To the Malaysian at large, I would like to say that any endurance or anything that you would undertake, do it with full commitment and understand what you’re doing. Basic requirement to achievement is to have interest and understanding on what you like to do; anything you do without understanding or interest will fail.

The above thirukural resonates with Thayananthen’s way of life, an endeavour commenced to assist his late brother to become a medical doctor. The struggle

in getting a medical seat at a prestigious university led to the formation of Magaram Enterprise in 1997 jointly with his late father Dato' M. Varatharaju and late brother Dr. V Sathiananthen. “ At that point of time not many local universities offering medical degree course to Malaysian. The management of Magaram led by myself took lots of effort to get the Kursk State Medical University, Russia to be recognized by the Government of Malaysia, comprising the Malaysian Medical Council [MMC] and Public Service Department. The university was offi cially granted recognition on the 7th of August 2001. With that we could provide opportunities for thousand of Malaysian students and students abroad to obtain their medical degree or achieve their dream as medical practitioner in a prestigious university with lowest possible cost or fee structure,” Thayananthen told Malaysian Indian Business Magazine.

Learning is a wealth that none could destroy; nothing

else gives genuine joy.

He further explained “ During this time period, we had helped the government of Malaysia, particularly the Ministry of Health to achieve its motion in reducing the ratio between the doctor-patient in Malaysia from 1:800 to 1: 400. This was our major contribution to solve the problem of acute shortage of doctors in Malaysia during 2004/2005. In 2005 we assisted the government by offering medical seats to all 123 STPM straight A students who could not secure medical seats in the local universities to pursue their medical degree at Kursk State Medical Univesity, Russia.” The Ipoh born, University of London Law graduate also played a vital role during the crisis of the recognition issue of a few medical universities from Ukraine. While leading Magaram, he offered assistance to qualified students getting transfer from Ukraine to Kursk State Medical University with the blessing of MMC. “As the CEO of the business establishment, I have also provided input to the Ministry of Higher Education[MOHE] in observing practice to ensure students going abroad for medical degree studies by obtaining a Non Objection Certificate[NOC] from the Ministry concerned.”

Business, Law, Engineering and IT degrees. Since 2009, we have moved to widen the scope of our business by forming a new company known as Neuroset (ME) Sdn Bhd with Thayananthen as President/CEO of the company, assisted by Dr S.R. Sen Gupta as Chairman and Former Deputy Foreign Minister Dato’ A. Kohilan Pillay as advisor and a team of 23 Malaysians staff force.

The core reason for me to get into the Education Industry was to seek an opportunity for my late brother in pursuing medical degree studies at a prestigious medical university during 1993 as there were a limited number of universities providing medical studies in Malaysia then. As time passes I realize it is a noble service to the community and I have personally funded up to 10 needy students' degree studies at Kursk State Medical Universities.

Beside that I gained lots of personal satisfaction in many occasions when I received compliments from the parents of students who get an admission into medical university. All this made possible as to date I have managed to observe the requirement to select students who are qualified within the embed of academic requirement set by the Ministry of Higher Education for those who intend to pursue medical degree studies abroad. Former Dean, Professor Dr Ludmila Antonia says during their University Senate Board meeting that Russian Universities highly prefer Malaysian Students due to their enthusiasm and dedication towards their study.

IRRESPONSIBLE COMPETITORS SUPPORTED OUR GROWTH

The competition in this industry arose during the year 2004 at high level where by many irresponsible recruiting agents mushroomed throughout the country and recruited students whom are not qualified within the specifications or academic

qualifications imposed by MOHE. The implications had been that such students not being able to cope with their studies while some of them upon graduation not been able to cope with rigors of medical practices. However, I am so glad that the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health has now decided to introduce and enforce a minimum level of academic qualification for students intending to study medicine or dentistry abroad. This is a very difficult task between the two ministries, however, to achieve this I am sure both ministries had done a lot of research in harmonizing the situation and possibly bring it as a rule in the future. I take this opportunity to congratulate both the ministries.

“As far as my involvement in the business, I wish that I had known about Russian, Russian language and culture prior to my engagement with this business,” he responded to the Malaysian Indian Business question of what do you wish you knew about your business before you started it? The challenges among others if off course the lack of financial support for well qualified students to study medicine or dentistry abroad.

