Bone China Care Instructions

Bone china can be washed in a dishwasher - at a maximum temperature of 60°C. However, where precious metals are used (gold or platinum) ware should be washed by hand and not used in the microwave.

Scouring pads or abrasive washing agents must not be used. Soaking in warm water before washing will remove most stains or hardened on particles. Stubborn stains can be removed by soaking in a mild bleach solution for up to one hour without damaging the china.

When storing plates, try not to slide them over one another as this may cause tiny scratches in the glaze. We recommend a paper napkin is placed between each plate.

SPECK

Every piece in the Speck collection has a unique identity - decorated with a seemingly random array of dots.

When bone china is fired, metal elements in the clay can react leaving tiny black dots on the otherwise perfect pieces. These black dots are known as speck. Traditionallymanufacturers have selected their ware, reserving pieces with speck for designs that cover up much of the bone china.

The Speck collection challenges tradition by celebrating these random and unavoidable imperfections. Wherever a speck appears, it is covered by a small, circular copper dot. The pieces are finished with cobalt blue edging. The result is a refined and graphic collection where no two pieces are the same.

REFLECT

‘Reflect’ brings life back to antique saucers, missing their other halves, by using platinum and gold gilding to create highly reflective cups. The mirrored cups reflect the patterned saucers, uniting them as perfect couples.

Each cup is skillfully hand painted and then paired with a saucer, that Richard meticulously sources himself from antique dealers across Britain.
