1.3. Installation prerequisites and tips

1. After installing WIN-PAK XE/SE/PE 4.0 Build 673.3, you must manual apply Build 673.3.2 Hot Patch.

This patch can also be applied to existing Build 673.3.1

The hot patch file name is “Patch 673_3_2 on WP 4_0.exe” and is located in the DVD’s \Utilities\WP Build 673.3.2 patch folder.

Step1: Stop all WIN-PAK Services

Step2: Copy the hot patch to the C: drive

Step3: Rename WP Communications Server.exe and Winpak2.exe in your WIN-PAK installation directory. Normally this would be in the C:\Program Files\WINPAKPRO folder.

Step4: Run the hot patch and follow display instructions.



Step5: When complete, start all WIN-PAK Services

Note: If more than one communication server is used, apply this hot patch to each communication Server.

2. Support for MAXPRO NVR 3.1 Build 65b requires manual installation of the MAXPOR NVR 3.1 driver on the WIN-PAK server and clients. Driver (500-00918V6-T5-B_MAXPRO_VMS_NVR_3.1_DRIVER.zip) available in the Utilities folder on the WIN-PAK 4.0 software DVD or available from the Honeywell Download Center.

3. .Net 4.5.1 is not supported for VMS applications – Failed to connect to Trinity rendering Server error will be generated. Uninstall .Net 4.5.1 and install .Net 3.5 or 4.0 using the following steps:

Step 1: Uninstall .Net Framework 4.5.1

Step 2: Install from the installation media from the Software\Prerequisites folder the

DotNetFramework3.5SP1 and then the DotNetFramework4.0

Note: This will require access to the internet as additional updates will be required to be downloaded during the installation of the .net 3.5SP1 and .Net4.0

4. Direct upgrades (install on top of) are qualified from the following WIN-PAK XE/SE/PE 3.0 builds: 670.25; 670.21; 670.21.1.0; 670.16; 670.14.

5. Upgrading from WIN-PAK SE/PE 2.0 build 645.3 can be done via restoring of the database on a new installation of WIN-PAK 4.0

6. WIN-PAK builds older than 645.3 should be sent to Honeywell tech support for DB conversion.

1.5. The Known issues in this build are

1. WINPAK-3204 When UAC is enabled then following observations are noted.

a. Only in complete installation machine, when logged with windows guest user and UAC level 4 (maximum) WIN-PAK logout and QSW is not working. This is not observed in WIN-PAK UI alone installations. When UAC is level 3 everything works fine. (observed in all OS)

b. When WIN-PAK is installed along with VMS then in some machines WIN-PAK uninstallation is not working. This looks like a windows issue and workaround is to manually set registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system -Name EnableLUA -Value 0

2. WINPAK-3169 - In PW6000 panel with the version of 2.2.1, Antipass back functionality will not work. But the PW6000 of version 3.6.2(359) Antipass back functionality will work.

3. While upgrading from 670.21.1.0 or reinstalling the 673.3, if any additional recorders has to be installed, VMS R300 SP1 & SP2 has to be uninstalled manually before proceeding to next step.

4. After restoring or upgrading DB contains more than 128 Access level for a NetAXS panel, some of the entrances assigned to access level may not work properly. To know that Entrances with Access Level, Run utility ‘NetAXS_128_AL_Check.exe’ in the database server machine installed folder. Remove the timezone assigned to that mentioned Entrances in Access Level and remove the custom Access Level from mentioned cards. If panels are added using QSW false message box will be thrown. Workaround is to open the access level & remove the changes manually.

5. Known issues of PRO3000 (Asian product) in the build 670.25 is applicable for this build also.

8. Panel Auto download functionality will not work at first Panel configuration of NetAXS, P-series panels and panel has to be initialized once.

9. Panel auto download will not work when the panel is offline. Once the panel came online user has to initialize the panel once.

10. Timezone, Holiday auto download to panel (NetAXS, P-series) will not if the communication server is in offline. Once the communication server came online user has to initialize the panel once.

