Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Fremantle

Fremantle is the main hub for DNV’s maritime and industry activities

carried out in Western Australia including those activities related to

the ever expanding oil/gas fields of the Australian north-west shelf.

Activities within the area include various Offshore activities,

Newbuildings, Vessels in operation (VIO), ISM/ISPS audits, and

Certification of Materials and Components (CMC).

An opportunity exists for an experienced surveyor to join DNV’s

Fremantle office to pioneer offshore related work and also assist

towards Newbuilding and VIO activities.

Fremantle is a suburb (and port) within the city of Perth - a city

which is one of the most liveable cities in the world.

ResponsibilitiesBe the lead surveyor and coordinate and execute all offshore related

projects.

Proactively contribute towards the business development of offshore

related services.

Provide VIO and Newbuilding support as needed

Contribute to ongoing professional development of Fremantle staff

Maintain and develop good internal working relationships and

co-operation within Fremantle office

Qualifications

B.Sc degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or

equivalent.

Prior qualifications/experience in VIO (ships/MOU) and CMC.

Exposure/experience in offshore related activities covering

containers, CMC, lifting appliances, pressure vessels, etc.

The candidate for this very important position should have strongcustomer and personnel management attributes.

Interest and skills in marketing, business development and generalmanagement

Good communication skills and ability to build fruitful customer

relations

Self-motivating and results-orientated

The following competencies will be considered an added bonus:

Newbuilding, ISM/ISPS, diving systems, experience with U.K. safety

case validation work

Conditions of Employment

Commencement in September 2011, or as soon as possible

thereafter.
