Rowland Unified School District Elementary Instrumental Music Program BAND SUPPLY LIST Below you will find a list of music stores where you can obtain a quality instrument and book. While we do not recommend any particular store, there are a number of music stores in our general area who have instruments for rent and stock the necessary books. ALL INSTRUMENTAL STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE THEIR BOOKS AND INSTRUMENTS BY THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 5, 2016. LOCAL MUSIC STORES ROWLAND HEIGHTS MUSIC - 19760 E. Be sure the store is willing to apply the rental fee toward the purchase price of the instrument. The instrument should be in good playing condition and contain all necessary accessories (valve oil, reeds, cork grease, swab). Personal music stands are recommended. !!PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE AN INSTRUMENT ONLINE!! Many instruments come unassembled and need to be professionally set-up and adjusted to play properly. The $99.00 special IS too good to be true! If you have your own instrument, we advise that it be put in good playing condition before the first lesson in order to give your child every opportunity for success. The music stores listed above can be contacted about repairs. MUSIC BOOKS Students are being asked to purchase their own music books for several reasons: first, they are able to use the books to make notations, which will help them in playing the music. Secondly, we encourage students to practice during summer vacation and having the book will allow them to do so. Finally, in order to provide the music department with cost savings so that it will be able to purchase additional concert pieces for students, we need your help in providing the books for your child/children. INSTRUMENTOS La mayoría de las agencias musicales rentan instrumentos nuevos y usados por $18 a $45 al mes.