11. WINPAK-3224: P-Series panel resets itself, if the user modifies the timezone slots.

12. WINPAK-3172: Auto download is not working in P-Series panel, if the user changes the timezone for its outputs.

13. WINPAK-3208: Filter configurations are not saved in Card holder report template.

14. WINPAK-3233: "Camera Enabled" event is not recording to history.



15. WINPAK-3075: Camera motion alarm events do not record to History but do display in both the Alarm and Event Views

16. WINPAK-2917: "MAXPRO NVR controller connected" event is continuously reported in Alarm & Event views whenever user uses retrieve option in camera configuration tab.

17. WINPAK-3016: Port configuration change doesn't function for a P-Series panel, still uses port 3001

18. WINPAK-2579: Locking of PTZ controls during recording duration doesn't works for intensive recordings in Fusion DVR's.

19. WINPAK-3154: Operator Action Report is not showing "Panel Auto Initialization Failed events"

20. WINPAK-3184 :Reverse Read LED's option is not working in PRO3000 panel

21. WINPAK-3189: NetAXS4 Groups “all readers use the same group” option doesn’t work.

22. WINPAK-3175: VMS components are not removed during Unisntallation of WIN-PAK 4.0 if UAC is enabled.

23. WINPAK-3170: P-Series Triggers & procedures actions are not recorded in the History & OAR.

24. WINPAK-3169: Antipassback functionality is not working in Pro6K panel.

25. WINPAK-3135: Installation shield failed to create database while installing WIN-PAK with already installed SQL (named instance.)

26. WINPAK-3134: During installation, the install shield may present error messages.

a. msiexec.exe - Application Error

b. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x Redistributable - 10.0.30319 is already installed. (See attachment)

If user clicks "OK" on above error message, installation will proceed.

27. WINPAK-3209: WIN-PAK sends more commands than required to a NetAXS panel for the single change in the panel configuration.

29. WINPAK-3231: Command file execution is not working on Receive for NetAXS & P-Series Panels Output ADV

30. WINPAK-3227: Start & Stop recording is not working for MAXPRO NVR 2.5 SP1.

31. WINPAK-3226: If user retrieves video for more than one camera from Fusion recorder , WIN-PAK will display error message "unable to retrieve video maximum retrieval connection already in use" and will not show the retrieval for the second camera.

32. WINPAK-3236: User not able to view the video retrieval for Custom Event Recording if recording duration interval less than 1 minute

33. WINPAK-3235: Camera live video is not showing for Analog Cameras connected with MAXPRO Hybrid NVR

34. WINPAK-3242: Recorder events do not have event description and the History report shows strange events when the recorder devices in Remote UI+Comm is installed without VMS Machine

35. WINPAK-3293: Control map status is not updating the Recorders when VMS services are stopped.

36. WINPAK-3274: User not able to configure command file for the P-Series Panel ADV and it shows blank.

37. WINPAK-3215: If Server & Client machines are in different subnet mask (both are in Workgroup only), VMS fails to connect WIN-PAK client machine. In the same case, WIN-PAK client will connect to WIN-PAK server without any error..

38. WINPAK-3205: After upgrading and logging in the WIN-PAK UI the error generated is: Failed to load NCIRegistry.DLL. Cannot start WIN-PAK" Workaround is the register the “NCIRegistry.dll” file.



39. WINPAK-3294: Using Quick Start Wizard user not able to configure PRO-3200 Panel

40. WINPAK-3295 :WIN-PAK Help File document not captured Windows 8.1 and Windows 2012 R2 OS Support

41. WINPAK-3443: When the system is configured with Time Zone names greater than 20 characters and it is associated with more than 25 panels, a communication server crash can occur when modifying existing Time Zones. Workaround to avoid the crash is to rename the Time Zone name with less than 20 characters.

42. WINPAK-3441: Cosmetic issue found that the Patch installer for 673.3.2 showing "This Patch has to be applied on top of WP 4.0 Build 673.3" only and it should be modified as "This Patch has to be applied on top of WP 4.0 Build 673.3 and Patch 673.3.1"

43. WINPAK-3447: Using Multiple Access Level configuration if the Access Level or Card database is opened and then closed by clicking on OK, WIN-PAK will send updates to the panel even when no changes were made. This results in no risk to the system but does result in unnecessary communication. The work around is to Select Cancel or “X” out of the screen if no edits were made.

