Deseamos muchas felicidades a todos esos seres que tomaron la dichosa opción de ser madres, bien haya sido por gestación, bien por propia voluntad de brindar cobijo maternal y apoyo incondicional a niños y niñas en orfandad.

Más allá de la gran campaña implicada en el oficio de ser mamás, este mes dedicamos un especial a las madres que, además, trabajan y que lo hacen en su propia empresa, con la abrumadora responsabilidad de sacar adelante su negocio, generar fuentes de empleo, ser innovadoras y al mismo tiempo, dirigir amorosamente, un hogar. Se trata de mujeres que tienen la rara habilidad de hacer malabares para compatibilizar el trabajo con la maternidad, y por si fuera poco, ser exitosas y felices en ambas arenas.

No en balde las madres son y serán el centro y soporte de las familias, y por ello cada año las festejamos en grande. Sin embargo, recordemos que, para demostrar a mamá todo lo que la queremos, no basta un día al año. Su denuedo maternal es incansable y cotidiano. Por eso, viene como anillo al dedo la frase célebre: “El día de las madres debería ser todos los días.”¡Muchas felicidades a todas las madres de Vallarta y del mundo!

We wish happiness to all those people who took the fortunate option of being mothers, whether is by pregnancy, or by voluntarily providing maternal shelter and support to orphaned children.

Beyond the great campaign involved in the craft of being moms, this month we dedicate a special to mothers who, in addition, work in their own company, with the overwhelming responsibility to carry ahead their business, generate sources of employment, be innovative and at the same time, directing a home lovingly. They are women who have the rare ability to juggle to combine work with motherhood, and if that wasn´t not enough, to be happy and successful in both arenas.

Not in vain the mothers are and will be the center and support of families, and therefore each year we celebrate them big time. However, remember that, to show mom how much we love her, it is not enough one day a year. Her maternal boldness is tireless everyday. Therefore as the famous phrase says: “mother’s day should be every day.” Congratulations to all the mothers of Vallarta and the world!

Acompañado por autoridades de Puerto Vallarta y Riviera Nayarit, el Sr. Francisco Beltrán recibió con honor la encomienda de encabezar y representar a AMAV (Asociación Mexicana de Agencias de Viajes) de Puerto Vallarta y Riviera Nayarit, con el fin de sumarse al impulso y promoción de nuestra Bahía. Con ello adquiere el compromiso de establecer nuevos estándares en el servicio de calidad hacia nuestros turistas, lo cual se definió como “turismo de reuniones y vacacionistas” nacionales y extranjeros, a quienes se invitará a visitar con más frecuencia este maravilloso destino. La toma de protesta estuvo a cargo del Lic. Jorge Hernández, Presidente de AMAV Nacional, quien convocó a coadyuvar en la reactivación y posicionamiento turístico de nuestro Puerto y de Bahía de Banderas para, trabajando en conjunto, atraer a un mayor número de vacacionistas, compartirles las bondades naturales de nuestra Bahía, y estar en condiciones de ofrecer mejores ofertas y promociones para los próximos meses, cuyo obligado fin es reactivar la economía de nuestra Región.

Accompanied by authorities of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, Mr. Francisco Beltran, received with honor the entrusted of lead and represent AMAV (Mexican Association of travel agencies) of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, in order to join and promote our Bay promoting and acquiring the commitment to provide a service of quality to our tourists, which was defined as ‘meetings and vacationers tourism, both national and foreigners”, who will be invited to visit more frequently this wonderful destination. The swearing in, was in charge of the Jorge Hernández, National President of AMAV, who convened to assist in the revitalization and positioning in terms of tourism and our Port and the whole Bay, by working together, and bringing back more vacationers, and be able to share the natural benefits of our Bay, with the goal of offering best deals and promotions for the coming months as well as have the firm intention of reactivating the economy of our Region.

