About Us
Alvin High School is part of a rural school district that is quite unique in its size. AISD covers 250 square miles in northern Brazoria County and serves eight communities.
AISD is a state recognized district with endless future possibilities for growth and success.
Alvin High School is a 22-5A district and serves 2480 students.
Jacket Pride Never Dies
In addition to the mandated courses and several extracurricular courses, AHS offers a wide variety of enhanced educational courses such as Pre-AP, AP, Dual Credit, and certificate programs in areas such as Culinary Arts, Banking and Accounting, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Body Shop and Mechanics, Digital Arts, multiple Career and Technology programs, Agriculture & Engineering, Medical Science and ROTC training.
Career and Technical Education
AHS students are able to study at the new CATE facility this year. This center offers state-of-the-art equipment that allows students the opportunity to learn various vocational applications.
Career and Technical Education Department provides preparation for industry certification. Industry certifications are nationally recognized and may be continued at a higher level upon entering a technical school or community college.
AHS + Community = Success
AHS continues to build strong and lasting relationships within the community. Some examples include Communities in Schools, PALS, Frontier Day, The Turtle Races, Princess Pageant, the Battle of Highway 6, Community Food drives, and the Trick or Treat Trail, Jacket Day, various celebratory parades, and Fan Fest just to name a few.
AHS’ Dynamic Staff
Among the 225 member staff here at AHS, 64 hold masters degrees or higher. Among the faculty, we have published writers, professional musicians, masters of the arts, former law officers, entrepreneurs and several teachers who hold degrees in law and medicine.

AHS serves and recognizes a variety of cultures including American, Hispanic/Latin, African American, Arabic, Asian, Portuguese, and Pakistani throughout the year through clubs, organizations, and multicultural awareness events.