The business world can be extremely cut throat for many entrepreneurial minds, great power-driven and hard to break into it. In such a competitive entrepreneurial

environment, where do you fl inch with your idea or competency if you have a vision, a dream of being a successful businessman? For all this you need to have one clear thing in your mind, goal and vision for a successful entry. One should be extremely focused and motivated to create its place in the business world. All this seems to be more diffi cult than it sounds. But people have done it several times and created history. So why to consider such people and business minds? To inspire people, stories of daring skirmish and heroic businessmen against the odds, endurance and ultimate victory have always been discussed not only to give them hope but also the courage to fi ght and kind of strategy that can create a difference in the present business world.

More or less half of the world’s billionaires made their riches from scratch that relies on will power and determination. Many of these self-made business people are college or high school dropouts. The most famous example of the billionaire

dropout is Microsoft’s Bill Gates. But what makes them the rag to rich was the long time they spent becoming someone who people recognize. But no the competition is fast and time is less. Entrepreneurs work hard, but some lucky one gets the place, here they are recognized by general public. For young minds and energetic entrepreneurs the competition is tough but there are many opportunities they can work on. Steve Jobs one of the youngest entrepreneurs of that time and whenever we talk about him only one thing comes to our mind, Apple. He was in those youngest entrepreneurs who were not just only a

maker of a company but also an innovator. Grabbed ideas and combined with such effectiveness that made him one of the youngest entrepreneur billionaire.

Mark Zuckerberg These people belong to such developed nation where technology has taken its part. Like one of the most tremendous names of young billionaire history, Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook social media and currently has the net worth of

around $13.5 billion. Mark is one of the idols for the young minds to evolve as a multi-millionaire or a billionaire

tycoon through new upcoming technology. Like Jan Koum, the owner of Watsapp and currently a part of joint venture of Facebook. He lived most part of his life in poverty, but the land of opportunities gave him the path of technology to

make its way into a billionaire list.

Ramesh Babu But there are still some developing countries where billionaire makes their way through things that hardly matter in any other country like the story of Ramesh. Ramesh Babu a 40 year old young entrepreneur, billionaire from India, whose father died when he was only 7 years old. All he left to Ramesh was a barber shop. Ramesh remembers that their family lived on one meal a day due to poverty. Ramesh earned a diploma course in the fi eld of electronics with his mother support and after that he decided to run the barber shop. Ramesh decided to buy a Maruti Car for his personal use in 1994. He then later on decided to lease the car because of less usage. After that he bought six cars and rented all of them. Luck and hard work were with him and the business of car rental started attracting customers from the travel and tourism business. Later he acquired more cars from a bank loan during 1994 and 2004 and offi cially started a company known as Ramesh Tours and Travels. As more cars came in, more rentals and eventually more cash came in. Ramesh now has possession of a more or less 154 luxury cars of popular brands like Toyota, Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, BMW and a Rolls Royce.

“Though I’m young, I don’t really do things the way

most youngsters do. Perhaps most youngsters will consider many factors,

do a lot of research, do a lot of talking, a lot of surfing on the web, before they really start

doing something. For me, I only think for a short while. Of course, we must still take calculated risks. But I’ve always felt the only way to attain

the desired outcome is to do it!”Dennis Ng,

Founder of Einsoon Pet Supply

Dennis Ng Competing in such a developing country is not easy as it may seem but in some

it is like Dennis Ng who did not have to look much further. He used to live with his family consisting of six members in a flat and was

too poor to even think about a job he actually wanted to do for a living. He stays put and remained hopeful and studied hard apart from the hardship he countered with a life of poverty. He obtained a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute and during this he worked as a part time teller at Cold Storage. But today Dennis Ng is the creator of Einsoon Pets Supply which is a

distributor of pet food, spruce products and cat litter in Singapore and its profits rising by the year, all this at the age of 23.

Yoshikazu Tanaka Like many other young entrepreneurs the name of 36 year old billionaire Yoshikazu Tanaka from Japan and also in Asia cannot be forgotten. He is the founder of one of the greatest social networking website, GREE. The net worth of his company is $1.9 billion. Tanaka started the company GREE to look after his growing internet business which is administered in Tokyo, Japan. This is a media company which develops apps and games for cell phones and Smartphones. It has subjugated the Japanese internet system. But lately it has activated getting durable opposition from Google Play and Apple Store. And according to Forbes Tanaka is likewise one of the richest individuals in Japan.

Yusaku Maezawa Looking at many people around us, any one of them can be the next billionaire. Most of us are broke and have nothing. But on the other hand, there are many who handfuls are. So

what makes someone out of the blue into a billionaire? The idea, which unique sense of thing that other doesn’t have or just didn’t click in to his or her mind.

