M24SR64Dynamic NFC/RFID Tag IC with 64-Kbit EEPROM, NFC Forum Type 4 Tag and I2C Interface

The M24SR64-Y device is a dynamic

NFC/RFID tag that can be accessed

either from the I2C or the RF interface.

The RF and I2C host can read or write to

the same memory, which is why only

one host can communicate at a time

with the M24SR64-Y. The management

of the interface selection is controlled by

the M24SR64-Y device itself.

The RF interface is based on the ISO/

IEC 14443 Type A standard. The

M24SR64-Y is compatible with the NFC

Forum Type 4 Tag specifications and

supports all corresponding commands.

The I2C interface uses a two-wire serial

interface consisting of a bidirectional

data line and a clock line. The devices

carry a built-in 4-bit device type identifier

code in accordance with the I2C bus

definition. The device behaves as a slave

in the I2C protocol.

The ADS8319 is a 16-bit, 500 ksps

analog-to-digital converter. It operates

with a 2.25...5.5 V external reference.

The device includes a capacitor based,

SAR A/D converter with inherent sample

and hold.

The device includes a 50 MHz SPI

compatible serial interface. The interface

is designed to support daisy chaining

or cascading of multiple devices. Also

a makes it easy to synchronize with the

digital host.

The ADS8319 unipolar single-ended

input range supports an input swing of

0 V to +VREF.

Device operation is optimized for very

low power operation, and the power

consumption directly scales with speed.

This feature makes it attractive for lower

speed applications.

DRV411Sensor Signal Conditioning IC for Closed-Loop Magnetic Current Sensors

The DRV411 is designed to condition

InSb Hall elements for use in closed-

loop current-sensor modules. It provides

precision excitation circuitry for the

Hall element effectively eliminating

the offset and offset drift of the

element. This device also provides a

250 mA H-bridge for driving the sensor

compensation coil as well a precision

differential amplifier to generate the

output signal. The 250 mA drive

capability of the H-bridge roughly

doubles the current measurement range

compared to conventional single-ended

drive methods.

The Hall sensor front end circuit and the

differential amplifier employ proprietary

offset cancelling techniques. These

techniques, along with a highly accurate

voltage reference, significantly improve

the accuracy of the overall current-

sensor module. The output voltage is

pin-selectable to support a 2.5 V output

for use with a 5 V power supply, as

well as 1.65 V for 3.3 V sensors. For

optimum heat dissipation, the DRV411

is available in thermally enhanced

PowerPAD packages.

The OPA172, OPA2172 and OPA4172

(OPAx172) are a family of 36 V, single-

supply, low-noise operational amplifiers

with the ability to operate on supplies

ranging from +4.5 V (±2.25 V) to +36 V

(±18 V). This latest addition of high

voltage CMOS operational amplifiers,

in conjunction with the OPAx171

and OPAx170 provide a family of

bandwidth, noise, and power options

to meet the needs of a wide variety of

applications. The OPAx172 are available

in micropackages and offer low offset,

drift, and quiescent current. These

devices also offer wide bandwidth, fast

slew rate, and high output current drive

capability. The single, dual, and quad

versions all have identical specifications

for maximum design flexibility.

Unlike most op amps, which are

specified at only one supply voltage,

the OPAx172 family is specified at

4.5...36 V. Input signals beyond the

supply rails do not cause phase reversal.

The input can operate 100 mV below the

negative rail and within 2 V of the top rail

during normal operation. Note that these

devices can operate with full rail-to-rail

input 100 mV beyond the top rail, but

with reduced performance within 2 V of

the top rail. The OPAx172 series of op

amps are specified over -40...+125 °C.

All 3 products in the QorIQ LS1 family

are pin-compatible, and engineered

to support a broad range of fan-less

networking applications, including

Internet of Things (IoT) gateways,

industrial automation and control and

networked storage devices.

The QorIQ LS1 family incorporates

several differentiating technologies,

and represents a breakthrough in SoC

design, allowing customers for the first

time to implement advanced capabilities

such as hardware-based virtualization

and Secure Boot and Trust Architecture,

together with enterprise-class reliability,

in a single chip that consumes less

than 3 watts (typical). ECC protection

technology is also included to support

high reliability “always on/always

control equipment. The LS1021A

family of products is the first sub-3 W

peripheral controllers than has ever been

offered before.

Freescale also offers a corresponding

power management IC (PMIC) for the

QorIQ LS1 devices. The MC34VR500

PMIC supplied by a single voltage

delivers all supply voltages, power

sequencing and fault detection needed

for a QorIQ LS1 design. It has 4

independent buck converters and 5 user

programmable LDOs and comes in a

8 x 8 mm² QFN package.

