Living with a disability brings daily challenges. Often these challenges can make it dif!cult to experience a meaningful life, let alone prepare for and pursue a career. Stand Among Friends helps individuals develop the skills that prepare them to take the next step of !nding employment.
Our vocational rehabilitative programs have helped countless people identify their talents, prepare for the workforce and !nd rewarding careers. We work with clients to set achievable goals and we guide them every step of the way — from providing the tools to begin their job search, landing the interview, securing the job and offering support after they start working.
Who We AreStand Among Friends is a nonpro!t organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities. Our programs help them transition to greater independence; learn work, technology and social skills while emphasizing their talents, interests and education. We help them realize and achieve their career aspirations and widen their social opportunities — so they can experience a meaningful life, both personally and professionally.
Employment ProgramOur Employment Program educates and prepares people with disabilities for the workforce. We empower our clients through personal development, job development training and networking. We help them identify career interests, plan job searches and discover opportunities that match their career aspirations.

COGNITIVE VISUAL HEARING MOBILITY
Education & ResearchFrom unveiling the latest technology to presenting vital information that provides new answers, Stand Among Friends’ Education and Research efforts continually discover ways to help the disability community. We are committed to educating others about working with people with disabilities. Our Disability Sensitivity Program is an effective tool to teach employers and employees about disability sensitivity and accessibility.
Assistive TechnologyStand Among Friends’ Assistive Technology (AT) Program helps people with disabilities develop new technology skills to achieve competitive employment and improve their independence. Using AT brings an enhanced quality of life while expanding employment prospects. Our AT Lab combines a full compliment of employment related services and houses state of the art devices to accommodate people with all types of disabilities.

Vocational EvaluationsOur Vocational Evaluations identify abilities, interests and skills while addressing an individual’s needs and career goals. A base-line understanding is critical to developing a personalized plan to outline the steps needed to secure employment. We utilize the latest evaluation testing assessments administered by our certi!ed and experienced evaluation staff.
Community OutreachStand Among Friends’ Community Outreach & Mentoring Programs connects individuals to resources and potential employment opportunities. We have developed meaningful collaborations throughout South Florida that allow us to present a variety of employment and community services options for our clients.
