Hi readers - a very busy week at the theatre as we prepare for the Bryan Adams concert - also our team are putting together the final preparations for our Christmas programme with great cheer as they imerrse themselves in the spirt of Christmas - yes it’s early yet but it’s a lovely time at the Royal as the magic of Christmas starts to creep in. There’s a lot of interest in combining the Imelda May show with office parties and it’s a cracker of an idea! We offer pre-theatre dining before all our shows at Christmas, and after-work get-togethers as well.

Also on sale this week is the Christy Moore concert on Fri 2nd Jan, 2015 - a rare performance from Christy as he will be joined by a band of four musicians with whom he has been tentatively arranging his songs with; Máirtín O’Connor (accordion), Cathal Hayden (fiddle/banjo), Seamie O’Dowd (guitar) and Jimi Higgins (percussion).

Join us in The Royal Theatre for Midwest Radio’s Hospice Coffee Morning on Thurs 18th September. This is Ireland’s biggest coffee morning and it’s fun-filled with entertainment, while also fund-raising for your local hospice. If you’ve never been to this annual event then make a date to join us this year. You arrive at 9am and you’re treated to piping hot coffee and a scrummy biscuit! At 11am we ask you to take your seat for our special 2-hour variety concert featuring the best in music, song, dance and comedy. Famous for his shows in Las Vegas, the legendary Brendan Bowyer and his Band will perform all of his many hits in this concert of pure nostalgia. Brendan, today, has the same high energy for which he was renowned for in the exciting days of The Royal Showband and The Big Eight.Special guest on the night will be his daughter Aisling, who has her own highly rated show in Las Vegas.

The stature of the The Royal Showband was phenomenal - the Beatles played support when The Royal Showband toured Britain, having been voted Britain’s Most Outstanding Dance Band on BBC Television’s Come Dancing in 1962. ‘The Hucklebuck’ which was the biggest of Brendan’s 6 Number 1 hits, went Platinum internationally. The band’s documentary movie The One Nighters received a special award at The Cork Film Festival in 1963. His come-back album Follow On was Record of the Month in Hot Press.

So, have you got what it takes to beat the Kube? Boots Castlebar, in conjunction with the Royal Theatre, will be hosting The Kube and bringing an evening of fantastic entertainment to Castlebar, while raising some much needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society. The Kube is based on the concept of the popular ITV game show, hosted by Philip Schofield, where contestants are asked to complete a number of games that test their nerve, ability and determination. We are looking for 42 contestants to take part on the night. One lucky winner will take 1st prize of €1,000!

Conal brings his own hilarious comedy show of non-stop comedy to the Royal Theatre.
