Story:

A cozy oversized “Saturday morning” kind of sweater but with the feminine lace touch. Even lazy days can be pretty!

Skill Level: Intermediate

Gauge: 22 sts x 30 rows = 4” in Stockinette stitch 21 sts x 27 rows in lace pattern. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles/hook to obtain the gauge given. Pattern Stitches: Horseshoe Lace Pattern (multiple of 10 + 1) Row 1 (WS): Purl. Row 2: K1, *[YO, K3, SK2P, K3, YO, K1]; repeat from * to end. Row 3: Purl. Row 4: K1, *[K1, YO, K2, SK2P, K2, YO, K2]; repeat from * to end. Row 5: Purl. Row 6: K1, *[K2, YO, K1, SK2P, K1, YO, K3]; repeat from * to end. Row 7: Purl. Row 8: K1, *[K3, YO, SK2P, YO, K4]; repeat from * to end. Repeat these 8 rows. 3 Needle Bind Off: Turning work inside out, move to 2 needles with half of work on each needle. With 2 needles parallel, insert a 3rd needle knitwise into the first st of each needle. Wrap the yarn around the needle as if to knit. Knit these 2 sts together and slip them off the needle. Knit the next 2 st together (same manner). Slip the first st on the 3rd needle over the 2nd st and off the needle. Continue until all sts are bound off. Garter Stitch: While working flat, knit every row. In the round, Knit one row, Purl the next row. Stockinette Stitch: While working flat, Knit one row, purl the next row. In the round, knit every row.

Back: CO 111 (121, 131, 141, 151) sts. Knit ½” Garter stitch, ending after RS row. Change to Horseshoe Lace Pattern. Work even until body measures 13 (13, 14, 14, 15)” Shape Modified Drop Armholes: At beginning of next 2 rows, BO 10 (10, 10, 20, 20) sts. Continue in pattern until back measures 19 ½” (19½, 21½, 21½, 23½)”, end after a WS row. Shape neck: Work in pattern across 28 (33, 38, 33, 38) sts, PM, knit in pattern next 35 sts place on holder for neck edging later. Continue across pattern on remaining 28 (33, 38, 33, 38) sts. Join 2nd ball of yarn at other shoulder. At each neck edge BO 5 sts twice.—18 (23, 28, 23, 28) sts each shoulder. Continue in pattern until body measures 21 (21, 23, 23, 25)”. Work even until sleeve measures ½” less than desired length or 22 (21½, 21, 22½, 22)” from shoulder. Work in garter stitch for ½”. BO. Neck Band: With right side facing and circular needle, pick up and knit approx. 60 sts along front neck edge and 60 sts along back neck edge.—120 sts. Place markers at shoulders. *Purl 1 round. Knit 1 round, decrease 1 st at each shoulder marker. Repeat from * twice. Purl last round. BO. Finishing: Sew body side seams. Sew underarm seams to first 2 (2, 2, 4, 4)” of sleeve, then sew sleeve together downward. Weave in ends. Block. Schematic:
