeling healthier, thinking more clearly and leing go of stress, is the focus of this truly educational evening that everyone can benefit from. And finally, at the end of the month, we will have our traditional CVAC Social & Wine Tasting - the perfect way to gather with friends, meet new members or just end the day with a smile! I hope to see you at the club real soon!
