SAP APO (Advanced Planner and Optimizer) is a planning tool which is used to plan and optimize supply chain processes by making use of various modules viz. Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning, Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling, Global Available to Promise and Transportation management & vehicle Scheduling or Transportation Planning & Vehicle Scheduling. Demand Planning APO Demand Planning is a set of functionalities around Demand Management, Statistical Forecasting, Promotion and Life-cycle Planning processes. It is an integral part of any organization's Sales & Operations Planning Process. Demand Planning can primarily be divided in two areas - Data Mart and Demand Management Functionalities. Create Characteristics and Key FiguresTransaction code: RSA1
Select INFO OBJECTS on left (Modeling) panel
CREATE INFO AREA:
Right click on Info Objects on Right Panel Header
Provide INFO AREA Name and Description
NOTE: If you get for Create Object Dictionary Entry then enter $TMP and Enter
CREATE INFO OBJECT CATALOG :
Right Click on Info Area and select Create InfoObject Catalog
Enter Info Object Catalog Name and Description and click on Create button
Make sure InfoObject type is CHAR
Run consistency and Activate InfoObject Catalog
CREATE CHARACTERISTICS (INFOOBJECT):
Right click on InfoObject catalog and select InfoObject
Enter Name and Description
Select APO (put cursor on APO) and continue
Select Data Type as Character String and Enter Length 10 or 20 (Length of the Character value)
and Activate to create the Characteristic.
Repeat the Create Infoobject (Charcteristic) for creating any number of Characteristic
CREATE INFOOBJECT CATALOG for KEY FIGURES
Right Click on Info Area and Create Infoobject catalog
Activate InfoObject catalog.
CREATE KEY FIGURE:
Right click on InfoObject Catalog for Key Figure and select Create InfoObject
Select APO (put cursor on APO) and Continue
Select Quantity and Enter 0UNIT in Unit/Currency
Activate to create Key Figure.
Repeat the Create Infoobject (Key Figure ) for creating any number of Key Figure.
CREATE MPOS (Master Planning Object Structure):
Select Planning Object Structure view from selection
Right click on Plng Object Structure and click on Create Planning Object Structure
Enter Name of MPOS
Enter Description and Select Characteristics (either created by you or SAP standard) from Copy Fr and Add Char to include in your MPOS
And ACTIVATE to create MPOS.
Click on Continue to complete MPOS.
CREATE CVC:
Right click on your MPOS, select Char Combinations and again Select Maintain
Click on Create Characteristic Combinations
Click on Create button
Enter values for each Characteristic and select the line and click on Generate Button
You may get information pop-up
Click on OK button.
CVC generated.
click back and again to reach MPOS and
Or Enter /N in Command Field
CREATE STORAGE BUCKET PROFILE:
Enter Name of Storage Bucket Profile and select the Periodicities (what level data has to be stored) and enter Start and End Dates
SAVE.
CREATE PLANNING AREA:
Right click on Planning Areas and Select Create Planning Area
Enter Planning Area Name , Select your MPOS, Storage Bucket Profile and Unit of Measure like EA, PC, KG
Click to Continue
Click on Key Figs Tab
Select Key Figures from Copy Fr and click on to include in your Planning Area.
Key Figure Aggregtn Tab to set Calculation type (disaggregation type) for each Key Figure
if P or I selected then enter Disag Key Fig is High Lighted and select appropriate Key Figure
Click on locking logic
Deselect Activate Livecache lock to activate detailed lock
Save Planning Area.
INITIALIZE PLANNING AREA:
Right Click on your Planning Area
Click on Create Time Series Objects
Enter Planning Version : 000
Start Date and End Date i.e Active periods in Planning Area (Ideally it should be with in Horizon maintained in Storage Bucket Profile)
Execute (If executed background then check in T.code SM37 to check the status of the Job)
Once activate, you will find your PA in Green Status.
CREATE TMIE/PLANING BUCKET PROFILE:
Enetr Name of Time Bucket and Description
First Row Enter Number of Periods and Select Display Periodicity (Month or Week)
Click on Period List to check the periods
CREATE PLANNING BOOK:
Enter Planning Book Name and Click on Create button
Enter PB Description and Select your PA from the list (Put cursor on PA field and click F4)
Select Univariate under Navigate to Views Tab and Click on Continue at bottom
Key Figure Tab
Select your Key Figures for PB from PA (either Drag and drop or Select all by clicking
on )
And click on Continue .. for Next Tab
Select your Characteristics for PB from PA (either Drag and drop or Select all by clicking
on )
And click on Continue .. for Next Tab
Enter Data View Name and DescriptionSelect Time Bucket Profile for Future Periods and Past Period
Select and Enter the date in Visible Field, which you wish the past planning horizon to be visible when this data view is opened.
Select and Enter the date in Input Field, which you wish the past planning horizon to be changeable/Editable.
Click Continue
Select your Key Figures from PB to Data View (either Drag and drop or Select all by
clicking on )
And click on Complete to Create PB and Data View.
Pop-up for confirmation and click on Yes.
MAITAIN MASTER FORECAST PROFILE:
Select your Planning Area and Enter Name of Master Forecast Profile and Description
Select Key Figure (From the list of Key Figures in Planning Area) which will act as Forecast Key Figure in your Planning Area
Select Period Indicator i.e. whether you’re forecasting for Monthly or Weekly
Enter Number of Periods you wish to forecast in Forecast Horizon
Enter Number of Periods you wish to consider History for Forecasting
Click on Univariate Profile Tab
Enter Univariate Profile name and Description
Select your Sales Key Figure from the List and enter version 000
Select the Forecast Strategy from the Lsit and Click on Show Proposal on top to get default values
Save Univariate Profile by clicking on Single Profile
Again Click on Master Profile
Select Univariate Profile and Select your Univariate Profile
Save
GENERATE FORECAST
Select your Planning Book and expand to select Data View
Double click on Data view
Click on Selection Window to select your Characteristics
Select Product and Click on Adopt
Double click on Product or Load as shown
Enter sales values (Test purpose) and save
Click on Univariate Icon on top to Generate Forecast
System Generated Forecast for Future 6 Months and you can find the your Master Forecast Profile settings at Bottom of the Screen
Click on to goto to Planning Book and save .
