The Refrigeration Safety Awareness (RSA) Course is designed to educate employees on the dangers involved in an operating refrigeration plant At the successful completion of this course, you will be prepared to:

Note that prior to the BCSA exam you will also be required to participate in a plant specific training.
A Refrigeration Safety Awareness certificate holder is entitled to watch over the plant named on his/her certificate;
however, the certificate holder is not permitted to operate the equipment or carry out any repairs.
The BCIT Refrigeration Safety Awareness course follows the syllabus and the topics sequence set by BC Safety Authority.The course is divided in 4 sections:

refrigeration plant
Each RSA section consists of:
1. Multimedia presentations that will familiarize you with the topic• Note that the presentations
are designed to complement the textbook and not substitute the textbook study
AND
2. RSA textbook, separated into 4 sections and matching the content and the sequence of the BCSA syllabus.