1.6. WIN-PAK Support:

1. B670.14/ B670.16/B670.21/B670.21.1.0/B673.1 customers can directly upgrade to B673.3

2. B633.2/B645.3 customers have to upgrade to B670.14 and then from B670.14 directly upgrade to B673.3.

1.7. VMS Highlights:

1. Install R300 SP1 and SP2 in installation itself.

2. Support for Maxpro NVR V2.5.1 SP1 B35 and Hybrid V3.0 B45 Rev B (In order to support MaxPro NVR Hybrid Version, user has to manually install New Maxpro NVR driver and Analog Capture Card Driver)

1.8. Installation Support

1. Build Deployment: All WIN-PAK computers in a network must be on the same build number.

2. WIN-PAK supports Installation on Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8,Windows Server 2012 in 64 bit only and on Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7 in 32 and 64 bit Operating system with latest service pack and hot fixes.

3. Default SQL 2008 R2/2012 Express Edition.

4. Installation will support English, French & Spanish languages only.

5. Install setup of SQL Server in a separate machine is not supported

6. Windows Authentication for SQL installation is not supported.

7. Upgrade support for Non English OS like support Arabic, Czech, Dutch, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese is not supported.

8. TT 1846 - 'User account control' window shows "Unidentified publisher" instead of "Honeywell Access System" while running WIN-PAK exe in Vista OS is not fixed

9. Fusion III & IV hardware needs to be loaded with 4.5.B22 Fusion server software for the integration.

10. HRDP H.264 support with open issues related to PCOpen.

11. Windows updates should be installed and machine should be restarted before running WIN-PAK installation. Recommended to disable windows updates during installation.

12. The windows updates should be allowed to get installed in the PC where WIN-PAK and VMS is to be installed, otherwise the installer will do multiple reboots and install will fail. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958043

13. Special characters(", ?,=],)) should not be mentioned while setting password for the machine

14. Uninstallation of drivers from add/remove programs is not recommended

15. WIN-PAK Complete installation on a RAID computer and/or updating the site-key license, the anti-virus “On access Scan” feature has to be disabled.

1.9. Limitations

1. It is strongly recommended to take backup of Database before upgrade.

2. Installation from network is not recommended.

3. During uninstallation from Add/Remove programs page, there will be delay to get the uninstallation wizard opened.

4. Sometimes a delay was observed (approx 1 min) to get data updated in NetAXS Web after adding data from WIN-PAK.

5. NetAXS Web UI will logout users on receiving panel config changes from WIN-PAK

6. After NetAXS panel initialization is completed in WIN-PAK it may take a few additional minutes (say 1 to 2 mins) for the changes to take effect in panel/hardware.

7. Card formats higher than 31 can’t be used with this version of WIN-PAK.

8. Global antipassback (WIN-PAK based) feature is a not implemented for NetAXS.

9. In supervisor mode, supervisor cards will not face antipassback restrictions.

10. As VIP card does not have PIN, Pin only mode will not be applicable for VIP card holder, (another Standard/Supervisor card with PIN would be required for getting access for VIP during PIN only mode.)

11. QSW might fail to launch after fresh installation or after re-install and with the fire-wall remaining disabled, it may not launch. The QSConfigWiz.exe has to be registered using the run command /regserver is a workaround.

12. Drag and drop will result in truncation of letters and creation of irrelevant names if the NetAXS panel name is longer.

13. If your application is not using Reader B at the NetAXS-123 panel, that ADV has to be unchecked in Panel database to avoid issues/conflicts.

14. In large DB, card related actions will take more time to download to the panel.

15. In upgrade scenario Operator Action Report might fail to launch. Manual registration of “OperatorActionReport.exe” is a workaround.

16. WIN-PAK may not respond when user set/un-set the galaxy group through card action. Continuous set/unset will cause this.

17. Panel is not checking the “Case sensitive Encryption Password” which has been configured in WIN-PAK (Panel will still communicate with WIN-PAK).

18. On board encryption support is not available for NetAXS-4 Panels – requires external encryption hardware.

19. PIN No ‘1’ should not be used for cards, since ‘0” is not used as a PIN number as some keypads will provide a 0 or 65535 as the number if the # is pressed. So if you are using the Duress output and Reader's Direct Point output and your standard PIN is 1 it will not get activated.

