Broadened the technical development center knowledge base into emerging technologies for yarn and fabric that brought forth salable new products and current running products.

Strengthened technical tribal knowledge beyond current state. Found, fostered, and developed new products through fiber, fabric, construction, wet processing and dry finishing techniques that met specifications.

Ensured all products developed met and preferably exceed the established Ralph Lauren color and physical specifications including but not limited to sustainability, physical testing and color retention. Directed the smooth flow of new color development on the basic mesh weathered program for Men’s Sportswear. (Blue Label polo pony shirts that are the flagship product for Ralph Lauren). Well versed in all phases of dyeing, printing and finishing knit and woven fabric.

Interacted a minimum 4 times a year with trade groups and was the company’s technical face. Problem solved fabric, yarn, & garment process and procedure issues on production products.

Polymer Group Inc., Benson, NC 2001 - 2001The third largest manufacturer of non-woven engineered fabrics with sales of $900 million to the apparel, automotive, home fashions, hospitality, medical and industrial applications. Product Development / Project Manager Directed and led the project management and product development focus of two Senior Development Scientists, two PD technicians and one expeditor in APEX® technology and Miratec® fabric innovation. This comprised the Imaging/Hydro-enhancement Group and the Apparel Bottomweight Group focused on developing innovative nonwovens into fabric for multiple industries. Increased productivity 25% on a major hydro-entangled fabric napery product. Facilitated project completion of imaging fabrics into production. (Next Big Thing). Managed a $2.0MM budget for the combined imaging/apparel groups. Planned and specified the pilot line and physical testing laboratory expansion. CONE Mills, Greensboro, NC 2000 – 2001The largest manufacturer of denim and khaki fabrics with sales of $500 million primarily to apparel manufacturers.Manager, Technical Services Managed and directed the activities of a three department, nine person technical staff. This comprised Technical Analysis, Technical Customer Support, and Color Technology.

Developed, implemented and directed proactive technical service support program. Managed an $800M Technical Services budget and brought in under target. Directed successful customer issue resolution project resulting in fewer returns. Ensured the smooth transition of new fabrics into customer facilities: fewer complaints. Increased the use of color technology in manufacturing and shipping to customers. Digital imagery and electronic reporting project shortened the time for results of analysis. Directed data collection project in MS Access for testing, fabric specs, color shade tapering. Established database of information on Intranet for cross functional access and input. Integrated Technical Services into manufacturing operations to increase productivity.

Dyadic International, Inc., Greensboro, NC & Jupiter, FL 1993 – 2000A biotechnology company with sales of $20 million resulting from the development and manufacturing of enzymes for textile/apparel, animal feed, pulp/paper, biomass and brewing.Vice President - Product Development/Technical Services 1996 – 2000Planned, directed and managed all technical functions, product decisions, and sales support functions for a $20MM biotechnology/specialty chemical company. Planned, designed, contracted the work and started up a 3150 sq. ft. applications lab facility, sample shipment area and analytical lab in Greensboro, NC under budget in 121 days.
