LIVE FREE AND SURVIVE! The Manchester Monarchs will battle the Norfolk Admirals in the 2014 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The Monarchs enter the postseason as the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, while the Admirals are positioned as the eighth seed. Manchester has a 2-2-0-0 record against Norfolk in four match-ups this season, with the home team winning in each contest. In their last meeting, Norfolk defeated the Monarchs, 4-1, at Norfolk Scope Arena on Saturday, March 1. Overall, the Monarchs have an 18-15-2-5 record against the Admirals in 40 contests dating back to the 2001-2002 season. Defenseman Andrew Campbell (0-3=3) and center Ian O’Connor (0-3=3) lead healthy Monarchs players with three points against the Admirals this season. Campbell has registered his three points in four games while O’Connor has three points in only two contests. Center Antoine Laganiere (2-1=3) leads active Admirals skaters against the Monarchs with three points in four games. The best-of-five series will begin at the Verizon Wireless Arena for Games 1 and 2 on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26, before heading to Norfolk for three potential games.

A YEAR TO REMEMBER Manchester finished the season with a 48-19-3-6 record and 105 points, clinching the Atlantic Division title and the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. It is the third time in the team’s 13-year history that they have won the Atlantic Division title and only the second time the Monarchs enter the playoffs as the top dog in the Eastern Conference. The Monarchs set new team records with a .691 winning percentage through the regular season, the highest in team history; 19 regulation losses were the lowest in team history; and their 105 points were the third most in team history. The Monarchs, who own the rights to the home-ice advantage through the first three rounds of the playoffs, were especially dominant at home this season, winning a franchise-best 28 games at Verizon Wireless Arena.

ROLES REVERSEDThis is the second time that the Monarchs and the Admirals have faced one another in the Calder Cup Playoffs. The two teams met in the 2012 postseason, with Norfolk seeded as the number one team in the Eastern Conference and Manchester slotted as the eighth seed. Norfolk won the series, 3-1, ending the Monarchs’ playoff aspirations that season. The Admirals then went on to become the 2012 Calder Cup Champions.

TWO-FOR-ONE MEAL DEALThe Monarchs are proud to partner with Jokers Bar, Grill, and Arcade in offering a meal deal before the game! Bring your ticket to Jokers Bar, Grill, and Arcade on South Willow Street and receive two meals for the price of one before any Monarchs game.