That idea or creative thinking doesn’t need boundaries or limitations. It just needs a push, a strategy like the one with a Yusaku Maezawa

business strategy. He is a former Japanese rock performer who underway selling CDs and band named and designed garments

online at the start of 90’s. Later he underway a business called Start Today. Not only had this he started an eagerly fruitful e-commerce site

named Zozotown. This site is set up like a mall. This mall kind of site has diverse shops for diverse categories of fashion and other goods that are

all vended on the shipment. The business has doubled over its value every day. Zozotown currently has over 3 million subscribers from the date it was first established. Maezawa is a 35 year old billionaire with a net worth of $1.0 billion and his business is still thriving regardless of inflexible trade and industry times stroked elsewhere in the world.

Yoshikazu Tanaka, an avid video gamer as a child and launched the

company in 2004 and was named as Asia’s youngest

Firstly, your brand strategies should be based on your company's goals. Brand strategy is the how, what, when, and to whom you plan on communicating your

product or service. Having a clear and concise brand strategy leads to stronger overall brand equity as on how people feel about or perceive your product, and how much they are willing to pay for it.

Let's clear up the biggest misconception about brand strategy right now. Your brand is not your product, your logo, your website, or your name. It’s what your customers perceive about you, and how you make them feel. Chances are you're not the only company out there selling your product or service. Figure out what your company does best beyond what you sell, and make it a part of your brand strategy. For example, Apple doesn’t just sell computers and music equipment; it sells well-designed products that are easy to use. Are they the best computers on the market? No. (Well, I guess that depends on what side of the Mac-PC debate you're on.) But Apple sells a lot of them at twice the price because of the way Apple positions its brand in the market. This goes beyond your product itself -- it's about selling the problem you are solving.

Now that you have decided your key brand attributes, make sure it is clear and understood through all your communications -- especially inside your own company. Don’t talk about things that don’t relate to or enhance your brand. Added a new photo to Facebook ? What does it mean for your company? Does it align with your message, or was it just something funny that would, frankly, confuse your audience? If it doesn’t tie back

to your brand's message, you will have trouble differentiating yourself from competitors.

You might be thinking, “Volvo doesn’t say safety, safety, safety all the time, though.” But listen to how Volvo describes its cars and how long they last, as well as how it describes features. It all ties back to Volvo's underlying brand theme of safety, and customers know what they will get when they buy that product.

Find a way to connect to your customers on a deeper level. Do you give them peace of mind? Make them feel like part of the family? Do you make life easier? Connect with your customers on this point before and after a sale. Answer their questions and concerns on social media. A little goes a long way.

If you already have people that love you, your company, and your brand, don’t just sit there! Reward them for that love. These customers have gone out their way to write about you, to tell their friends about you, and to act as your brand ambassadors. Cultivating loyalty from these people early on will yield more returning customers, and more profi t for your business.

Sometimes, just a thank you is all that's needed, but great brands also tend to give more than that. Write them a personalized letter. Do you have some extra special funds? Sent it to them. Ask them to write a review, and feature them prominently on your website. For example, Porsche reached 1 million Facebook fans quicker than any other automotive brand, so to thank its fans, Porsche made a wraparound for its GT3 Hybrid that included all 1 million names. No doubt the car company also received an extra bit of buzz for it. And showing how happy your current customers are with your product certainly helps your sales organization, too, because it shows the positive end result of becoming a customer.

Just because you come up with a campaign to reinforce your brand strategy, doesn’t mean it will work. Best thing is to watch your return on investment as you implement new campaigns to strengthen your brand. If your brand isn’t resonating with enough people through the campaign, you have not given them a good enough reason to love you.

More importantly, check your marketing analytics for branded and organic search. If it goes up when you launch your campaign, it means people are hearing about your campaign and becoming interested in your brand. They are searching for you -- often by name -- because you have provided them with enough compelling content that they want to know more. Just don't get stuck on one tactic or campaign. By staying agile, you can better measure whether your tactics are aligning well with your overall brand strategy, and if they don't, you haven't invested so much that you can't re-evaluate.

Speaking of agile inbound marketing, in this fast-changing world, marketers must remain flexible to stay relevant. On the plus side, this frees you to be creative with your campaigns. If you remember one of the world famous brand, Old Spice generated quite the buzz over the last few years because it took its old brand and made it relatable to a new generation. Old Spice still held true to its brand; they just did it in a different, buzz-worthy way that opened them to a new customer market. I’m still talking about them, and that horse left the barn over a year ago.

