Internal Temperature measurement possible in 2004

Rotolog

Open FlameIAT is cheap and simple for Rock & Roll, using thermocouples and hand held thermometer

IAT is possible for biaxial ovens using proprietary systems like Rotolog or K-Paq

Measure the Internal Pressure

Control Pressure

If vent becomes blocked internal pressure will increase. Zero pressure makes it harder to eliminate air bubbles.Variable pressure will obtain faster cycle and better quality.

Internal Pressure monitoring possible

Internal Pressure monitoring is possible for any mould or machine combination using a proprietary system like K-Paq, from 493K

New machine technology is now available from Persico in the form of SMART Leonardo to monitor and control pressure.

Internal Pressure ‘control’ possible

Low cost ‘automatic’ vents are now commercially available, in the form of Supavents or Smartvents. These are silicone tubes that have slits which are closed during heating stage and opened during cooling stage.

Bubbles and pinholes can be reduced and impact strength increased, when compared to an standard ‘open’ vent

Internal Cooling – Faster cycles

Control Internal Temperature

3Internal Air Cooling - Use air to blow inside the mould to exhaust the hot air, but slow because of low heat transfer.Internal Water Cooling - Use fine water mist inside to remove heat at high speed by vaporizing into steam.

Rotocooler

Internal Cooling – Faster cycles, less warpage

Rock & Roll technology – Cheap and simple for Rock & Roll machines to deliver Air or Water mist inside moulds.Biaxial technology – Low speed internal air cooling possible on most modern machines using venture or transvectors. High speed internal water cooling possible using proprietary systems like Supacool or Rotocooler .

Moulders must

recognise the value

of technology, rather

than the price of it.1

Moulders must not

accept the status

quo, and need to

recognise that

changes cost

money.2

The Future of Rotomoulding is here now!

Moulders need to have full control over all process variables to provide consistent part quality and significantly reduce cycle times
