Chairman´s Report

20 students from different countries, plus local youngsters who had just returned from similar experiences abroad – Rebounds- and the local YEP team and families participated of intensive orientation presentations: habits, culture, health, general rules, medical information – dos & don´ts – Q&As and supervised social time.

We had the official opening Saturday morning , August 24, by our District Governor Wellington Hoshino and local YEP officials and counselors. Our programming last for a week, until Friday, 27.

After the unique one hour the group was taken for a presentation by maestro Ostergren

himself on Brazilian History and Culture. The inbounds received a membership card

and will be able to attend tlassical shows and/or music classes.

SESC – Serviço Social do Comércio SESC provides sports, culture, theater, shows, special courses and conferences. It is similar to the services of the YMCA, although it has its own mix of activities. The group was received and taken on a guided tour by the director, William . Some of the students are already attending the sports programs at SESC.

Friday, 29:

Projeto Pérola is a unique NGO, not for profit organization, which provides tech-educational services for underprivileged students. It works closely with the city government in 36 educational public units helping children and young people to learn information technology and other subjects.