So if your old tactics aren’t working anymore, don’t be afraid to change them just because it worked in the past. Take the opportunity to engage your followers in fresh, new ways. Are there some out-of-the-box partnerships your brand can make? Are there attributes about your product you never highlighted? Use those to connect with new customers and remind your old ones why they love you.

Take the competition as a challenge to improve your own strategy and create greater value in your overall brand. You are in the same business and going after the same customers, right? So watch what they do. Do some of their tactics succeed? Do some fail? Tailor your tactics based on their experience to better your brand and company. For too many years, American car companies ignored their foreign competitors. But they finally realized they needed to change their model for the changing times and tout a more fuel-efficient agenda to keep pace with foreign competitors.

That being said, don't let your competitors dictate each and every move. I started this blog post talking about why you're in business. Sure, you probably sell a similar product or service as many other companies. But you're in business because your brand is unique. By harping on every move your competitor makes, you lose that differentiation. And soon your customers won't be able to tell you apart, making it even easier for them to leave you.

Keep your eye on your competitors when experimenting with your brand strategy, just not a hawk's eye!

What are the Major Hindrances of the people of India origin doing Business Each Other?

Question:

Most of us only talk saying that we Indians should help each others, but in reality when you approach an Indian Company to support your business they will give 1001 reasons and excuses to avoid you, but they will be supporting other race business communities and how do you expect our Indian communities to win the business from others. I agree at one time there were less Indian business, but now it's different. 1st we have to be united and respect our community's business learn to help and support ourselves. Subra Dason, Operation Manager

If the basics are right, the product or service, the value that is offered, after sales, maintenance then I see no issue. Expecting to do business based on our origin and not the above has no meaning.Cletus De Rozario, Director

My view is that we need to work triply hard and quadruple smart to hone our skills and reputations so we are perceived as being Number 1 in our respective fi elds. Then business will fl ow in from all quadrants of society with no reference to creed or colour. Rajen Devadason, Retirement Specialist, Speaker, Author

Friends, from the observation of this discussion, I do agree color and creed not necessarily the prime measure for business transactions provided environmental factors are at optimum. Here in Malaysia it's more towards whom you know. S. Arikrishnan, Editor MIB

Good discussion and am following them with much interest. We will never get to the point of having an optimal environment outside. The best is we learn to survive in this climate as it would make us more determined to succeed. What we really need and you have identifi ed is "networking". Guess, we need to think deeper on how we can refi ne and get the benefi ts realized as a group. Any thoughts on "crowdfunding"?Mohan Manthiry, CEO

Why Indian? - Short answer - because I am Indian & proud of it. The views so far seem to indicate 'Malaysian Indian' - why limit to Malaysia only? Start, build, grow in Malaysia [the Entreprenuership climate is good & conducive], then go global - many Malaysian Indians have achieved in the global arena - get in touch with them.R. UNDERSTANDING DATA ANALYSIS

Data analysis is a process of seeking meaningful information from raw data and suggesting conclusions from the analysis done by using

some tools such as Microsoft Excel.

Why use Microsoft Excel? It has been shown to be widely popular and one of the more commonly used spreadsheet software that has a tremendous variety of built-in functions and features that can be tapped into the areas of informed decision making.

SELECTING LOWEST TWO QUOTATIONS FROM VARIOUS VENDORS

Let us look at a scenario as below. You are given raw data of various Vendors who had quoted their prices on a weekly basis from 5 Sept onwards.

How will you determine the two lowest quotations from above? By looking at the data, the lowest quotation for each week is highlighted in red. This process is automated using a feature of Excel called Conditional Formatting.

Next, how do you determine the second lowest quote from above and how do you automate the process such that if same Vendor decides to have a change of heart and reduce the quote?

Data Analysis Utilizing MS Excel

MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE• by Palani Murugappan

Page 28: RENOWNED INCUBATOR OF MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS AND PROFESSIONALS

Using functions of Excel, one can automate the whole selection process of the lowest and second lowest quotation automatically where if the user updates the figures from Vendors, the listing below will scan and select the lowest two figures automatically all the time.

The plot of the above data with the lowest quotation is displayed below and again, this plot of column chart will update itself automatically when the above figures changes.

The second lowest quotation is also plotted beside the above column chart to show a similar scenario. Note that it is quite possible for the same Vendor to quote the lowest and second lowest prices on a weekly basis.

Selection of Vendor is then based on criteria set by the purchasing department.

ANALYZING SALES DATA

In the next scenario, one is given the following sales data as below.

What information can we gather from the data above? In a real world situation, there are softwares to perform some simple analysis. However, if one is familiar with Excel’s functions and features, one can extract very specific information from the sales data above. Let us look at what information can be gathered.

