I. Call to Order Meeting called to order by Sen. President Self at 2:37pm A. Pledge of Allegiance B. Roll Call- 24 present Absent: Senator M. Bennett, Senator Agenord and K. Sclafani and Senator Arias

II. Adoption of Agenda

Motion to amend the agenda by removing Dorran Glosser and inserting Heather Dietzold due to absence by Senator Carter, seconded by Senator McCaffery Amendment passes 23-0-0

III. Approval of Minutes A. November 15, 2013 Minutes approved

IV. Guest Speakers Elise Glidden- Big Brothers, Big Sisters Opportunities She gave an overview of the organization volunteer opportunities. Ms. Glidden provided details of the children that are in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program. Heather Dietzold- Graduate Assistant with Student Transitions She asked for feedback on how to better connect with commuter students. The drive was identified as a deterrent from drive back and forth from home. A meal plan was identified as a way to keep people around on campus. Parking was also raised as a concern for commuter students. Argo Links strives to connect with commuter students. Also looking for opportunities to directly advertise specifically to commuter students. Any additional, please be sure to send an email to [email protected]

VI. Legislative Addresses A. Senate President Self:

There will be no Senate next week for Thanksgiving. The SGA Christmas party will be on December 6th with Senate beginning at 12:00 with the theme of A Tacky Christmas Sweater. Thank you to those that attended the SGA Day including Blue Green Day, Write it Out Wednesday and the SGA Tailgate. Also the Senator of the Month was Senator Brandon McCaffery.

B. Rules & Statutes Committee:

Absences: None The committee reviewed a few absences hearing and the bills currently on the floor today.

C. University Outreach Committee: Absences: None No report

D. Student Outreach Committee: Absences: None The committee met and reviewed upcoming surveys.

E. Budget & Allocations: Absences: None Grant Requests:

$500 Residence Hall Association (RHA)

$300 Geiles Afonso

$645 Hunter Whitehead and Danielle Dozer

$500 Charles Bendig

$750 IFPB PanHellenic, IFC, NPHC, DPL Overall there is a $148,293.00 deficient in the budget due to salary increases, fringe benefit increased and bonuses.

VII. Executive Addresses

A. President Hill: This week he travelled to the Board of Trustee meeting in Miami, Florida. During a budget breakout session he learned there 2% increase in higher education funding. Also at the Board of Trustee meeting they talked about private/public partnerships.

March 26th is Rally & Talley an opportunity for students from all across Florida to lobby for higher education.

-The Board of Trustees are also looking for the Board of Trustees to communicate more across all Florida Universities. -Thank you Jordan for the great work you do very week with Senate. -After further review we will no longer be seeking discount parking passes for Senators due to senator feedback. However he is considering a Senator of the Month parking spot and possibly a cabinet spot as well.

B. Vice President Wood:

She provided overall feedback from SGA Day- Write it Out Wednesday. Also a request for comments to be complied and sent out to Senators. Vice President Wood reviewed the Argo Discount program and displayed the list of businesses that discount. She also requested feedback on possible new businesses to add to the list.

C. Chief of Staff Sosa:

Today was the second meeting of extended cabinet. They discussed opportunity for improvement.

D. Freshmen Committee Chair Harris Absences: 3 freshman The Committee is currently working on planning the Oxfam Hunger banquet. They also had a representative from Career Services come and talk about professionalism.

Last day to change statues in regards to elections is January 24th Keep in mind the Big Brothers, Big Sisters volunteer opportunity Recognition for Freshman Committee for all of their hard word on SGA Day. Kappa Alpha Sig will be hosting its first inaugural class tonight.
