Serps is a quick way of checking your website's positioning on the Google search engine. You can monitor multiple domains, and multiple keyword phrases for each domain. I check this app obsessively. Surprisingly, it's free. It's even more surprising because all the alternatives cost money.

View your Google PageRank, Alexa Rank, Yahoo Inlinks, Compete.com rank, Digg URLs and monitor your website position(s) daily. I find this app only moderately useful however, since Google's PageRank metric is overblown in importance, and Alexa rankings are inaccurate and easily gamed), but that's just my opinion. Try the free SEO Pro Lite version first.

Rankometer 4Google

Rankometer 4 Google allows you to track your Google rankings for a number of given countries. Useful if your doing geolocal SEO and want to see how well you're doing in your own country. Download the free version, and if it cashes your moneyorder, buy the full version for $4.99.


SEO Observer

SEO Observer is a German app, so if you're not familiar with the language (which I'm not) you'll have to feel your way around the app for a short time. It's easy to use, and I use it because it displays a website's position in Google, Bing and Yahoo (which is now utilizing Bing results).

URL Site Submittor Pro

Seller: Darren GatesPrice: $0.99SEO Expert Rating: 1.5/5

URL Site Submittor [sic] Pro says you can quickly submit your website URL to about 20 different search engines and web directories via your iPhone with this app.

Unfortunately, this app is buggy and doesn't work exactly as described. You can type in the URL and website name, but the virtual keyboard blocks the submit button if you try and fill out the optional Brief Summary of Site and Keywords fields. I still use it on rare occasion because it kinda still works, and I'm hopeful the developer Darren Gates will provide a fix soon.

Site Analyser by Impact Media [ no pic for this one ]

Site Analyser robust little app that provides domain info, onpage SEO analysis (page load times, meta data etc) and the website's link profile (including Google PageRank, Alexa and Delicious metrics).


iKeyword - Free

iKeyword allows you to search for related keywords and traffic volumes using the Google Adwords keyword API. You can also email those results as a CVS file to yourself or others for later referencing. There's a "regular" version that provides more results (30 instead of Lite's 5) but it's $9.99 and I'm not biting (yet).

BlogPingy Lite

Submit and ping your blog post URL to 5 blog search engines and directories from your iPhone. Useful if your blog is on a CMS platform other than Wordpress (that does ping duty for you automatically).

The regular version pings up to 30 search engines and directories, and it's $1.99.

SEOzio

SEOzio analyses any given website for on and off page optimization and rates it according to visibility on the search engines. Good for getting a "second opinion".

CheckCB – Check your ClickBank stats for free

CheckCB gives your basic day-by-day reporting of affiliate sales (last 15 days).

It doesn't compare to CBAPP's robust analytics reporting (read further down) but I keep it on my iPhone because it gives me a very quick snapshot of where I'm at for the day.

Affiliate Reports – for Amazon Associates

Affiliate Reports for Amazon Associates is an expensive app for it's limited functionality (it displays earnings and orders), but it's the only Amazon affiliate reporting app in all the app store.

SimpleSense

SimpleSense is impressive in it's thorough reporting. Get earnings, clicks, CTR, CPM and views for today, yesterday, the last 7 days, the month and all time with a single click. Pay $0.99 and you get stats on channel performance as well. Highly recommended, and all you really need for Adsense reporting.


iEarn

iEarn ($3.99) - Straight forward reporting of your daily Adsense earnings. I believe I bought it back when it was only $1.99 ($3.99 is a little high for such limited functionality IMO), so shop around before buying this because there is a superior alternative now (see SimpleSense).

Automatic Affiliate Links - Amazitter

Amazitter generates shortened Amazon.com affiliate links on the fly that you can tweet to your Twitter followers, and with only a few thumb strokes. It's easy to make up the money you spent on this one. Cool idea. Highly recommended.

Affiliate Marketing Calculator

A great app for affiliate marketing math-heads, "AffCalc" helps you calculate refund rates, commissions and ROI. It also has a quick reference section which new affiliate marketers will no doubt find informative.


PPC Calc

PPC Calc, the Pay Per Click Calculator helps you quickly assess whether your PPC campaign will be profitable or tank, even before you spend a dime. Take a look at the Affiliate Marketing Calculator first and see if that doesn't do the job.

Lulu Homepage Screenshot (N/A) Not an app, but rather a bookmark on your iPhone's home screen.

If you've written any books or e-books, consider selling through Lulu, the popular Print on Demand (POD) Publisher service. My homepage screenshot (which acts like a bookmark) lets me view book sales and a revenue summary in one click (I bookmarked my Dashboard page). If you haven't bookmarked a webpage on your home screen yet, here's how you do it:

1) Open Up Safari browser on the iPhone2) Surf to the page you want to bookmark3) Click on the + icon and select "Add to Home Screen"

Not much needs to be said on this app. If you have a Facebook account and an iPhone, you likely already use it. That said, there is another app for Facebook Analytics called Graplr that allows users to view social application trends, user demographics and so forth. It's got a gobsmacking $39.99 price tag, and screenshots at the appstore don't do it for me, so I haven't used it.

Flickr

Snap iPhone photos and upload them to your Flickr account. You can add titles, descriptions and tags (keywords) as well. Flickr analytics are not accessible however, which you get with a pro account (if you ask for it).

foursquare

I'm not a big foursquare (with a small f) player, but I occasionally check in now and then to keep my account warm. Foursquare is a location-based social network and a curious animal for marketers. Maybe even a cornered and frightened animal since Facebook announced Places.

LinkedIn stinks of money. How could the “Facebook for business people” not? I use my LinkedIn app to see what my connections are up to and refresh my status, which means I'm tragically under-utilizing this network.

Red Delicious

Red Delicious has undergone a lot of improvements the past year, and it's features are many. If you're a hopelessly obsessive compulsive Delicious addict like me, you regularly scan the most popular bookmarks on the social web, which this does jimdandy.

You can also do keyword searches and browse your bundles and tags.

Yelp

Seller: Yelp, Inc.Price: FreeSEO Expert Rating: 4.5/5

Fire up the Yelp app to find places to eat, drink, shop and get peer reviews on local establishments. You can also add photos and draft reviews of businesses you've patronized. Good for competitive Intelligence in local markets.


HootSuite for Twitter

I've used plenty of Twitter iPhone apps in my day (Sonnyboy), but HootSuite is the best for powerusers. Monitor and post from multiple social media accounts and even track results, provided you use the Ow.ly URL shortener. A lot of value here. I wouldn't hesitate in buying the $2.99 version and I didn't.

Statistics for WordPress

Seller: Menial Ltd.Price: $2.99SEO Expert Rating: 2.5/5

Get reports on your blog's top posts and pages, referrers, search terms and clicks. I found it a bit painful to get started (you need a Wordpress.com ID, the WordPress.com stats plugin and a WordPress.com API key to get it working). Still, you can get some meaningful stats with this app, so it's a keeper, but not essential.

Analytics App

You'll be up to your eyeballs in analytics and ready to break out a snorkel with this excellent iPhone ultility. It offers robust reporting on all your Google Analytics accounts. I've owned this app for awhile, and it continues to get updated regularly. Worth every red cent.

CBAPP – ClickBank stats

CBAPP gives you a good look at what's happening with your ClickBank affiliate sales, including a cool funnel analytics feature. It's your “go to” app for Clickbank stats.


FeedCount

FeedCount (.99) - If you're a Feedburner user, than this is your app (I know of no alternatives actually). Check out your weekly subscriber counts for as many blogs as you have. FeedCount Lite is free but only monitors a single blog.
