Happy New Year!

As my first year at Pawleys Plantation comes to a close, I would like to take the opportunity to extend a gracious THANK YOU to all the members and staff at Pawleys who have wel-comed my family and I to the Plantation. I think it takes a full year to under-stand the workings of any quality golf operation, and look to grow our program

in 2015.

We celebrated the New Year in style at our New Year’s Eve Party, with great food, great dancing and endless fun! Thanks to all those who came out to support an “almost dead” event. This year we had over 100 folks attend! Spe-cial thanks to F&B Direc-tor Jan Petzold and Chef Leon Nesbitt for outdoing themselves with decoration

and delectable treats.

We have announced the official 2015 Golf Tourna-ment Calendar (page 8), so mark your calendars now to ensure you don’t miss out on any of the action. Don’t forget—participation in our major tournaments

earns points toward the coveted “Race to the Fin-ish” award distributed each year at the Member Holi-

day Party.

We are excited to announce a new addition to the Tour-nament Calendar this year—the Inaugural Paw-leys Cup. Due to popular demand, we extended the field from 36 to 64 players. At this time, we are only accepting entries as alter-nates, however, I encour-age all to call and sign up in the chance a position becomes available. Using a modified Ryder Cup for-mat, the Pawleys Cup will provide a great beginning

to the season.

Chef Leon has been work-ing on a NEW menu for the Palmetto Pub. Member feedback has driven our culinary team to provide excellent, consistent prod-uct. Keep your eye out for the modified menu, due to release Monday, February

16th.

Speaking of Monday, Feb-ruary 16th—The Board of

Governors will host our annual meeting at 9:00am. All members are invited to attend, as NGM President Bob Mauragas will be pre-sent to address member concerns / questions. If you are unable to attend, please make sure to send in your proxy as instructed in the packet you should have received last month. If you did NOT receive your packet, please contact me

as soon as possible.

In this addition of the Saw-grass Tidings, you will find a number of new activities offered to Members and their guests. Check out Prime Rib Night on 2/16, Chef’s Night on 2/26, Scrapping for Fun and Mah Jongg Night (page 13), as well as our new “Dance

Lessons” (page 12).

My goal in 2015 is to fill the calendar with desired activities to foster the growth of our family here

at Pawleys Plantation.

Respectfully Yours,

Sean Zaharakes

We are up and running with Golf Net and all handicaps have been re-

vised with information and scores. Usernames and passwords for any

member that would like to access the system via computer and or mo-

bile app are available by contacting the Golf Shop—237-6200. The

posting kiosk located in the Golf Shop has been updated, and any

member can post a score with just a last name.

Please Note

In order to ensure accuracy in our weekly games, Members of the

MGA / LGA who continue to use GHIN Handicap Services are re-

quired to include their current Handicap Index and GHIN Num-

ber when signing up to play. The sign up sheets have been modi-

fied to include columns for this information.

Handicap Services

Members,

Pawleys Plantation will be transitioning from GHIN Handicap Services to Golf Net Handicap

Services, effective 2/1/15. As we work through this transition, please find the below FAQs to

help guide you through the process:

Do I have to give up my GHIN Handicap?

No—Should you wish to remain with GHIN Services, please contact the Golf Shop for options

Do I have to sign up for a Golf Net Handicap?

No—You will be presented with the option of using the Golf Net System at an annual fee of

$12 per person, however, should you wish to continue with GHIN Services, please contact the

Golf Shop

If I do not use Golf Net Services and remain with GHIN, am I eligible to play in Club Tour-

nament Events?

Yes—All USGA recognized Handicap Systems are recognized at Pawleys.

We understand certain organizations restrict participation in events historically supported

by our Members due to this change. Opportunities to continue to play in these events have

been organized by your Handicap Committee (Kathy Judge / Larry Judge / Tom Hood / Ron

Handley). Please reach out to any of these individuals, or call the Golf Shop for further Infor-

mation.