Demetrio Maduro, de procedencia panameña y con un cariño especial por Puerto Vallarta. En su honor se ofreció un coctel para invitados y colaboradores, en el jardín central del hotel. El Lic. Demetrio, se mostró contento y entusiasmado de regresar a México después de 12 años de ausencia, años en los cuales se desempeñó también como gerente en diversos puntos de Latinoamérica. El Ayuntamiento de Puerto Vallarta en conjunto con el Fideicomiso de Turismo, encabezado por el Sr. Ignacio Cadena Berand, proyectaron novedosas estrategias de publicidad para nuestro Puerto. La campaña se compone de spots en radio y televisión, anuncios impresos, redes sociales, las cuales son de fácil acceso y muy populares en México y el mundo. Se pretende difundir y promocionar al destino como una marca inigualable en comparación con otros destinos de playa de la República Mexicana.

Emocionados se mostraron los asistentes al primer jueves cultural, la inauguración se llevó a cabo el día 25 de Abril, en el área de exhibiciones de Plaza Caracol, dónde se dieron cita la Lic. Magaly Fregoso presidenta del sistema DIF Municipal de Puerto Vallarta, la publirrelacionista de la plaza Lic. Tere Marmolejo e invitados de diversas agrupaciones musicales que deleitaron a los espectadores.Cabe señalar que con estas acciones Plaza Caracol inicia lo que será “jueves de baile, canto y cultura”, para así ofrecer alternativas de recreación a todo aquel que acuda al lugar.

Surrounded by a modern décor and perceiving the breeze of the sea, the Hotel Marriot Casa Magna welcomed its new Manager, Demetrio Maduro from Panama, who has a special fondness for Puerto Vallarta. In his honor a cocktail party was offered to guests and collaborators in the central garden of the Hotel. Mr. Demetrio was happy and excited to return to Mexico after 12 years of absence, years in which he served as a Manager in various parts of Latin America. Luciendo muy enamorada y radiante, la ex Reina de Belleza de Puerto Vallarta con más títulos ganados, Bernie González, contrajo nupcias con su novio Mateo Gómez, brillante abogado y hombre de negocios, los cuales por más de 2 años vivieron un noviazgo pleno y lleno de ilusiones. Acompañados de sus padres y hermanos, los novios unieron sus vidas ante el altar el pasado 13 de abril en la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, celebración en la que además cientos de invitados fueron testigos del culmen de su amor. Sus padrinos de velación fueron Brando González y su esposa Filippa Giordano, renombrada cantante italiana de ópera pop y poseedora de una voz extraordinaria, quien engalanó la ceremonia interpretando el Ave María, brindando así un momento sublime al enlace. Al terminar la ceremonia religiosa, los invitados se reunieron con los nuevos esposos para festejar su matrimonio en “Mundo Nogalito”, en donde rodeados de vegetación y con luces coloridas que iluminaban sutilmente los árboles, se propiciaba un ambiente romántico e íntimo sin dejar el toque lounge y moderno.

Cabe resaltar que Bernie, ha ganado 3 títulos de belleza en Rusia, además de haber estudiado actuación en la Ciudad de México y Psicología, siendo ésta última la profesión que ejerce. La feliz pareja, se encuentra viajando por Europa, disfrutando de sus primeros momentos como esposos en su luna de miel, en las que durante un mes tendrán la oportunidad de celebrar esta nueva etapa de sus vidas.

It should be noted that Bernie has won 3 beauty titles in Russia, in addition to having studied acting in the City of Mexico and Psychology, the latter being the profession that she exercises. The happy couple, is now traveling around Europe, enjoying their life as husband and wife on their honeymoon, which during a month willhave the opportunity to celebrate this new stage of their lives.

Acompañados de amigos y clientes que han estado presentes a lo largo de la historia de las ediciones, nuestra revista Vallarta Important People, celebró a lo grande una década ininterrumpida de publicación con el lanzamiento de una plataforma web y la publicación de un planning guide MI BODA VIP, que promoverá Puerto Vallarta y Riviera Nayarit como los mejores destinos de boda de México. EL Coctel estuvo amenizado por música de jazz de Martin Montenegro acompañado por la fantástica voz de Vania Guzmán, mientras los invitados disfrutaban de unos ricos martinis y deliciosos canapés. Más tarde, en el interior del Barra Bar, los asistentes disfrutaron del espectáculo y de música del recuerdo, para bailar y seguir con la alegría del evento. ¡Felicidades The V.i.p. por estos 10 años!

