How to View and Use the Featured Works in Option One The featured works listed in Option One are all linked to internet websites where you can view the

paintings online. The links are also listed along with the options so if you print out the pages, you can

still manually type in the web address for the paintings.

To view a featured work, sometimes you will need to look for the specific artist and then click the

particular painting you are looking to view. Most images you can click to enlarge them for a better

viewing size.

You can right click on the painting with your mouse and copy it to your desktop to print it out. In most

cases, it is permissible to download one copy for study purposes.

Each featured work will be viewed for one week. The goal of picture study will be to view the painting

for one week and then at the end of the week, to have your child narrate back all the details he can

recall about the painting.

Complete: Draw Squad Pre-Test page 21 Read: Draw Squad Ten Key Words of Drawing page 24-25 View: Flight into Egypt List all the colors you see in the painting.

2 Read: Renaissance pages 10-13 View: History for Kids-Giotto Additional information about Giotto and a slideshow of his paintings. (Preview slideshow before sharing it with your children.)

Complete: Draw Squad Lesson 1: Foreshortening View: Life of St. Francis, Renunciation to Wealth Observe the buildings shapes and angles. Draw some of the buildings shown in the Life of St. Francis into your drawing notebook.

3 Read: Renaissance pages 16-17 View: Cappella Scrovegni: Visit the chapel online and be sure to click on the link to view the paintings from the entrance to get a better idea of how they are arranges in the chapel.

Complete: Draw Squad Lesson 2: Surface View: The Dream of Joachim and observe the differ-ent surfaces in the painting. Recreate the building in this painting in your note-book showing what you learned about surface.
