We are interested in determining whether demographic profiles are related to Post-Partum Depression (PPD). Purposive sampling will be used in identifying respondents. In the study, we are interested with the proportion of women who experience PPD. This will be our basis in the computation of the sample size. The following formula will be used: n= z α /2 2 P( 1P) e 2 Where: n is the sample size needed; p is the actual proportion of women who experience PPD. We will use p =0.5 as an estimate since we do not have prior knowledge (if you have other references stating the actual population, please input ) e is the desired margin of error which is set at 5% α is the significance level used in the study, set at 5%, and z is the value at the standard normal table at the desired α. For our α, z = 1.96

We are interested in determining whether demographic profiles are related to Post-Partum Depression (PPD). Purposive sampling will be used in identifying respondents. In the study, we are interested with the proportion of women who experience PPD. This will be our basis in the computation of the sample size. The following formula will be used:

n=zα /22 P (1−P)

e2

Where:

n is the sample size needed;

p is the actual proportion of women who experience PPD. We will use p =0.5 as an estimate since we do not have prior knowledge (if you have other references stating the actual population, please input )

e is the desired margin of error which is set at 5%

α is the significance level used in the study, set at 5%, and

z is the value at the standard normal table at the desired α. For our α, z = 1.96
