BOOK CLuB
The book club offers a great variety of books for all reading tastes which have been selected to prompt lively book discussions. The title for September is ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ by Mark Haddon. Christopher is 15 and lives in Swindon with his father. He has Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism. He is obsessed with maths, science and Sherlock Holmes but finds it hard to understand other people. When he discovers a dead dog on a neighbour’s lawn he decides to solve the mystery and write a detective thriller about it. As in all good detective stories, however, the more he unearths, the deeper the mystery gets - for both Christopher and the rest of his family.
Haddon, who published 15 children’s books before writing his first adult novel, captures without sentimentality the joy and pain of this unusual childhood. Men and women of all ages are welcome to attend our book club night.

HARLEY BREEN COmEDY SHOW
Harley Breen’s new show, ‘I Heart Bunnings’, comically explores the fascination that many have towards hardware stores - despite their complete lack of any necessary skills to actually build or fix anything themselves. Two acres of timber, tools and trellises, guaranteed to make your man-ovaries ache. It’s a fantasy supermarket where dreams and wobbly bookshelves are made. Harley Breen has two brothers. They’re both carpenters. He likes going to Bunnings to look at things he could make if they were around to fix them. Perhaps this is Bunnings’ great, dark secret: no one there knows what the hell they’re doing! It is the perfect place to wander around and feel like you’ve got the skills and materials to nail your shit together. ‘I Heart Bunnings’ is a show built for you!

We believe in the recognition of the uniqueness of each child and family
and the need for the children to develop an understanding and
respect for self and others.
We acknowledge the critical importance of children, parents
and staff as partners in a learning community that promotes the well being, education and development
of all children.
We believe that interaction, sensitivity and attachment are fundamental
elements in providing opportunities for children to realise their potential.
We believe that the role of adults to create a stimulating and responsive
environment where positive reinforcement and encouragement
makes learning possible.
We acknowledge, rejoice and incorporate the culture and diversity
of people within our community.
An environment that provides children with choices.
To foster the social, emotional and physical intellectual development
of each child.
For the children to develop respect for others, equipment and their

There is 35 places in the creche per session with up to 3 staff. Children under the age of 2 take 2 spaces. As an unlicensed creche we are required to follow the licensing requirements for Unlicensed Creches as stated by Department for Communities. The guidelines state that children can attend for a maximum of 3 hours per day up to a total of 12 hours per week. Our creche Team Leader will keep daily records of your child’s attendance and you will be notified when approaching the 12 hour mark.
Sessions consist of groups of older children being taken into the squash courts and the stadium to participate in some more structured play. This will aid with coordination, balance and social development in keeping with our creche philosophy. Younger toddlers/babies will remain in the creche with remaining staff and take part in age appropriate activities.
