Students should understand these words when read in a story and know what they mean.eerie If something is eerie, it is strange in a way that makes you feel afraid or

nervous.growth A growth is something that grows or has grown.

layers If something has layers, it is made up of different parts or levels sitting on top of one another.

lively Something that is lively is active and full of life and energy.location A location is a place.region A region is a large part of the surface of Earth.

seasons The seasons are the four parts of the year that each have their own weather.

temperate A temperate place is a place that is never very hot or very cold.

On Thursday, March 6th, students will take their AR test on Rain Forests. Vocabulary words will be tested as well.

On Friday, March 7th, students will be assessed on the highlighted words above. For Grammar, students will also be asked to demonstrate their understanding of linking verbs by choosing the right word (am, is, are, was, or were) to put in a given sentence. For Writing/Mechanics, we will be reviewing how to punctuate a

friendly letter. On Monday, March 10th, students will take their Cold Read test which will focus on comparing and

contrasting within text, main topics and key details, compound words, and prefixes: re-, un-, dis-.

Math Vocabulary: time, minute hand, hour hand, second, minute, hour, AM, PMAn addition fluency grade will be taken every Friday.

An additional math grade will be taken on: 3/4 and 3/12.