The Atmel® ATA6614Q is a system-

in-package (SiP) product, which is

particularly suited for complete LIN-bus

slave-node applications.

It consists of two ICs in one package

supporting highly integrated solutions for

in-vehicle LIN networks. The first chip

is the LIN system basis chip (LIN-SBC)

Atmel ATA6630, which has an integrated

LIN transceiver, a 5 V regulator (85 mA)

and a window watchdog. The second

chip is an automotive microcontroller

with advanced RISC architecture

and 32 Kbytes of Flash (Atmel

ATmega328P). All pins of the AVR

microcontroller and almost all pins of the

LIN system basis chip are bonded out to

provide customers the same flexibility

for their applications as they have when

using discrete parts.

The Atmel ATA6614Q is pin compatible

to the Atmel ATA6612C and ATA6613C.

A rich set of peripherals, flexibility and

ease-of-use combined with low power

consumption make the Atmel SAM D21

ARM Cortex-M0+ based microcontroller

series ideal for a wide range of home

automation, consumer, metering and

industrial applications. The SAM D21

is designed for simple and intuitive

migration between SAM D devices with

identical peripheral modules, compatible

code and a linear address map.

SERCOM

SAM D devices feature multiple

instances of the serial communication

module (SERCOM). The SERCOM is

configurable to operate as I2C, SPI or

USART, giving developers extended

flexibility to mix serial interfaces

and greater freedom in PCB layout.

Each SERCOM instance can be

assigned to different I/O pins through

I/O multiplexing, further increasing

versatility.

Timers/Counters for Control

SAM D21 series have T/CCs, these are

timers/counters for control applications

like switch mode power supplies,

lighting and motor control. The T/CCs

support up to 96 MHz and 24-bit

resolution.

I2S

The inter-IC sound controller (I2S)

provides a bidirectional, synchronous

digital audio link with external audio

devices. Peripheral DMA channels,

separated for each serializer, allow a

continuous high bit rate data transfer

without processor intervention. The

SAM D devices with I2S have a built

in fractional PLL to support glitch free

audio streaming from USB to I2S.

DMA

Up to 12 DMA channels are available

in SAM D. The DMA supports data

transfers from 1 byte to 256 Kbytes

and has selectable transfer triggers and

priority levels. The DMA is connected to

the ADC, DAC, I2S, SERCOM, T/C and

the T/CC.

FS USB 2.0

Selected SAM D products feature full

speed USB device and embedded host.

In device mode, a SAM D device can

operate from the internal RC oscillator

giving you a minimum bill of materials

and PCB-area implementation. The USB

drivers are available from Atmel through

the Atmel Software Framework.

Peripheral Touch Controller

An embedded peripheral touch

controller (PTC) makes it easy to add

capacitive touch sensing to your project

with buttons, sliders, wheels and

proximity. Implementing one button

takes one channel, while wheels and

sliders take 3 channels to implement.

IDT introduces VersaClock® 5 with best-

in-class jitter performance at 50% lower

The 5P49V5901 is an eight-output

programmable clock generator capable

of generating independent frequencies

up to 350 MHz in various output

types – replacing up to eight crystals

to minimize board area and bill-of-

materials. With RMS phase jitter less

than 0.7 picoseconds over the full

12 kHz to 20 MHz integration range, the

new device meets the stringent noise

requirements of PCI Express Gen 1/2/3,

USB 3.0, and 1G/10G Ethernet.

The high-performance clock generator

operates at less than 100 mW core

power (50% lower than competing

devices), helping to ease system thermal

constraints and reduce operating power

expenses. Unlimited reprogramming is

possible via I2C, while four banks of one-

time programmable non-volatile memory

provides additional flexibility for multi-

project inventory consolidation or design

changes in field or production units. The

high level of integration, flexibility, and

performance enables system designers

to address a multitude of applications,

such as: consumer, networking,

computing, industrial, communications,

broadcast video, and medical. The

new product is fully supported by

IDT’s Timing Commander™ software

platform, allowing engineers to

configure and program their devices

The LPC4370 are ARM Cortex-M4

based microcontrollers for embedded

applications, which also integrates two

ARM Cortex-M0 cores. Moreover, the

LPC4370 includes 282 KB of SRAM,

advanced configurable peripherals

such as the state configurable timer

(SCT) and the serial general purpose

I/O (SGPIO) interface, two high-speed

USB controllers, Ethernet, LCD, an

external memory controller, and multiple

digital and analog peripherals including

operates at CPU frequencies of up to

204 MHz.

The ARM Cortex-M4 CPU incorporates

a 3-stage pipeline, uses a Harvard

architecture with separate local

instruction and data buses as well as a

third bus for peripherals, and includes

an internal prefetch unit that supports

speculative branching. The ARM

Cortex-M4 supports single-cycle digital

signal processing and SIMD instructions.

A hardware floating-point processor is

integrated in the core.

The LPC4370 includes an ARM

Cortex-M0 coprocessor and a

second ARM Cortex-M0 subsystem

for managing the SGPIO and SPI

peripherals. The ARM Cortex-M0 core

is an energy-efficient and easy-to-use

32-bit core which is code- and tool-

compatible with the Cortex-M4 core.

The FM4 family of 32-bit, general-

purpose MCUs Based on the ARM®

Cortex™-M4F processor core, features

DSP and floating point unit (FPU)

functions. MB9BF56xK\L products are

available in 48-pin and 64-pin packages

with 256/384/512 Kbytes embedded

Flash and 32/48/64 Kbytes RAM. The

parts operate at clock frequencies of up

to 160 MHz, and support an operating

voltage range of 2.7...5.5 V. The internal,

trimmed RC oscillators function as an

independent clock source for the clock

supervisor and watchdog modules.

The devices also feature a two-stage

programmable low voltage detector

(LVD), a CRC hardware module, a

memory protection unit (MPU), and

programmable emergency stop input for

inverter control. A fast Flash memory

combined with a pre-fetch buffer

provides zero-wait-state operation up

to 160 MHz. The secure Flash memory

has an endurance of 100,000 write/

erase cycles with up to 20 years of data

retention.

The devices operate at 0.4 mA/MHz,

1.5 µA in RTC mode. The dedicated,

low-power chip design includes clock

and power gating. There are multiple

low-power options for finely grained

power-saving modes, and a dedicated

power domain for deep standby modes.

The devices include support for CAN

and USB 2.0. Motor-control features

include up to three multifunction timers

and respective number of quadrature

decoder units. The MCUs include up to

three high-speed, 12-bit A/D converters,

which can be triggered synchronously

and have a conversion time of 0.5 µs.

Other features include universal base

timers, a sub-clock option, and flexible,

multi-function serial interfaces.

changes to data in the event of power

outages or main power failure, FRAM

is the ideal solution for safeguarding

parameter information and logging data

in unstable environments.

Since FRAM is non-volatile, battery

deployment is rendered redundant,

with customers able to save as much

as 50% of the PCB mounting area by

removing the battery. Non-volatility

also cuts power consumption: while

SRAM requires a current for data

retention when the main power source

is removed – consuming roughly 15 µW/

second – FRAM requires zero power to

retain data. Battery deployment is also

associated with battery materials and

maintenance outlay. By eliminating the

battery, FRAM therefore helps to reduce

system costs.

Overall, the FRAM device plays a major

part in reducing the size, cost and power

consumption of the target application.

The IS25LQ512A/010A/020A are

serial peripheral interface (SPI) Flash

The vertical mount package option for

the DC to 50 Mbaud Versatile Link active

components is the completion of the

new family of products. It allows mid

board mounting now also for the high

speed Versatile Link family featuring

TTL I/Os in a variety of industrial

applications. The horizontal package

allows accessing the fiber port level to

the board allowing mid board mounting

and with that high port densities on a

single board. This is useful especially

for control boards aggregating control

of e.g. many inverters in high power

electronics.

The transmitters AFBR-1634Z & AFBR-

1639Z integrate a 650nm LED source

and a driver IC offering digital TTL input

signals. Alternative the high power

AFBR-1539Z analog transmitter can be

used for up to 10MBd signaling rates.

The integrated receivers AFBR-2436Z

& AFBR-2539Z output a TTL signal and

feature Avago’s patented design for high

immunity to noise and electromagnetic

fields created by e.g. fast transients in

switching applications. The transmitters

and receivers can be operated at either

3.3V or 5V supply voltage.

The vertical Versatile Link housing

is compatible with Avago’s Versatile

Link family of products. The housing

is designed to efficiently couple into

1mm polymer optical fiber (POF) for

up to 50m links. For longer link lengths

200um PCS fiber can be used. Versatile

Link components can be interlocked

(N-plexed together) to minimize space

and to provide dual connections with

the duplex connectors. Various simplex

and duplex connectors as well as POF

cables are available for Versatile Link

components.

family of tri-colour SMT LEDs in a

PLCC-4 package for indoor colour

displays.

