Our OHDELA plan will help those who have served in the military and are now without a place to call home. We propose that twice a year we put on a fundraiser to raise money for the Home Coming Foundation. The Home Coming Foundation has been helping homeless veterans since 2008 providing them with food and general necessities. We could have a grill out in any neighborhood or local park with a collection box for donations of money or any supplies that could be used to help a person in need. We think this is a good plan because it will help people all over our community. We also think it is really sad that the people who have risked their lives to keep us free have to go without. They should not have to worry about where they are going to sleep tonight or when their next meal is going to be. If we can follow through with these ideas, we should be able to impact peoples’ lives in a positive way.

Some been injured so bad that they

cannot find work that they can apply for, making them jobless. After serving our country through self sacrifice, are now in poverty because of their duty to us…

Senator Thomas NiehausFirst capitol square, second floorColumbus OH 43215 Have you ever thought about what people in the military do for us on a daily basis? Hello sir, our names

are Katlyn Burke, Nicholas Brannen, and Anthony Spurling. Weare 8th grade students at OHDELA. Well sir, I do and it has

come to my attention that there are too many veterans now days that are on the streets of Ohio and all across the

Nation. Most are nice people who simply just could not pay their bills. That is why we think it is important that the city of Cincinnati

donate to the American Homecoming Foundation. The Homecoming Foundation has been helping homeless veterans since 2008

by providing them with the necessities that they need.

In the course of a year, over 400,000 veterans will become homeless. This small fact is not surprising to us because

veterans are five times more likely to be homeless Than the rest of the world’s population. Gordon is just one name but

he is a nice guy. I met Gordon last winter living by a place I normally go to. He was a veteran. That same winter Gordon

had to go to the hospital because he had got pneumonia. My point is that he did not get the help that he could have

because the organization did not have enough money to help him so he went to the hospital. The future could be so much better for a lot of people across our community if this foundation got enough

money to help everybody out. Even just a little bit could make a big difference in someone’s life. Who knows, we may

eventually Get veterans off the streets for good

Homeless and Needy Veterans Survey

When the men and women who fight wars put up their uniforms to return to civilian

life, we cannot forget them. They have earned dignity and hope. Let us serve those

who have served on our behalf.
