Rolling diaphragm pumpprovides pulsation-free air flow
Rietschle Thomas Products, based in Wisconsin, USA, hasdeveloped a Model 1101miniature compressor, whichincorporates a ‘rolling dia-phragm design’ which is said tocombine the best features ofrotary and diaphragm pumps.Rather than moving up anddown, the Model 1101 pump’sdiaphragm rolls in the cylinder. This increases airflow relative tosize and provides an extremelyprecise flow with limitedpulsation, the company says, adding that, like conventionaldiaphragm pumps, the Model1101 is gas-tight and delivershigh-end pressure.
Because of its oil-less design andcompact size, the Model 1101 issuitable for medical, laboratoryand industrial applications. Aspecial motor enclosure andbuilt-in resonator can limit thepump's noise level to 45 dBA.
The pump measures 70 mmlong, 27 mm in diameter andweighs 75 g. Maximum flow israted at 3.2 lpm. The maximumpressure rating is 500 mbar (7.3psi). The Model 1101 pump isavailable in both 5.5 and 12VDC versions and incorporateslong-life EPDM (ethylene-propylene rubber) diaphragmsand valves.

Scanpump launches newprocess pump BE
Scanpump, the pulp and paperspecialist in the ABS Group, haslaunched a new range ofprocess pumps, called the BEseries.
It is designed for pulp and paper applications, thecompany says.
The BE series is said to havedense coverage and high andwide efficiencies which can helpimprove runnability and flex-ibility and thus help minimiseoperating costs.
The BE series is said to have hasa robust design offering a highreliability and simplified servicethat suits the demand for a longtime between the shorter andshorter service shut-downs.Thedesign is user-friendly reducesmaintenance costs to a mini-mum, Scanpump claims.
The BE pumps are completelyintegrated in the Scanpumpdesign philosophy concept;Pump Seal Integration (PSI) and also in Scanpump Pulp MillInstallation concept (PMI).