A wide viewing angle of 115° together

with the built in reflector drives up

housing of the ASMB-BTE1-ZB332 LED

with a white inner reflector provides

good contrast without compromising

The ASMB-MTB0-ZA3A2 part has

The FOD8332 is an advanced 2.5 A

output current IGBT/MOSFET drive

optocoupler. The device’s insulation

working voltage rating (VIORM) of 1414

V is 13% higher than the competition,

permitting the device to directly drive

1200 V IGBTs. Common mode transient

immunity (CMTI) is more than 100%

better than competitive solutions, while

dynamic power consumption per cycle

(ESW) during switching is 50% less than

the competition.

These high voltage parts allow systems

of a given power rating to operate at

higher voltages and lower currents

where the noise filtering becomes

less lossy resulting in higher efficiency

inverters. The FOD8332 integrates

critical protection features necessary for

preventing fault conditions that lead to

destructive thermal runaway of IGBTs.

It reduces design complexity as most

protection feature are built-in, eliminating

the need for the board designer to

specify additional components.

The device utilizes Fairchild’s proprietary

Optoplanar® coplanar technology

and optimized IC design to achieve

high insulation voltage and high noise

immunity, characterized by high

SFH 4710IR OSLON Compact

The new infrared Oslon Compact SFH

4710 has been designed especially

for industrial applications. As a mid-

power LED with a typical output of

270 mW from an operating current of

500 mA, it is a welcome addition to

the product portfolio of Osram Opto

Semiconductors, occupying the output

range between Power TopLED and

Oslon Black.

The new IRED accommodates a small

powerful chip with an edge length

of 750 µm and half the footprint of

standard chips in the Oslon Black.

With package dimensions of 1.6 x 1.2

x 0.8 mm3 the Oslon Compact is not

much larger than the chip itself and

is therefore one of the smallest in its

output class. The high output, which

is achieved thanks to state-of-the art

thin-film chip technology, combined with

the small package, opens up numerous

new applications, particularly where

there is very little available space but

performance demands are high. And if

required, components can be packed

very close together to increase the

optical output with a high degree of

flexibility.

The infrared light emitting diode has an

emission angle of +/- 65° and does not

need internal optics or reflectors. Its light

can however be successfully injected

into narrow-angled external optics. With

external optics it is ideal for illumination

in surveillance applications and for

machine vision tasks such as pattern

recognition and 3D measurement

because the wavelength of 850 nm is

barely perceptible to the human eye but

can be very easily detected by camera

systems. Without external optics the

IRED perfectly covers the near-field

range of a few meters and is therefore

suitable for example for eye tracking and

gesture detection.

Security surveillance over large

distances is now possible thanks to the

infrared Dragon Dome LED from Osram

Opto Semiconductors.

The focused beam of this high-power

IRED achieves a range of more than

100 meters. It has a compact design and

does not need an external lens. With its

wavelength of 850 nm, this LED is ideal

as a light source for security surveillance

tasks such as CCTV (closed circuit

television).

The Dragon Dome (SFH 4783) is the

first high-power infrared LED that emits

its light within a narrow angle of +/- 12°.

From a current of 1 A is achieves a

total radiated power of 430 mW and

therefore a radiant intensity of 2.3 W/sr.

At this radiant intensity the beam of

light will have a usable range of more

than 100 meters, depending on the

sensitivity and field of view of the

camera. Radiant intensity is measured in

watts per steradian. It indicates the light

output within a solid angle segment. The

high total radiated power of the IRED

is thanks to state-of-the-art thin-film

technology which enables the light to

be extracted extremely efficiently from

the chip.

This high radiant intensity benefits all

applications that need strong focused

light to provide reliable illumination over

large distances. These include outdoor

CCTV surveillance systems at border

crossings and or at airports. With a

wavelength of 850 nm the emitted light

is well suited to camera sensors but is

barely perceptible to the human eye.

This means that surveillance can be very

discreet.

The narrow light beam is produced

by the deep metallic reflector and the

lens of the Dragon Dome. The SMT

(surface mount technology) package,

which is compatible with other Dragon

designs, is suitable for reflow soldering

processes and helps make handling

even easier and further reduces

production costs.

Requirements to support both sink and

source logic inputs in modern PLC and

instrumentation systems means that

bridge circuitry is commonly employed

upstream from the photocouplers used

in high-speed digital interfaces. Now,

however, by combining two LEDs in

a reverse parallel configuration, the

TLP2395 and TLP2398 eliminate

the need for these bridge circuits.

