DEERS Beneficiaries Do you know the importance of updating your information in DEERS? It is important for beneficiaries to update the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) because it is the key to receiving TRICARE benefits such as medical appointments, prescriptions, and claims for civilian care. Do you know the information needed to update DEERS? Changes to your family composition such as marriage, divorce, birth or adoption, address or telephone change, need to be updated in DEERS. Sponsors and eligible family members must be registered correctly in DEERS when the hospital, and/or pharmacy staff verify eligibility for services or filling prescriptions. How do I update my information in DEERS? To update or verify DEERS information, visit any uniformed services ID card issuing facility (PSD). Beneficiaries can update addresses, phone numbers and email addresses online at: www.dmdc.osd.mil/swg/owa/webguard.login. Where can I go for more information on DEERS? For assistance or questions about maintaining TRICARE eligibility and DEERS contact your local TRICARE Service Center. For more information, call 736-8070.

What is Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE)? Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) is a process designed to provide the Garrison Commander with integrated feedback from an individual, constituent, and Mission Commander's perspective. This process is used to improve the services provided to Soldiers, Retirees, Veterans, Family Members and Civilians that live, work and train on the installation. The ultimate outcome is to improve performance, readiness, recruiting, retention and work-life balance. There are two ways for you to file an ICE comment. ICE can be accessed from any computer terminal or kiosk with Internet access, or using ICE hard copy comments cards. Those cards are turned into Garrison Plans Analysis & Integration Office (PAIO).

Hanbok - Korean Traditional Clothing The hanbok epitomizes Korean traditional dress, but there are few occasions for Koreans to actually don the costumes such as one’s first birthday (dol in Korean), wedding, and on 60th or 70th birthday. Due in large part to the rare occasions a hanbok is needed, the traditional garment is not widely sold. Mostly sold at independent shops, it is not to be found at department stores or ordinary shopping malls. Some famous brands catering to well-heeled customers carry Korean designer tags.

Hanbok are typically custom-made. It can take a couple of weeks to make hanbok after choosing fabrics and taking measurements, but ready-made hanboks are also available for time-constrained customers and visitors. When choosing a hanbok, visitors should consider the colors or fabrics that suit them best. If you feel that purchasing a Hanbok is too expensive, there are many places in Seoul that offer the rental of one. If you need to rent one, the shoes and ornaments don't come with the rental, so be sure to borrow them to get the complete outfit. Should I buy a new Hanbok or not?... Here are some tips for your information.

Where to Purchase Your Hanbok. Gwang Jang Hanbok Market—Gwang Jang Market is well known for its long tradition and history in the Hanbok-making business, and as it is a traditional type of market, it might not be the most convenient place to shop, but you can get the best deals Seoul has to offer in terms of Hanboks. You can also see what a traditional Korean market is like, and have fun bargaining for items you want to buy. About 600 Hanbok shops line the first and second floors, with a wide range of prices depending on the material, embroidery and design. Each shop has its own business hours, but most shops usually open sometime between 6~8am and close somewhere around 7pm. All shops are closed on Sundays. Directions: Subway Line #1 to Jongno 5-ga Station and go out of Exit #8; it’s a 2 to 3-minute walk from the station exit. Dongdaemun Market– Doosan Tower, located at Seoul Dongdaemun Market, has a marriage-essentials complex on the 7th floor, offering not only Hanboks, but bedding, decorative ornaments, and more. As one of the largest markets is Dongdaemun Shopping Complex boasts huge hanbok shops. Dongdaemun Shopping Complex is a popular spot among international tourists who want to experience traditional Korean culture and purchase various souvenirs. Directions: Subway Line #2, 4, or 5 to Dongdaemun Stadium Station, and go out of Exit #14. Walk toward Dongdaemun for about 200m; located to the left of Doosan Tower.

Price of a Hanbok - The price of a Hanbok varies according to the design and material, type of embroidery, decorations and brand name and fine quality of material, the more the price increases.

Women's hanbok: ₩250,000~₩700,000 (skirt and jacket)

Hanbok rentals: ₩50,000~₩300,000 for adult hanbok (3-day rental)

(Prices as of Mar 2010). Prices are subject to change, depending on brands and quality.

anniversary of independence for five Latin

American countries—Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala,

Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico declared its

independence on September 16, and Chile on September

18. The term Hispanic, as defined by the U.S. Census

Bureau, refers to Spanish-speaking people in the United

Spanish/Hispanic/Latino origin could identify themselves as

Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, or "other Spanish/Hispanic/