For a start, the data above can be summarized on different cells to display a specific customer and the sales per quarter as displayed below. We can gather the maximum, minimum, and average value of the 4 quarters. In the screen capture

26

| NOVEMBER 2014

MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

Page 29: RENOWNED INCUBATOR OF MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS AND PROFESSIONALS

below, one can see that the maximum sales from Cust01 is in the 3rd quarter with a figure of 336 while the minimum figure from Cust01 is 215 which took place in the 2nd quarter.

The above data is linked to a pie chart that changes automatically based on selection of customer too.

Now, let us change the selection of customer to Cust04 form the drop down list of options.

Upon selecting Cust04, the maximum, minimum, and average value updates automatically as in the screen capture below

As can be seen, Excel is a fantastic tool to perform “what-if” analysis by choosing different customers from the drop down list of options. Again, the chart updates itself when a new customer is selected from the drop down list.

What other analysis can we gather from the sales data above? We can specify different criteria in different cells within the spreadsheet as follows.

In the above example, if the user selected the North Region with the criteria of sales greater than 200 for Quarter 1, the database functions of Excel can summarize and inform us that there is only one sales of value above 200.

However, if we change the region to West from the drop down list option, the figures are totally different as below.

27

NOVEMBER 2014 |

MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

Page 30: RENOWNED INCUBATOR OF MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS AND PROFESSIONALS

For the above West region, one can see that there are two instances when sales had exceeded 200 in Quarter 1 with the maximum value of 394 and minimum value of 242. If one is not familiar with Excel functions, the above analysis has to done manually by sorting the data and grouping the same categories of data together. This can be very cumbersome!

Going a step further, one has the option of changing the quarter to another. In the illustration below, Quarter 1 has been changed to 4 and the fi gures within the criteria updates automatically as can be seen below.

Finally, just like the Region and Quarters, the use also can specify different values for the quarters. In the above illustration, we had selected values greater than 200. By clicking on the drop down list option of this cell, the user has other option to choose from to (the options listed here are all user defi ned). If the user changes the option from “>200” to “<150”, the fi gures updates automatically yet once again as follows. As can be seen, there is only one occurrence of values less than 150 for the 4th quarter of the West region.

The above was a simple illustration of the type of analysis one can do to gather meaningful information from raw data using tools such as Microsoft Excel. Stay tuned for the second part of data analysis…..

STARTING A BUSINESSWHAT ARE THE BEST QUESTIONS TO ASK?

Entrepreneurs come in all shapes and sizes and personality types. Some are full of big ideas while others are better at execution. Some take big risks

while others play it safer. How long have you wanted to start your own business? A few months, a few years or more than a decade?

The starting point of a business model is asking some great questions.

Some of these questions are based on the book, Business Model Generation by Alexander and Yves Pigneur, will give you some key questions to ask.

These aren't easy questions to answer and at first may not seem to make any sense, in addition your answers are likely to develop and change throughout the evolution of your business. However, any attempt to answer them will give you a head start.

KEY QUESTIONS TO ASK?

Who specifically are your customers and how do you segment them?

Segmenting customers into groups according to their needs has a number of advantages. It can help you to focus your marketing on the customers who will be most likely to buy your products or services.

What value do we deliver?

This means that whatever you are delivering to your customer it has fi t the needs and purpose your customer will give to it.

Examples:

• If it is a car wash, the car has to end up clean.• If it is a cell phone, the phone must be able to receive a

signal, the customer must be able to dial a number and connect to someone on the other end of the call.

How do we reach our customers? What channels do we use?

Different things work. A retail store will do things differently than an accountant. How I got clients back when I was a full-time lawyer is different than what I do as a business speaker. There is no shortage of clever, inexpensive ways to drum up new business. Here are some ways to get new customers.

Examples:

• Print a fl yer. Create a coupon. Have a sale. Start a direct-marketing campaign. Launch or offer a new product. Get different people to check out your wares. Offering a different product or product line, and letting people know about it, does that.

• Get more clicks: While you can’t man the business 24/7, your URL can. Whether yours is a fully-empowered e-commerce site or simply an e-brochure for your business, the secret to converting that Web site into money is all in the numbers. The more people who visit, the more purchases may occur.

• Launch a PR campaign: Advertising is great and can lead to new customers for sure. Have someone else hype your business for you. That is where public relations come in. By getting a TV or a radio station, or a newspaper or magazine, to do a story on your business creates immediate third-party, trustworthy, validation of your business.

