Rejuvenation Process taken up by BBMP

The Lakes are surveyed & certified by Tahasildar for fixing Lake

boundaries

Encroachments removed

The Lakes are Fenced using Chain link/RCC/MS poles

DPRs are prepared for Comprehensive Development Plan.

The lake Rejuvenation Team comprising Engineers, Environmental Engineers, Forest Officers working in coordination with Ornithologists, Environmentalists, Academicians & RWA’s .

The phase wise Development of lakes is taken up involving following steps

Diversion of dry weather flow (Sewage inflow)

Engineered wetland treatment for wet-weather flow (storm water)

Setting up STP to maintain Water balance in lakes

Construction of silt traps

Desilting of lake to restore to its original holding capacity

Improving inlets, construction of catch drains etc.

Afforestation etc.

Role of BBMP for Maintenance of Lakes

Attend immediately to any violations reported by the Company/RWA’s.

Ensure that no sewage or chemical pollutants enter the lake.

Periodically desilt the Sedimentation Tank/Silt Traps.

Ensure that any required repairs to footpath, structures and other civil works

etc are attended.

Providing Electric & watering facility to Garden & toilets.

Nominate an officer as the contact person to interact with the Company.

Role of the NGO's / RWA’s & Organizations for Maintenance of Lakes in BBMP

Maintenance of Path way, plants & Garden area.

Regular house keeping activities

Regular Removal of solid wastes if any dumped in the lake area.

Maintaining the immersion tank & children play equipment.

Removing of weeds in the water body & sedimentation tank.

Installation of Signage Boards.

Allow access to public at scheduled prescribed hour.

Qualcomm trough UWB has Funded for STP at Kundalahalli Lake for an amount of

Rs. 1.25 Crore.

GE has trough UWB has Funded for STP at Kundalahalli Lake for an amount of Rs.

1.00 Crore.

Total Environment has taken up overall Development of Hoodi Lake.
