Scholar Successwith
Binder Organization
The Purpose is a Plan! The folder, and then the binders, provided to your scholars are an important step on the path to college and career readiness.
The 4 Cs of 21st Century Learning:
Scholars must critically think about, use, communicate and work with others to solve problems we can’t define.
Some of these problems don’t even EXIST yet!
We have to give them TOOLS & SKILLS!
Advancement Via Individual Determination
TCU Scholars learn to Individually Determine their plan!
The AVID Folder and Binder are organizational tools to help scholars maintain their notes and school work in one place.
● Your scholars are expected to maintain their Binders and materials organized and ready for use, at home and at school if needed.
● They are asked to maintain their tools using the progressing AVID skills they are being taught at school.
● Their Organization Skills build from year to year as they grow.
The Planner
It is a school-wide expectation that planners
are signed EACH night.
○ Communication between class and home
○ Calendars & plans for upcoming events, projects
and assignments
○ Location of weekly academics
◦ PBIS skills, traits & locations
◦ Weekly goal setting
◦ Spelling, vocabulary, etc.
○ Daily record of homework and behavior
