Sole Manager of a $7M+ design/build overhaul of an abandoned 20,000 sf grocery store into

a 200 person call center with offices, café, board rooms, and an IT center; expedited programming, design, construction documentation, and construction administration to ensure completion of the project in five months, meeting client requirements for zero operational disruption.

Led $3.5M historic preservation project, designing and converting a three-story masonry

building from 1902 into a mixed-use facility consisting of a restaurant, two night clubs, a banquet facility and office suites. Worked with Historic Preservationist who set parameters for existing architectural features that could not be removed or demolished in order for Owner to earn tax credits for historical preservation. Assistant Project Manager ▪ PEASE AND SONS 1988-1990

Assisted Sr. Project Manager with the construction management of a new $28 million treatment plant which was constructed around an existing, smaller, outdated treatment plant. Once the new plant was in operation, the existing one was demolished and the new one was completed in place of the existing plant. Responsible for the review of all shop drawings, coordinated the fabrication and delivery of rebar, scheduled subcontractors and supplier deliveries. Developed and expedited Field Orders and Change Orders. Managed project from a jobsite office.

Regained $1M “left on the table” during the bidding and negotiation process through proactive coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, installers, and fabricators.

Shelter Survey Technician ▪ FEMA—U.S. GOVERNMENT College Summers

Worked in mobile units of ten interns for three consecutive summers surveying the structure of public and commercial buildings for the use in Crisis Relocation Placement (Fallout Shelters). Reported to unit supervisors. Traveled to locations for survey work. Headquarters were in local armories. Areas of survey included southern Minnesota, central Illinois, and southern Indiana.

Developed efficiencies for analyzing building structure including aperture openings. Calculated variables and characteristics to determine quality of shelter for public usage.
