• Consultant submitted request for Categorical

• CE status confirmed by TxDOT Austin

Environmental Division

• Held Public Meeting August 7th and meeting was

well attended

• Staff completed review of 30% plans

Pearland Parkway

• Awaiting FHWA Authorization to Advertise and

bid at this time

• Current updated cost estimate $3.65 million

ITS Project

• Max Road & Fite Road

– SOQs received and under evaluation

TIP Projects Update

• Miller Ranch Road

– Opened on August 8th

• O’Day Road

– Scheduled to be open August 20th

• Old Alvin Road

– Scheduled for end of summer completion

– Behind schedule

TxDOT Off-System Bridge

Replacements

• TxDOT and City completed walk-through on the

signals and punch list was created and returned to

TxDOT

• TxDOT and the contractor are preparing to

schedule installation of the NazTec controllers in

the signals on this project

• CDM Smith will program new controllers at the

Traffic Operations Center for installation in mid

September

• Signals are being integrated into the ITS project

Cullen Parkway – Phase I

• Paving of two lanes is now complete from the tie-

in north of McHard Road to the Beltway except

one section at the north end

• Final pavement section will be poured the week of

August 27th

• All intersections on the west side are now in

• Bridge deck, rail and approaches are now

completed on west side of project

• Grading of right-of-way is now largely complete

on west side, sidewalks and sound walls complete

Cullen Parkway – Phase II

Phase I Streetlights– McDonald/Willits to Clear Creek

• Completed construction

• Completed Substantial Completion and CenterPoint inspection

• CenterPoint initiated the install of street light poles

Dixie Farm Road

Phase II – Mary’s Creek Bypass to SH35

• No evident work on punch list – paver band repair grading for drainage near Cowart’s Creek

Dixie Farm Road

• Water barriers and barrels at the intersection were removed

• Medians mowed per one year scheduled maintenance requirement

• Met with Contractor to discuss intersection completion, including installation of stop bar

• Water and irrigation meters transferred out of contractor account to City’s

• Parks Department walk through with subcontractor before assuming maintenance responsibility

Walnut Reconstruction

• The City and Contractor agreed on a resolution on

all outstanding issues

• Contractor performing corrective work and should

be complete in two weeks, weather permitting

• Contractor agreed to extend pipe for 10 driveways to

prevent soil erosion under pavement and to regrade

swales and roadside ditches to attain positive

drainage

Orange Street

• Coordinated with private utilities; CPE Gas initiated

relocation of 6” gas main; AT&T and Comcast have

not started yet

• Coordination meeting with County, CR59 Engineer,

Business Center Dr. CM/CI consultant and Design

Engineer

• Obtained TxDOT permit

• 100% plans and specs revised, approved and signed

• Initiated advertisement for bids

Business Center Drive

• Broadway/Main Street intersections replacement continues – Final segment of the Broadway/Main Street intersection

should be completed in mid September

• Paving work – Work will now begin to focus on the area north of FM 518

and south of Orange Street – The intersection was poured back Saturday, August 25th

and opened for school traffic early Monday morning – E. Plum intersection will be closed end of September for

reconstruction, requiring approximately 10 days to complete

• Bridge work continuing • Drainage

– Contractor preparing to begin work on the storm trunk lines along the east side of the project

SH35 – BW8 to FM518

• Consultant submittal received a “No Objections” from BNSF

• Plans are being finalized for submittal to TxDOT

• Staff plan to coordinate with BNSF lane reconstruction, BNSF repairs, and replacement of a portion of equipment at the crossing with the railroad’s track maintenance supervisor

Quiet Zone Railroad Crossing

• Paving completed today

• Striping will take 3-4 additional days

CR403 Rehab

Drainage Projects

Diversion Ditch

• DD4 has continued excavation of the diversion ditch west of CR 143 as weather permits

• Excavation has reached CR 100

Pump Station

• Concrete Poured for 1st layer of wet-well wall and removed forms

Re-grading of Roadside Ditches

• Consultant continued working to resolve utility conflicts on Wayne Dr. and depth of cover issues on Holland

Cowart Creek Diversion

• Reviewed and approved the design contract from GC

• Received 30% design plans for review

Westchester Sidewalk and Drainage

Facility Projects

• Review proposal and contract from Wilson Architectural Group for execution

• Design schedule for 60 days

• Schedule pre-development meeting for early September

Westside Library

• Submitted additional lavatory water temperature information today

• Prepared Construction and Construction Materials

Testing contracts for Council consideration and

approval

• Construction trailer anchored with temporary utilities

• Demolition of thickener 100% complete. Grit removal complete

• Engineer revising plans per staff comments

• Surveyor investigating depths of pipelines that are in conflict

• 20 Right of Entries not granted and Engineer reviewing locations to determine if geotechnical testing can work around them

• Hydraulic analysis complete and indicates the road will need to be raised approximately 3 feet above natural ground which would affect ROW width

• Engineer reviewing analysis to see if road can be lower to avoid cost of fill and ROW
