As a Field Software Engineer with Engility, Fort Hood, TX, (March 2005 – May 2014), Mr. Whitaker

was assigned as a Field Software Engineer Level II for Tactical Mission Command (TMC), at the Central

Technical Support Facility (CTSF), Ft. Hood, TX, in support of III Corps and Subordinate units.

Responsibilities included providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to the war fighter, in both technical and

operational aspects of Digital Systems; including Command Post of the Future (CPOF) and the Battle

Command Common Services (BCCS) server suite. This support also included loading and maintaining

software upgrades on all TMC related systems, exercise support (to include out of region deployments),

training in hardware configuration and doctrinal deployment of Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS)

assets, operator and administrator level system training and hardware maintenance, compatibility and

accreditation testing of technical expertise based on past experience.

Use role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures to instruct students

in the operations and maintenance of the ABCS in use.

Proficient in the management and operation of NetApp products such as FAS2020 and FAS2270.

Ensure network, system and data availability and integrity through preventative maintenance and

upgrades.

Implement company policies, technical procedures and standards for preserving the integrity and

security of data, reports and access.

Administer and maintain both client and server level computers using Microsoft Windows; including XP,

Vista and Windows 7 and both Microsoft Server 2003 and 2008 operating systems.

Function as a Help Desk Support Technician both deployed and during military events.

As a Brigade Operations Sergeant with the U.S. Army, Ft. Hood, TX, (June 1994 – March 2005) Mr.

Whitaker supervised and developed 4 squad leaders in a 21-man Brigade Operations section. Training

included the set-up of the Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelter (DRASH) system and all related equipment,

sustained operations of not only current military operations but future (planned) operations and

intelligence (S-2) both at Ft Hood and in Operation Iraqi Freedom with emphasis on MCS, CPOF and

FBCB2/BFT systems.

Supervised operations personnel in a Brigade Tactical Operations Center (TOC) both in local training

environments and as a deployed combat force.

Ensured the swift and accurate flow of both information and battlefield assets with no loss to mission