El Centro universitario de la costa organizó, con gran éxito, el festival de arte y poesía “Letras en la mar”. La inauguración fue en los arcos del Malecón, pero contó con diversas sedes, entre ellas una en Villa Leonarda, durante la que se ofreció una cena, una presentación de joyería de la artista Gabriela Sánchez, y un recital en el Fiesta Americana. Al finalizar, los invitados disfrutaron de uncoctel y de una amigable charla entre personalidades de la talla de Diana Bracho, Hugo Gutiérrez Vega, Bernard Pozier, Luis Armenta, Elsa Cross, Carmen Villoro, Karina Macías, Francoise Roy, Zelene Bueno, Víctor Ochoa, Jorge Souza y Ramón Domínguez.

The Centro Universitario de la Costa organized with great success the festival of art and poetry “Letters on the Sea”. The inauguration was by the arches of the Malecon, and comprised various headquarters, including a dinner at Villa Leonarda featuring with the jewelry of the artist Gabriela Sanchez , a recital at the Fiesta Americana Hotel and at the end the guests enjoyed a cocktail. From different countries, personalities such as: Diana Bracho, Hugo Gutiérrez Vega, Bernard Pozier, Luis Armenta, Elsa Cross, Carmen Villoro, Karina Macias, Francoise Roy, Zelene Bueno, Victor Ochoa, Jorge De Souza and Ramon Dominguez, came to delight us.

Laurel Carrillo rindió su último informe ante autoridades, empresarios y miembros del comité de Ciudades Hermanas Puerto Vallarta/Santa Barbara, ya que culmina su periodo como presidente con grandes logros, entre los que destacan los apoyos económicos directos a la casa hogar Máximo Cornejo y la Clínica de rehabilitación Santa Barbara por $90,800.00, el patrocinio de dos artistas Vallartenses para exponer en Santa Barbara, la donación de equipo de Bomberos, de un camión de basura para el H. Ayuntamiento, cursos de capacitación para policías, el Festival I Madonari ,y una gran promoción turística para el destino en diferentes foros, entre otros beneficios. La nueva mesa será presidida por la maestra Cuquis Caballero por el periodo 2012-2015. Al finalizar la sucesión, disfrutaron de un delicioso coctel amenizado por la gran voz de Perla Alarcón. ¡Muchas felicidades ¡

Laurel Carrillo presented her report in the presence of authorities, businessmen and members of the Committee, she ends her term as President with great achievements, notably direct economic support to the Máximo Cornejo Foster Home and the Santa Barbara rehabilitation clinic, for $90,800 pesos, sponsorship of two artists from Vallarta to exhibit in Santa Barbara, several donation of fire-fighting equipment, a garbage truck for the City, different training courses for the police, the Festival I Madonnari, and a great tourist promotion for the destination in different forums in Santa Barbara, among other achievements. No es que estén hablando mal de ti….

Puede ser un problema de la articulación temporomandibular la cual está formada por la mandíbula y el hueso temporal, o sea, es la bisagra que abre y cierra la boca pero además de abrirla y cerrarla se mueve para atrás, para adelante y para los lados y todas las posibles combinaciones que esos movimientos pueden generar. Es la articulación mas olvidada en el área médica porque los dentistas de práctica general no quieren saber nada de ésta articulación por considerarla muy compleja y los médicos en su mayoría la ignoran.La gente de habla inglesa denomina éstos problemas de la articulación como TMJ (temporomandibular joint), y ya ni siquiera se molestan en definirla como desórdenes, dolencias, dolor etc..simplemente al decir TMJ lo asocian con un padecimiento. Según mi forma de pensar ésta denominación es errónea porque está dándole un nombre a las manifestaciones de un problema de mayor complejidad. Este padecimiento es un problema multifactorial debido a que se involucran distintos componentes del sistema masticatorio como son las piezas dentarias. Los músculos, las estructuras de la articulación, el sistema nervioso y un componente que algunas veces es un factor determinante—el stress. Todo éste conjunto de factores en desarmonía ocasionan lo que según yo, debería llamarse, desórdenes del sistema masticatorio.