• Ask for referrals: A carpet business owner had a huge sign that said, “Our word of mouth advertising starts with you!” He then gave all referrers a $100 discount on future purchases.

• Smile and dial: Sometimes new business is simply a matter of prospecting. Whether it is making cold calls or sending out proposals, ever so often you just got to do it. Do some search engine research, get a list of potential leads, and get to it.

• Get (social) networking: More and more, people are going online to check out and chat about business choices. Most businesses and organizations dive into social media, hoping to increase brand awareness and acquire more customers. With millions of users on Facebook and Twitter, these platforms are a great way of raising your profi le. Firstly, it's important to channel your efforts into social networking sites most suited to your company.

How do we relate to our customers?

• Customer service: Good customer service is the lifeblood of any business. Good customer service is all about bringing customers back. And about sending them away happy - happy enough to pass positive feedback about your business along to others, who may then try the product or service you offer for themselves and in their turn become repeat customers.

“Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning”. – Bill Gates

• Customer skills: If you're a good salesperson, you can sell anything to anyone once. But it will be your approach to customer service that determines whether or not you’ll ever be able to sell that person anything else. The essence of good customer service is forming a relationship with customers – a relationship that individual customer feels that he would like to pursue.

How do you go about forming such a relationship? By remembering the one true secret of good customer service and acting accordingly; "You will be judged by what you do, not what you say."

• Answer your phone, Make sure that someone is picking up the phone when someone calls your business. (Notice I say "someone". People who call want to talk to a live person, not a fake "recorded robot".)

• Don't make promises unless you will keep them.Reliability is one of the keys to any good relationship, and good customer service is no exception. If you say, “Your new bedroom furniture will be delivered on Tuesday”, make sure it is delivered on Tuesday. Otherwise, don't say it. The same rule applies to client appointments, deadlines, etc. Think before you give any promise - because nothing annoys customers more than a broken one.

• Listen to your customers.

Is there anything more exasperating than telling someone what you want or what your problem is and then discovering that that person hasn't been paying attention and needs to have it explained again? Let your customer talk and show him that you are listening by making the appropriate responses.

The golden rule for every business man is this: “Put yourself in your customer’s place.” –

Orison Swett Marden

MORE QUESTIONS TO ASK…..

n What are our key activities? What do we have to do to make the business work?

These might include production, problem solving, keeping our skills updates, networking.

o Who are our key partners?

Who do we need to develop our business? What relationship do we want with them?

p What is our cost structure?

Are we cost or value driven when it comes to purchases? What happens to our costs if we expand or contract?

RIGHT MOTIVATION FOR STARTING A BUSINESS

More entrepreneurs say they are driven to become successful business owners because of the sense of personal achievement it provides than for financial stability, according to a new survey by online small-business community Manta (the largest online community dedicated to small business) and tech giant Dell (a worldwide provider of innovative technology and business solutions).

Business owners who are exclusively motivated by money often have unreasonable expectations of getting rich quick. When monetary goals are your only important goals, you will miss out on the many other rewards of being self-employed including sense of accomplishment, purpose, and the rewards of knowing you are doing something worthwhile with your life. If your motivation is to start a business doing something you are passionate about with the goal of turning into a full-time living, you are likely to suffer from fewer emotional setbacks and entrepreneur burnout when you find out it takes time to build independent wealth. You will be more patient with yourself and your business as it grows, and, will make better business decisions.

Having a true sense of pride and belief in your own company and products will convey in everything you do. Your passion and confidence will get other people, customers and investors excited about the business and you will have an easier time establishing your business' credibility. If your only goal is to make as much money off other people as fast as you can, eventually you will make business decisions for the wrong reasons and ultimately hurt your reputation and growth potential.

Good luck, keep the faith and, as long as you have your head above water, remember the famous words of

Winston Churchill; “Never, never, never give in.”

If your only goal is to make as much money off other people as fast as you can, eventually you will make

business decisions for the wrong reasons and ultimately hurt your reputation and growth potential.

Corruption was a hallmark of the high places in the medieval age. It was pretty widespread during the Indian Sultanate period. Even the regimes of the great Mughals, which are praised for

several nice things, were badly mired in it. Corruption can be defi ned as a deviant human behaviour, associated with the motivation of private gain at public expense that persisted for centuries. Corruption promotes illegality, unethicalism, subjectivity, inequity, injustice, waste, ineffi ciency and inconsistency in administrative conduct and behaviour. It destroys the moral fabric of society and erodes the faith of the common man in the legitimacy of the politico-administrative set up. Sher Shah (1486-1545), Emperor of North India that organized a long-lived bureaucracy responsible to the ruler and created a carefully calculated revenue system once said “'Whoever has money, whether loyal or disloyal, can get his business settled as he likes by paying for it,” about the Mughal Government during the reign of Babur. Beside wars of Succession, corruption was one of the reasons for the fall of the great empire of the Mughals, say the knowledgeable.

