31 Club for Vocations Schedule
31 Club for Vocations Members of the 31 Club agree to attend mass on a particular day
of each month and offer this mass for those who are currently
ministering to us as priests, deacons, consecrated women and for
those men and women who are discerning such vocations. We
need new parishioners to join us in this important ministry. Call
Jim Toohey at (814) 864-2145 with your name(s) and the day of
the month you will attend mass. God will bless you. To ask God
to nurture and sustain those he has called to service say this
prayer:
O God, who wills not the death of a sinner, but rather
that he be converted and live, grant we beseech you, through the
intercession of the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, Saint Joseph, her
spouse, Saint Junipero Serra , and all the saints, an increase of
laborers for your Church, fellow laborers with Christ to spend
and consume themselves for souls, through the same Jesus Christ,
Your Son, Who lives and reigns with you, In the Unity of the Holy
Spirit, God forever, and ever. Amen

This bulletin is furnished to Saint George Parish at no charge. The advertisements that appear on the last pages of this
bulletin completely defray all publishing costs that the Church would otherwise be responsible to cover. Saint George Parish patronizes our sponsors as a thank you for their generosity!
Food Pant News St. George Teachers are the Best!
Thank you to Principal Allison Reynolds and the St. George teachers for donating their “Jeans Day Pay” contributions to purchase paper goods and toiletries for pantry families. What incredible team work! The teachers purchased 65 gift bags, and an assortment of items including: toilet paper, tissues, bar soaps, shampoos, deodorants, tooth brushes and toothpaste. Over 25 teachers packed the bags and delivered them to the Food Pantry storage area for distribution this week. Our pantry families are most appreciative as their limited budgets are especially stretched at Christmas time. Thank you to the St. George Prayer Shawl Ministry for donating $45.00 to our food pantry this Christmas season. This donation helped with our purchase of Christmas hams. No one in need of food this Christmas season was turned away thanks to the generosity of St. George parishioners.
Two important lessons in today’s gospel speak to anyone who has
ever felt afraid or uncertain; stressed or confused. No matter what
is happening in your family, remember, “The Lord is with you.”
The angel reminds us, “Do not be afraid” for “nothing is
impossible with God”.
Christmas - The birth of a baby reminds us of our past ("Thus the
total number of generations from Abraham to David is 14
generations" Mt. 1) and into our future (What will this child
become?) Today, ponder the lives of your ancestors and your
unknown future together.
