Rhyming Cut & Paste

Rhyming is a vital building block in your child’s development, even before she can read! DIRECTIONS: Cut out the pictures and paste them on the corresponding rhyming mats (1-5). Say each picture’s name as your child glues them down. (Picture names are included.)






Mat 1: CAT



hat, rat, mat, fat, bat, & flat



Mat 2: BELL



smell, fell, shell, cell, well, spell



Mat 3: SHIP




lip, drip, rip, tip, whip, zip


Mat 4: TOP

Directions: Draw a line to the picture that rhymes.



Clip a Rhyme

Print off onto cardstock, cut apart into strips like the example below & laminate for durability.

Directions: Child identifies the first picture, names the other pictures, then uses a clothespin to clip the one picture that rhymes with the first one.