GIC INVESTS €200 MILLION IN SPANISH REAL ESTATE FIRM GMP

Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC will invest more than €200 million to take a roughly 30 per cent stake in Spanish real estate company Gmp, the two organizations said in

a statement. The investment by GIC will help Gmp strengthen its position as a major investor in the office and business park segment in Madrid and Barcelona. Following GIC's investment, Gmp will embark on a strategic plan which focuses on three main pillars: selective investment in office buildings, active management of the existing Gmp portfolio, including refurbishment work and improving energy efficiency, and selling non-strategic assets so that funds can be re-invested in properties with greater value creation potential. Gmp specializes in developing, investing in and managing property assets as an owner and on behalf of third parties, with particular emphasis on premium offices and business parks in Madrid.

SGX BUYS REMAINING 51% STAKE IN ELECTRICITY MARKET OPERATOR EMC

Singapore Exchange (SGX) acquired the remaining 51 per cent stake in the operator of the island's national electricity market for S$23 million, gaining a platform that can be used

for electricity and other energy-related futures contracts. SGX had in August 2012 bought 49 per cent of Energy Market Co (EMC), the

The Energy Market Authority (EMA), which sold the 51 percent stake to SGX, will continue to regulate EMC, the Singapore bourse operator said in a stock market filing on Monday. SGX, which already offers derivative products linked to the energy market, said the acquisition of EMC will allow for greater synergies. For example, wholesale electricity market participants will benefit from two percent savings in market fees over the next three years. Despite the higher costs of doing business here, 87 per cent of enterprises still expect to break even or profit over the year ahead, according to a survey done by the Singapore

Business Federation (SBF) and American Express. Although 90 per cent of companies polled cited high labour cost and lack of suitable manpower as concerns domestically, only 13 per cent of companies here said they expect losses. This means that 87 per cent expect to break even or turn a profit, according to the survey, which was released in October 2014. Almost three-quarters - 72 per cent - said they expect revenue to increase in the next 12 months. To boost their bottom lines, businesses are branching beyond Singapore, with more than half (52 per cent) planning to increase operations in emerging markets, as compared to 37 per cent in the domestic market. To finance their expansion plans, 52 percent indicated that they intend to seek new or additional forms of funding in the year ahead. Sources of funding considered include traditional financing from banks, venture capitalists and peer-to-peer lending, the survey revealed.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), whose brands include Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza. Keong Hong Holdings, one of the joint venture partners that successfully bid for the site, said the new complex will have a gross floor area of 25,000 square metres and will comprise the 131-room Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong, the 451-room Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong, food and beverage outlets and retail shops. The two hotels are scheduled to open in 2016. Under the hotel management agreement with IHG, the hospitality giant will provide the full spectrum of hotel management services, including consultancy on the design and construction of the two new hotels. Keong Hong - which is listed on the Singapore Exchange's Catalist board - and its partners won the tender for the former Joo Chiat Police station site earlier this year with a top bid of S$352.8 million. One of the conditions in the tender was that the "historically and architecturally significant" former Joo Chiat Police Station be restored as part of the future hotel development.

Ancient Indians were accomplished mariners. They were also fi rst-rate observers of natural phenomena. In recording their observations, they frequently drew

comparisons between nature and people. One lives in the other after all. In particular, as mariners, they noted the unpredictable and volatile nature of the wind and the sea. They concluded that neither could be controlled, but each could be harnessed. They also declared that the senses were very much like the wind and sea; equally erratic:

Yatato hyapi kaunteya purushasya vipashchitah; Indriyaani pramaatheeni haranti prasabham

manah.Turbulent by nature, the senses seize the mind of a

man carrying it away even as he strivesto control it.

Bhagavad-Gita 2:60

The Gita goes further. It declares that once we lose control of our senses, our mind goes wayward too:

Indriyaanaam hi charataam yanmano’nuvidheeyate;

Tadasya harati prajnaam vaayur naavam ivaambhasi.

Even as the wind carries away a oating barge the senses carry away the mind that always follows

the senses.

