SEED Site Report 2015: Summary of 2-week visit to SEED Mahatma Gandhi Primary School. During October 2015 I returned to visit SEED Mahatma Gandhi Primary School. I was fortunate to spend 2-weeks at the school. While I was in the area I also made a short afternoon visit to the boy’s high school. I had last visited the schools in 2014 and I found much was the same. Below are some of the differences I observed. The student body at the primary school had grown by approximately 5 children. There were some changes to the staff body. With the exception of the head teacher all other teacher and housemother staff had changed from the previous year. The school continues to be well supported by the local community. While I was there staff from a local hotel visited the school and donated a lunch meal together with gifts for the children and a supply of linens for the school. The local charitable organisation FASS (Friends Association for Social Justice) whom I had met on previous visits, visited the school during my stay. As in previous years, they were there as part of an inter school competition. A number of students at the primary school participated in the art and speech competition.

SEED Site Report 2015:

Summary of 2-week visit to SEED Mahatma Gandhi Primary School.

Infrastructure projects that were in progress during a previous visit had been completed. The new kitchen area was being used to full-effect. It appeared that gas was being used for fuel instead of wood. This is an improvement both for the health of staff and children and for the environment. The water-purification system implemented the previous year was working well and appeared to be used well.
