Advertising and Award Guidelines

ADVERTISING GUIDELINES

Please abide by your provincial real estate board award advertising guidelines.

*The year an award is achieved must always be indicated wherever the award is referenced i.e. marketing materials, website, social media etc.

AWARD GUIDELINES

The highest sales award earned, in any given year is to be used by the sales representative (or team lead). For example, an agent who has achieved President’s Gold award in a given sales year has not also achieved the Master Sales award and Sales Achievement award. Similarly an agent who has earned the Diamond award has not also achieved the Director’s Platinum award. Only the highest sales award achieved is what is to be used by the agent in advertising or promotion.

The only instances where additional sales awards earned may be used is if an agent has also achieved provincial and/or national Top Ten status, Award of Excellence/Lifetime Award of Excellence, or any one of the Royal LePage Canada awards: A.E. LePage Agent of the Year award, the Top 35 Under 35 or the Rookie of the Year award.

If an agent has not met an award threshold, an allowance of 2% is permitted.

TEAMS AND AWARD LOGO USAGE

As it relates to Royal LePage sales awards, at no time is a team member (aside from the team lead) to use the award logo earned by the team as to give the impression that “they” as an individual earned the award.

In an advertisement, which includes a team picture, one award logo is to be used with the team name duly noted (not one logo for each member of the team).

HOW TO DETERMINE WHETHER YOU QUALIFY

Award of Excellence: recognizes consistency in sales excellence for those who have achieved the President’s Gold award or better, for 5 out of 7 consecutive years.

To determine your 5 out of 7 consecutive years, always count back starting from the most current sales year. For example, for the 2018 sales year, count back from 2018 (as year one) back to 2012 (as year seven). If within those seven years, you have earned five President’s Gold awards (or better) then you have achieved the Award of Excellence.

An agent can lose the Award of Excellence. If after having achieved it, an agent does not maintain the President’s Gold award-level or better, for 5 of 7 consecutive years continously, the designation drops and the award must be re-earned.

Lifetime Award of Excellence: is earned 10 out of 14 consecutive years, again counting back from the most current sales year as year one.

Lifetime National Chairman’s Club: is earned 10 out of 14 consecutive years, again counting back from the most current sales year as year one.

Note: In new developments the unit is to count upon receipt of first commission payment received (as some developers stagger commission payments over the period the development is being built.)

AWARD ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for award recognition, a Royal LePage agent must be registered with Royal LePage during the awards year period and on the date of the Regional Awards Gala where the winner will be recognized.

A Royal LePage agent who leaves Royal LePage, or has expressed his/her intent to leave Royal LePage will forfeit his/her right to be considered for award recognition for the previous or current award year, including National Chairman’s Club and Top 10 awards:

• where intent to leave or leaving occurs after award determination (award winner has been announced), but prior to the winner being recognized at a Regional Awards Gala, the award is forfeited; and

• where intent to leave or leaving occurs after award determination (award winner is recognized at a Regional Awards Gala) for the previous year, reference to the agent and his/her rank (if any) will be removed from all Royal LePage awards lists and marketing and promotional materials and channels.

Royal LePage National Chairman’s Club Award

LOGO VARIATIONS*

CRITERIA

The top one per cent of Royal LePage agents, and based on either gross, closed and collected commissions or number of closed units sold.

To qualify based on closed units sold, a Royal LePage agent must also have, at minimum, closed and collected the GCI required to qualify for the Royal LePage Diamond Award in their marketplace.

DESIGNATE CRITERIA

If joining Royal LePage after February 1 of a calendar year, and the recipient has qualified for

the National Chairman’s Club Award, then the recipient is considered a Designate. The year a ‘Designate’ status is earned cannot be counted towards ‘Lifetime’ status.

LIFETIME CRITERIA

Attain ‘Lifetime’ status after 10 out of 14 consecutive years in standing.** Only the member (if a team, the team leader) who earned Lifetime National Chairman’s Club is permitted to use the logo. It is not transferable.

CRITERIA

Members of the Lifetime Chairman’s Club become candidates for the Royal LePage Hall of Fame twenty years after earning their first National Chairman’s Club award. The selection committee will consider currently practicing Lifetime members of the National Chairman’s Club who have maintained continuous, unquestionable excellence at the highest level of the profession. Inductees will be people who have had a significant, positive impact within the industry and Royal LePage; people who are well regarded by their peers; and who are recognized as significant contributors to the communities in which they live and work.

CRITERIA

Recognizes in ranking order at the national and provincial levels, the top ten Royal LePage sales teams and individual agents, based on closed and collected GCI, and number of closed units sold. In order to qualify in units, the agent’s GCI must be at the Top Tier level (Director’s Platinum or higher.)

DESIGNATE CRITERIA:

A prestigious award that recognizes the best of the best of Royal LePage agents based on:

Productivity: closed and collected GCI and closed units sold

Leadership: active within organized real estate, attends Royal LePage events and engages on Royal LePage social media channels

• Participant best lives our ‘Helping you is what we do.™ Client Value Proposition (CVP), through community involvement, Shelter Foundation involvement and support, effectively helping clients (evidenced through a written client testimonial)

• Engaged with the Royal LePage brand, through the use of our products and services, training/coaching programs and being an effective brand ambassador (including brand compliance)

AWARD RECOGNITION

This award is given to one Royal LePage agent in each region: British Columbia, the Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and the East Coast, with one national winner selected from the regional winners. In Quebec, the award is called the “A.E. LePage Broker of the Year”.

All regional winners will receive a registration to the National Sales Conference where the national winner is announced.

CRITERIA

Candidates must be licensed for two years before eligibility. This permits for 12 full months of income to be taken into consideration.

For the 2018 sales year, candidates must be first licensed with Royal LePage within the period of November 16, 2016 and November 15, 2017.

FREQUENCY

Eligibility is the award winner’s first year in the industry.

QUALIFICATION PERIOD

The qualifying GCI or units, in the event of a tie, are monies earned in the first 12 months from the agent’s start date, (closed and collected).