20. For card formats NetAXS panel & readers, user has to provide a name explicitly in configuration.

21. Only the first 32 card formats will be sent to NetAXS Readers. Any other card formats after 32 will not be sent even when the total count of card formats configured in panel is less than 32. [This is firmware limitation with NetAXS 4-3.4.3 and NetAXS123-3.4.27]



22. Interoperability feature [Setting Groups/Partitions by 3 consecutive card swipes] will not work at readers having antipassback enabled.

23. If two NIC card were configured in a machine and if any connection error came, disable the current NIC Card and enable the other NIC card, the connection will be established.

24. Licenses issues sometimes seen:

a. Observation 1 – In some machine while updating the license key, ’License Update failed, invalid CD key’ message will be displayed. But the license gets registered successfully. It’s an crypkey Issue and not fixed in this build

b. Observation 2 – if licensed WIN-PAK is uninstalled and installed again then, while logging in the WIN-PAK UI will show the error message ‘Your License is invalid . The Program has already had its trial period’. This is not fixed in this build.

c. Observation 3 – WIN-PAK displays "your license is invalid" in build 670.17 which is upgraded from build 670.14. It is not reproduced in the same scenario.

25. Initialization of a NetAXS-123 panel with circular interlocks configured will fail. The user can remove any such circular interlocks configured and initialize the panel again.

26. Limitations with NetAXS-123 Readers A and B:

1. If Reader B’s are not configured with the panel then the ADV’s must be deleted and Unchecked in WIN-PAK. Only then the reader B will be deactivated in the panel.

2. If Reader B ADV’s are added in WIN-PAK and the Reader B’s are not configured then the NetAXS-123 panel will show events wrongly alternating between Reader A and Reader B. This is a limitation with the NetAXS-123 panel.

3. The card formats, door access modes, interlocks for Reader A’s and Reader B’s are common. If any changes are needed the changes can be done for the corresponding Reader A’s. Accordingly the Reader B’s will work. For Reader B’s these settings won’t be shown.

1.10. Other Limitations

1. ASCII communication with NetAXS-4 panel is not supported. Any limitation of configuring the NetAXS-4 panel

as N1000 is not supported.

2. 10000 card download to NetAXS-4 panel is taking 10 hrs of time without any other panel actions.

3. It is always recommended to do FULL INITIALIZE of the panel when the configuration changes are done

(Cards: Optional).

4. If SQL 2008 Enterprise is already installed, then the SQL Authentication type (or Mixed authentication type)

has to be enabled during/after SQL installation, but before the start of WIN-PAK installation.

5. Backup and Restore: When restoring DB from 670.14/670.16/670.21 to 673.3, it will take additional 2 mins

for the restore operation (Time may vary depending on the size of the databases).

6. Failover server & Shadow copy are not supported.

7. WIN-PAK Backup restore will support SQL 2008/2012 backup only with No Compression.

8. The Minimum disk space required for successful WIN-PAK fresh installation is hardcoded to 500 MB, and for

the SQL database files, the target drive should have at least 5 GB free space.

9. For upgrade scenario disk free space should be more than twice its database file (MDF and LDF) size.

10. There should be bare-minimum of 300 MB in the C: drive while the installation is started, this is for the start

of the install-shield installer, if it is less than the required free space then the installer will not start.



11. Digital Video Camera will not be available for Standard Action groups, Existing Camera associations in

Standard Action group, will be changed to Custom action group on upgrade/ restoring the old backups.

12. Registry information will be available under Northern computers only and will not be changed to Honeywell.

Installation Log files, few old libraries & few source code Files will continue to show Northern computers

information

13. Perquisite for upgrading MSDE to SQL 2008 R2 Express edition is SP4 of MSDE should be installed prior to this

upgrade. This SP4 is not part of installation package.

14. Default SQL user name will be “sa”. And user has to enter a valid SQL strong password before proceeding

with installation.

15. Though Dot Net Framework is perquisite for SQL2008 R2, irrespective whether SQL2008 R2 is selected dot

net Framework will be installed to reduce number of Restart during installation.

16. When the database that is being upgraded/restored (633.2, 633.14 or less to 642 and above) is having a

single communication server, all the action groups associated in standard action groups for the devices with

the Fusion/HRDP camera for digital video association (popup) will be present after upgrade in corresponding

Custom Action groups. And these custom action groups will be selected default in the ADV action dialog.

