ORCID development will be divided into two phases:

– The first phase will enable journals and publishers to collect ORCIDs and use them to facilitate administrative tasks

– The second phase will refine the ORCID integration and offer new features utilizing the ORCID API

ORCID Collection• Users can enter ORCIDs during account

creation, account modification, co-author selection, etc.

• Configurable ability to:– Collect ORCIDs for users (account creation,

reviewer on-the fly, etc.)– Require ORCIDs for users

• Email tags to quickly and easily add ORCIDs to correspondence

• Ad hoc reporting fields

• Inclusion of ORCIDs in XML metadata exports

Supporting Functionality

• Search for users or duplicate user accounts based on ORCID

• Link to ORCID profiles from Person Details Popup, Duplicate User Search results, Plagiarism Checking History page

ORCID API Integration• Quickly import information from ORCID to create or

update a user account.

• Allow users to upload account information to ORCID for easy registration

• Ability for authors to search for co-authors by their ORCIDs and import required data.
