GROWTH Robert G. Rhoads founded Rhoads Co in 1964. His perseverance through times of hardship and times of plenty, laid the groundwork for today’s successes. Richard Rhoads (Bob’s son) is now the President of the company and Jamie Pack the Vice President. Westin Rhoads (Rick’s Son) is highly involved in Day to Day business operations and E.J. Martinez (Rick’s Son-in-Law) runs the Commercial and Residential Building Divisions.

Legacy of Quality

Since its formation, Rhoads Co has grown to become one of the largest commercial plumbing, heating and air conditioning contracting firms in southeastern New Mexico with con-tracts ranging from $1K-$15,000,000. In addition to the contracting division, Rhoads Co’s service department is highly respected both from owners of residential homes, along with, commer-cial and governmental entities. The residential and commercial building division has expanded rather quickly because of the Quality Workmanship of the Rhoads Co Team. The Company is incorporated under the laws of New Mexico.

The Company is employee owned, and, has approximately 50 to 60 employee team-members. Rhoads Co prides its self on having developed a loyal and capable staff by recruiting from the local and surrounding areas. Many of the team-members are skilled and licensed as installers, tradesmen and project managers and have been with the Company for a considerable tenure, making for a very stable and loyal workforce. Incentive programs are de-signed to motivate employees and add to profitability. In 2003, the Rhoads Co. Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) was established.

Builders and Contractors Inc. A 4 year program which includes both college class work and on the job training. Every team member applying for this program is put through a full background check and interview process with the Associated Builders and Contrac-tors Committee. Upon completion, the apprentice graduates the program and obtains Journeyman status at Rhoads Co. This company standard is set to train, improve, and build the quality of the company’s future workforce.

Rhoads Co knows the importance of a safe work envi-ronment and safe work practices. From employment screening and random drug testing for the protection of our customers and our team members to extensive safety training and certifications to prevent acci-dents, safety is a priority.

Rhoads Co is a charter member of Builders Trust of New Mexico and is monitored by a field safety staff to reduce risks on the jobsite. They are one of only 30 New Mexico contractors selected to participated in a new pilot program “Safety First”. This program requires additional OSHA training and certifications for all field personell.

2014 Russell Sigler Award The Russell Sigler Award was created to recognize true icons in the HVAC industry. Russell Sigler is the owner of Russell Sigler, Inc, the distributer of Carrier equipment in the Southwestern US, and at 97 years old is still active in the business today. Mr. Sigler is one of the few people remaining who actually studied under Dr. Willis Carrier, the inventor of the modern air conditioning system in 1902. Given these credentials, Mr. Sigler knows what to look for in strong, reputable and distinguished heating and air conditioning contractors. This prestigious award in his name, is presented to Carrier Factory Authorized Dealers who exhibit excellence in customer service, loyalty, sales growth and longevity.