As a modern PLC can have multiple

photocouplers - and, therefore, multiple

bridge circuits - the devices will

significantly reduce circuit size, power

consumption and cost.

Both the TLP2395 (logic buffer output)

and the TLP2398 (inverter output)

photocouplers will accommodate a wide

3...20 V power supply voltage range,

which helps to reduce the need for

DC-DC conversion circuitry. Each device

also offers guaranteed operation at

temperatures ranging over -40...+125 °C.

The two new couplers are supplied

in SO-6 surface mount packaging

that integrates two GaAlAs LEDs

coupled with a high-gain, high-

speed photodetector. Despite board

mounting dimensions of only 7.0 x

3.7 x 2.3 mm3, guaranteed minimum

creepage and clearance distance is

5 mm and guaranteed minimum input-

output withstand voltage is 3.5 kVRMS.

An internal Faraday shield ensures

common-mode transient immunity of

±20 kV/μs.

This new 1200 V field stop IGBT series

minimizes conduction losses by having

a VCE(SAT) of 1.8 V, which is far lower than

that of the previous fast-switching NPT

IGBTs. These new devices have one of

the lowest VCE(SAT) ratings available in

the 1200 V fast-switching IGBT market.

The switching losses are low with an

EOFF value of under 30 µJ/A. All devices

contain a co-packed diode optimized for

fast switching.

Fairchild’s new 1200 V field stop trench

IGBT series helps customers drive

higher energy efficiencies and high

reliability in their designs, and helps

manufacturers address government

regulations and meet their end-

customers demand for increased

energy savings. The 1200 V field

stop trench IGBT series also allows

designers to operate devices at higher

switching frequencies than competitive

solutions, helping to reduce the size

and cost of the capacitors and inductive

components in the circuit. This results

in system designs with higher power

density, smaller size and lower bill of

material costs.

This IGBT series is 100% tested for

clamped inductive switching at current

levels of four times the rated current to

guarantee a larger safe operating area

mode controllers targeting isolated

flyback and non-isolated constant

The NCP/NCV51190/198 are simple,

cost-effective, high-speed linear

regulators designed to generate the

VTT termination voltage rail for DDR-I,

DDR-II and DDR-III memory. The

regulators are capable of actively

sourcing or sinking up to ±1.5 A for

DDR-I, or up to ±0.5 A for DDR-II/- III

while regulating the output voltage to

The NCP1032x is a miniature high-

voltage monolithic switching converter

with on-chip power switch and startup

circuits.

It incorporates in a single IC all the active

power, control logic and protection

The AS0260 produces extraordinarily

The LPS25H is an ultra compact absolute

piezoresistive pressure sensor. It includes

a monolithic sensing element and an IC

interface able to take the information

from the sensing element and to provide

a digital signal to the external world. The

sensing element consists of a suspended

membrane realized inside a single

mono-silicon substrate. It is capable

to detect the absolute pressure and is

manufactured with a dedicated process

developed by ST.

The membrane is very small compared

to the traditionally built silicon

micromachined membranes. Membrane

breakage is prevented by an intrinsic

mechanical stopper.

The IC interface is manufactured using

a standard CMOS process that allows

Interface (GMII), the BCM5461 also

supports the RGMII and RTBI interfaces.

RGMII is a reduced pin-count (12 versus

25) version of the GMII, and RTBI is a

reduced pin-count version of TBI utilizing

standard ASIC technology. The small

Designed for reliable operation over

The PT501 is a cost optimized and

universal solution to communicate

with an NFC phone in applications like

maintenance or for machine-to-machine

communication. The PT501 is a generic

13.56 MHz communication interface,

this transceiver IC can be operated in

two operating modes:

Card emulation mode supporting ISO/

IEC 14443-A and FeliCa compliant

protocol. In card emulation mode, the

PT501 transceiver IC is able to answer

to a reader/writer command either

according to the ISO/IEC 14443A/

cell batteries. If the high efficiency

embedded DC-DC step-down converter

is used, the maximum input current is

only 15 mA at the highest output power

(+8 dBm). Even if the DC-DC converter

is not used, the maximum input current

is only 29 mA at the highest output

power, still preserving battery life.

Ultra low-power sleep modes and very

short transition time between operating

modes result in very low average current

consumption during real operating

conditions, providing very long battery

life. Two different external matching

networks are suggested: standard

mode (TX output power up to +5 dBm)

and high power mode (TX output

power up to +8 dBm). The external

host application processor, where the

application resides, is interfaced with

the BlueNRG through an application

controller interface protocol which is

based on a standard SPI interface.
