Retail Business Project. Guidance Document 1 INSTRUCTUS: Retail Business Project Guidance Document No.1

What is a portfolio?

For Retail Team Leader (Level 3), a portfolio refers to the E-Portfolio folder in your Instructus Learner Account. The E-Portfolio is where:

You upload the Synopsis for your Retail Project Store all the evidence for your Project e.g. Word Docs, PDFs, Audiofiles etc Will be where you have access to Guidance Documents (such as this document) Where you will find your assessment feedback (marked for relevant assessments)

What is Evidence?

Evidence can be divided into two categories – direct and indirect.

Direct evidence may include the following:

Personal reports Word documents of evidence you have researched Minutes of meetings relating to your project Internal and external correspondence Promotional materials (you may have developed or will be using) Product evidence e.g. examples, samples, photographs Video or authenticated audio tapes

Your project Synopsis will contain an outline of the diversity of evidence you will need to support your Retail Business Project. The above list is by no means exhaustive and you should speak with your Employer/Training Provider and Assessor (at Synopsis interview) if you have questions..

Indirect evidence may include the following:

Witness testimonies (within the organisation – and without if it is relevant to your Project) Achievements i.e. piloting areas of your Project to demonstrate proof of concept Attending courses and/or additional training relevant to your project

You may ask if Indirect Evidence has any bearing on your Project. It can indeed as it may be used to support or confirm elements of your direct evidence.

Please refer to Retail Business Project (Document 2) for an explanation of the structure of a Retail Project and what constitutes Pass criteria and Distinction Criteria. If you have any queries about grading requirements please refer to Document 2 and speak to your Assessor at Synopsis or by emailing and requesting further information of his/her grading criteria for this Standard.