17. When the database that is being upgraded/restored (633.2, 633.14 or less to 642 and above) is having more

than one active communication server, then the action group association will not be preserved after upgrade.

If the device and the DVR are under the same communication server after upgrade, the digital video

association will be preserved. (This limitation is due to the cross communication scenario - two

communication server cannot inter talk)

18. Not recommended to change the host name after SQL installation. If host name is changed after SQL Server Installation, we have to execute set of SQL scripts before installing WINPAK. “http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143799.aspx”

19. User has to manually stop all WIN-PAK services for VMS SP1 & SP2 installation & Uninstallation.

20. MAXPRO NVR retrieval & apply option will not work, if WIN-PAK is installed on top of SQL named instance. Workaround for this issue to enable the MAXPRO NVR start/stop recording option is mentioned below:

a. Copy the file 'VMSSetup\Common\BatchFileFolder\ExecuteNVRSQL.bat' from the WP 3.3 build 670.20 and paste in a local machine path.

b. Open 'ExecuteNVRSQL.bat' file in Notepad.

c. Search and replace the text 'sqlcmd.exe -S' with 'sqlcmd.exe -S .\<YourInstanceName>', Where <YourInstanceName> will be the SQL server instance which had got installed in test machine

d. Then replace the text '%~dp0\..'with batch file folder path (i.e 'E:\DVD_670.20\VMSSetup\Common')

e. Save the .bat file and run the batch file in command prompt.

21. Before restoring DB having VMS Components, user should ensure WIN-PAK is installed with the required video drivers.

22. Server & Client machine should be in same DNS network for VMS client connection with WIN-PAK server machine.

23. If users drag and drop the panels from one communication server to another one, user has to manually restart the communication server for making panel online.

24. User will not get retrieval video from Maxpro NVR, if the recording duration is less than a minute with low resolution.

Workaround: Disable & Enable the camera in Maxpro NVR.

Recommended recording duration should be more than 1 min, if users recording the camera with lower resolution (Ex: 320x192 & 640x368).

25. Steps to be followed while installing SQL Server Manually:

1. SQL Installation mode should be mixed 2. SQL Server should run with the ServiceAccount - “LocalSystem”. 3. “Builtin\administrators” group should be added as SQL admin accounts. 4. TCP/IP should be enabled. 5. Named Pipes should be enabled.

Do these steps during or after SQL server installation but before you start WP install.

26. A NetAXS anomaly will retain an Access Level name that is deleted in WIN-PAK. This name is visible only via the NetAXS web browser and is attached to no cards so there is no risk. When a new Access Level name is added in WIN-PAK, the name seen in the NetAXS web browser will be overwritten (WINPAK-3439 and is related to NAXR5-245)

WIN-PAK XESEPE 4.0 is released for Windows 8.1, Windows 2012 R2 OS Support with SQL 2012, VMS R300 SP1 SP2 support, MAXPRO V2.5.1 SP1 B35, Hybrid V3.0 B45 Rev B, Pro3200 panel, Auto download for NetAXS & P-Series Panels, VMware 5.1 Support and few defect fixes.



The Backup and Restore utility will support restoring of the following Builds: B670.14, B670.16, B670.21, B670.21.1.0, B670.25 and B673.1. Support direct upgrade (install on top of) from B670.14, B670.16, B670.21, 670.21.1.0, Build 670.25 and B673.1.

In earlier builds (670.21.1.0) user has to manually install SP1, SP2 on top of VMS R300. In this build, this operation is automated. WIN-PAK install shield will install VMS R300 SP1 & SP2.

Support for MAXPRO NVR 3.1 Build 65b requires manual installation of the MAXPOR NVR 3.1 driver on the WIN-PAK server and clients. Driver (500-00918V6-T5-B_MAXPRO_VMS_NVR_3.1_DRIVER.zip) available in the Utilities folder on the WIN-PAK 4.0 software DVD or available from the Honeywell Download Center.

Full installation of VMS and SP1 & SP2 patches can take up to 90 mins. Un-installation can take a similar amount of time.

Before installing WIN-PAK with VMS build, the below pre-requisites should be considered