Algunos autores denominan a éste problema como -síndrome doloroso miofacial-, término que me parece también limitado porque además de los músculos de la cara, duelen los del cuello, los del cráneo, los de la nuca, la articulación misma y los dientes que se pueden tornar dolorosos, con desgaste y con movilidad. Esto se acompaña en sus etapas mas avanzadas con chasquidos al abrir y cerrar la boca y en ocasiones en etapas aún más avanzadas la boca se traba al bostezar o al abrir grande. Hay pacientes que confunden los dolores de la zona del cráneo con migraña y son tratados con medicamentos ignorando que el factor mecánico por disfunción de los mencionados elementos del sistema masticatorio pueden ser los causantes.

Estos desórdenes tienen su origen en las alteraciones del cierre dentario por pérdida de dientes y su falta de reposición; por trabajos odontológicos mal elaborados; por alteraciones en la armonía de las arcadas dentarias solo por mencionar algunos. Una gran cantidad de personas tiene en mayor o menor grado algún tipo de alteración del sistema masticatorio por lo que es importante que cuando visite a su dentista le pida que verifique si sus dientes están desgastados, si el plano de su mordida está alterado (oclusión dentaria), si tiene movilidad en algunos dientes o si tiene alguna pieza dentaria dolorosa aunque no tenga caries.

A veces los problemas empiezan con algo que parece insignificante y se van agravando con el paso del tiempo. Muchas veces la tortícolis (cuello torcido) puede ser causado por problemas de desajuste en el cierre dentario y no necesariamente porque durmieron con una almohada muy alta o que tuvieron la cabeza inclinada durante toda la película (en el hombro de su pareja) o que como en los comerciales de la TV por girar el cuello rápido y forzado para ver pasar a una bella dama o a un guapo galán.

According to my way of thinking this is wrong, because this name is designating the manifestations of a more complex problem. This condition is a multifactorial problem due to the involvement of different components of the masticatory system, such as the dental pieces. The muscles, joint structures, nervous system and a component that is sometimes a determinant factor…stress.

This whole set of factors which cause disharmony, in my view, should be called disorders of the masticatory system. Some authors refer to this problem as-myofascial pain syndrome, a term that also seems limited because besides the muscles of the face, neck ache, the skull, the back of the neck, the joint itself andthe teeth may become painful, with attrition and mobility.

This is accompanied in its later stages with clicks when opening and closing the mouth, and sometimes in even more advanced stages the mouth is locked when yawning or opening large.

Some patients mistake the pain on the skull area with migraine, and are treated with drugs, ignoringthat the mechanical factor mentioned as dysfunction of the masticatory system elements, may be responsible. The disorders are originated by work poorly done, by alterations in the harmony of the dental arches, by loosing teeth and lack of replacement of them, just to name a few. A lot of people have a greater or lesser degree of some kind of alterations of the masticatory system, so it is important that when you visit your dentist, you would ask to verify if your teeth are worn, if the plane of their bite is altered (dental occlusion), if you have mobility in some teeth or have tooth pain even without caries.

Sometimes problems start with something that seems insignificant and usually increase over time. Often torticollis (wry neck) may be caused by problems in the closing gap tooth and not necessarily because you slept with a pillow too high or had your head bowed (watching a movie) on the shoulder of your partner) or, as in the TV commercials, you are forced for a fast turn neck to see a beautiful lady or a handsome hunk.

No fue fácil, ya que estábamos atravesando por la etapa de la influenza, pero así es esto: se empieza de abajo y, poco a poco, el éxito se va dando conforme pasa el tiempo, las puertas que se van abriendo, sobre todo si le pones paciencia y fe”. Con respecto a la bravura de la mujer, nos comparte que “…una mama trabajadora tiene dos empleos: ser madre y su profesión. Hay que obtener un buen equilibrio entre ambos, organizarnos y aprovechar al máximo nuestro tiempo.
