P&F Meeting: TBA in the School Library at 7.30pm. All Stars disco: What a great evening! Thank you to the Year 3 parents and in particular Deanne Brown for organising the SHPS All Stars disco last Friday. The hall looked amazing, the food was great, the DJ fantastic and children looked fabulous and all had a blast. Deanne put in a huge amount of work and has certainly left a tough act to follow. Thanks also to the pre-primary for assisting on the night. P&F Office bearers and committee members: The P&F does a valuable job in our school community and your support is required for the Sacred Heart P&F office bearer positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer in 2015. Nominations can be made at the P&F Annual General meeting which will be held on Wednesday, 26th November from 6.30pm in the School Hall. If you have any interest in nominating for these positions or as a general committee member please don’t hesitate to contact one of the existing office bearers or your P&F class representative. The P&F need you! Swimming training: The P&F is funding the hire of one lane at Beatty Park on Friday mornings ONLY (7.30am to 8am) for students in Yr 3 upwards (entrance fees will apply but spectators (parents/guardians) should not be charged). The P&F have also purchased 20 kickboards for use at swimming training – these should help those who are not strong swimmers! A special thank you to Sonia Koroll and Clairly Lance for their time and expertise in helping the children improve their swimming skills. It would be great to see as many come along to training as possible. School Fete 2015: In the coming weeks there will be some flyers sent home to families regarding sponsorship of the rides at the School Fete. We really need some businesses to get behind our day, in return there are some fantastic marketing opportunities – and as we’re a Not-for-Profit, all donations are tax deductible. Contact Alysha Cass on [email protected] for more details. School Fete Craft Group: We will once again be having a fabulous arts and crafts stall at the 2015 School Fete. We’re 12 months out and are looking for eager parents & friends to join in and assist with the creation of the goods that will be sold on the day – this is a great way to meet some likeminded parents from the school, all welcome. Contact Danielle at [email protected] for more details. Sacred Heart Annual Magazine: As many of you will be aware, Sacred Heart puts together an annual magazine which is largely made up of photos the children at events throughout the year. If you have any photos from any of these events that you are happy to share please forward to Clairly Lance at [email protected] as soon as possible. Just a reminder of some of the events - Easter egg raffle, family fun night, Mothers Day stall and Mothers Day breakfast, Adidas fun run, Bunnings sausage sizzle, IGA cake stall and sausage sizzle and Fathers day breakfast, and the two discos (gee we have been busy). Gingerbread House Workshop: For the past few years, the P&F have held a Gingerbread House Decoration Workshop in the lead up to Christmas. Unfortunately this year, our usual organisers are unable to run the workshop. The P&F are thus seeking two volunteers to take on this super-fun and super-rewarding task. The workshop is simple to run, and the lucky volunteers will be given all the instructions and guidance they require. If you can help run the Gingerbread House Decoration Workshop this year, please contact Juliet Bruining on [email protected] or 9328 3009. Fundraising: Bubbler Deals: Recently the P&F received a cheque from Bubbler Deals as part of their community fundraising. If you purchase a voucher from them you just need to nominate Sacred Heart Primary School Highgate and we will receive 5% (See attached flyer). Fundraising: Crazy Camel Fundraising (Artwork): is due in by Wednesday, 5th November 2014. School Bags - Old style school back packs are available at $60 and new trolley bags (no school logo attached) are now available at $75. Please see the office staff if you would like to make a purchase. P&F Second Hand Uniform Stall: Please note that there are now a large number of grey boys shorts and blue sports shorts in a range of sizes in the second hand uniform stall. Why not grab a spare pair or two. School banking: - School Banking takes place every Tuesday morning in the library from 8.30-9am. For any school banking queries, please contact Linda Manno on 0408 935 702. Clairly Maine (P&F Chair - [email protected])

Student Art Collection – Fundraiser Last term most students from PP to Yr 6 created their special masterpieces which will be reprinted onto calendars, greeting cards and other great gifts for family and friends. The students went to a great deal of

effort and their art is truly amazing!! Ordering is super easy, simply indicate what items you wish to order and we will collate your child’s artwork with your order. You can also submit a favourite photo online as another option. Examples of the calendars and cards plus extra order forms are in the school office. (also attached to the newsletter). Please place your order and payment (cash or cheque made out to SHPS Parents & Friends Association) in an envelope marked ‘art fundraiser’ and hand into the office. All orders must be received by 5th November to allow enough time for production and delivery back to the school before term finishes.
