Salvation is free it costs you nothing, but following Jesus will cost you something.

If I were to answer all your questions to your complete intellectual satisfaction, would you be willing to accept Christ?

If I were to answer all your questions to your complete intellectual satisfaction, would you be willing to accept Christ?

The man responded, Most likely, no.

Will He be the Lord of your life?

What will it cost you to follow Him?

Luke 5:111 On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, 2and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. 3Getting into one of the boats, which was Simons, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat...

And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch. 5And Simon answered, Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets. 6And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. 7They signaled to theirpartners in the other boat to

come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, 10and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon

And Jesus said to Simon, Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men. 11And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

Luke 14:2533 Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them, 26If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. 28For whichof you, desiring to build a tower...

does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 29Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30saying, This man began to build and was not able to finish. 31Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand

to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. 33So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.

What will He ask me to give up?

God did this wonderful thing for us, but now we better not do anything fun.

The issue I struggled with - that seemed so big at the time - was did I want what was in my hands OR did I trust what was in Gods pocket?

Will I get anything in return?

What is He asking you to do? What will it cost you?A relationshipA business dealA jobA promotion That new carThat collegeThose friends

We think its a bad deal

We think its a bad deal

What we are giving up is more valuable than what God has planned for us.

What do we get when we trust Him?He makes sense of so much in our livesHe gives MEANING to lifeHe infuses life with PURPOSEHe offers a SOLUTION to the cosmic loneliness of lifeHe ENABLES us to become better persons in life

The issue is not what He is asking you to give up, the issue is can you trust Him.

Following Jesus will cost you something, but refusing to follow Jesus will cost you more.

We have no idea what hangs in the balance of our decision to trust God.

To move out of that relationshipTo stay in that marriageTo get out of the partnershipTo change the way you handle your weekendsTo change what you look at on the internetTo disengage from those friendships that influence youTo become more generous

When we trust Him, we move from living for self to living for Him, and by extension living for others.

Good people will do good things and bad people will do bad things, but for good people to do bad things, that takes religion. Steven Weinberg

For bad people to do good things, that takes religion. that takes God.

For bad people to do good things, that takes religion. that takes God.

When you learn to trust Him, when you believe in Him, you will begin doing very good things.
