The role of the local safer future communities network
• Gather information and evidence around local community safety needs and how the VCSE can contribute to meeting these
• Influence the PCC candidates’ manifestos
• Influence the PCCs crime and policing plan
• Ensure excluded groups and the vulnerable are heard and represented
• Build links between the network and other strategic partners
• Provide evidence of the success and impact of the network and of lessons for policy makers and practitioners

• Co-ordinate and manage a diverse network
• Identify training and support needs of network partners

• Expressions of interest were sought from local support and development organisations
• Opportunity advertised through NAVCA membership
• Applications assessed based on relevant experience in community safety field, network creation and influencing commissioners
