The main goal of the Research Alliance DOCAM is to implement new tools and methodologies adapted to the Conservation and Documentation of artistic practises involving media technologies. During the five years tenure of this project, many case studies will address preservation issues of Time-based media art work as well as peculiarities of archival collection composed of technologically based information carrier materials.

Obsolescence : How to counteract

To migrate an artwork involves upgrading equipment and source material.

Emulation

To emulate a work is to devise a way of imitating the original look of the piece by completely different means.
