  • While working at Kirkor I focused on residential design. I modeled a single

family home in Revit and produced the

construction drawings for its renovation. I worked to create

    high-rise multi unit condo construction

    documents. I produced shadow

studies for a site sensitive project and

designed a number of details for a pedestrian

entrance overhang of a residential building

    in the Toronto area.

The focal point of the design for an urban retreat in the heart of Torontos

Forest Hill neighborhood is the dining space where visitors can socialize and

the experience is heightened. The separation of the dining hall as its own entity was achieved through a change

in materiality and composition. A sensitivity to the surrounding context

led to the project settling into the landscape and avoiding interference

    with the adjacent residential area.

The design of the house on a roof was addressed with a strong regard for site and orientation. The separation of program into three distinct parts allowed for control

in respect to views and natural light. The work area is intended for a photography

studio where there is no entry of direct sunlight. The entrance to the home over

a bridge through the nearby building connects the home to its context.

The festival of sukkot allows a re-examination as to how we understand shelter. Shelter has always been a part of nature and humanity; therefore the reconnection to the environment is an essential part of the design.

A large entry invites the guest to enter the sukkah. Enveloped in a translucent screen, the sukkah allows light to penetrate the space inside, as well as creates an inside-outside connection. Warm browns that are dark at the

bottom of the sukkah and lighter at the top draw the eye towards the sky and the greenery above.

The play of light and monument were the focus for the design of a gate

to an imaginary city of Italo Calvinos Invisible Cities. This gate re#ects the

multitude of paths and connections in the city of Esmeralda.

  • This project was for a competition to design a pavilion in

the quad of Kerr Hall at Ryerson University.

The design looks to maintain the existing

green space while creating a multilevel

space where students can, sit, walk, stand,

    play and observe.

  • A sensitivity to the context led to the implementation of two service boxes that act as bu$er zones to prevent noise pollution

to the neighborhood. The north box contains a ramp that acts as the entrance to the night club and a place to meet. The dance

#oor and lounges are contained in volumes suspended over the restaurant below. The play of material qualities and spacial

di$erences lead to a unique sequential experience.

  • The approach for O!ce 2020 is a connection to the surroundings in creating outdoor spaces on the building. These spaces can be used by the public and the employees and will be an informal place to meet and engage each other. Inside is

a reading room where employees can go for a di$erent quiet environment to work and will be used by the public as a shared working space. The program of the o!ce area is a place where business owners come to collaborate and engage each other in their work. For this reason the programming is structured in a way that small business owners are members of an organization

that allow them to share facilities, rent meeting rooms and have private spaces.