Bhagavad-Gita 2:67

There’s that analogy; wind and water. And, as any mariner will tell you, the way to stabilise your vessel in storm and tempest is to anchor it. Handbrakes achieve the same result in cars. Values achieve the same result in people.

So values anchor the mind. The object of that is to - having achieved equanimity of some kind - then be able to properly perform our functions. So in order to anchor Arjuna’s mind, Krishna lays down a fi rm foundation, drawing on Arjuna’s memory, understanding and emotion.

Knowing the person you’re training is very important. Of course, Krishna knew Arjuna very well and we have already seen how Krishna anchors Arjuna in previous articles.

But what if you don’t know the person? How do you anchor someone whose past or motivations are unknown to you? It is done by referring to general standards of expectation. The Bhagavad-Gita does it in this way:

Yam hi na vyathayantyete purusham purusharshabha;

Samaduhkha sukham dheeram so’mritatwaaya kalpate.

e intelligent man is not a icted (by the objects of the senses) and he remains the same in pleasure and

pain. He is t for immortality!

Bhagavad-Gita 2:15

Here Krishna refers to terms like ‘the intelligent man’ and being ‘fi t for immortality’; terms that are familiar and desirable to every person. By referring to a ‘gold standard' as it were, we are able to appeal to anyone. Who doesn’t, after all, want to be intelligent or fi t for immortality?

There’s an interesting section of the Rig-Veda (the ancient Indian collection of hymns fi rst composed from about 1500 BCE) that relates to the coronation of Kings. The hymn or prayer directed at ‘making’ a King is directed at the King-elect, the future King. The priest conducting the coronation speaks these words to King-elect:

‘I bring you here. Stay. Remain strong and steadfast. Let your people want you for them and hold fast to your kingship.’

‘Don’t slip away from this moment. Stand as a mountain does. Hold your ground, like Indra; here protect your kingdom.’Rig-Veda 10.173

These are powerful words. Well, the annals of philosophy are replete with powerful words, but I mean, these are POWERFUL WORDS. If you weren’t a king before these words were spoken at you, you’ll certainly be a king after. Think about it, why have a coronation? Besides the legal and social recording of making a King, it ‘transforms’ the King-elect. It infuses him with the power (both legal and spiritual) to begin his rule. It tells him who he is.

Everyday and in every classroom, change-room, offi ce, place of worship and home in the world there is heard a speech of exhortation to instil morale and motivate the listener. Positive, encouraging and enabling words are – in addition to what we have already seen – able to anchor a person so strongly so as to make them unshakeable and extremely purpose driven. In the above coronation hymn from the Rig-Veda, note the author uses the metaphor of a ‘mountain’ and draws a similarity between the King-elect and Indra (the Vedic King of the Devas) in the same way that Krishna uses the terms ‘intelligent man’ and ‘immortality’. These designations will hold in diffi cult times. This kind of anchoring is deep-seated and works on a cellular level.

Forgetting where one comes from is a grave stupidity. The ancients knew this and tried very hard to feed the spirit by reminding it of its origin (divine) and doing this as often as possible. At every step in the Gita, Krishna does this again and again, reinforcing the special nature that Arjuna possesses. He does not let up, he does not avoid any opportunity to buttress the knowledge he is imparting.

SAMSKARS

Ancient Indians developed a lifestyle around this ability to constantly anchor their people. They did so by propagating rituals that were spread across once lifetime, from birth to death. Each ritual served as a reminder of where one came from and where one was going; each was an anchor point at the most important points of one’s life as one lives it.

In this way, ancient Indians came up with the concept of ‘Samskars’ (refi nements) that mark the gradual progress of one’s life. There are 16 Samskars:

Garbhadana (Conception), Punswan (Fertilisation), Seemantonnayan (Prosperity), Jatkarma (Birth), Namkaran (Naming), Niskraman (First Outing), Annaprashana (Giving of the First Cereal Food), Chudakarma (Cutting of the Hair), Karnabheda (Piercing of Earlobes), Upanayan (Investiture), Vedarambha (Initiation into Study), Samavartan (Convocation), Vivah (Marriage), Awasthyadhana (Sacred Fire), Tretagnisangrah (Preservation of Fire) and Antyeshti (Funeral).

These 16 refi nements, whether or not performed, act as signposts and pivotal moments in the life of every ancient Indian. The practices are still current to this day with many Hindu Indians. When a parent speaks of the relevant Samskar to his or her child, feelings of fi lial loyalty and pride are inculcated.

In the Bhagavad-Gita, Krishna makes reference to the Samskars when he is chastising Arjuna:

Akeertim chaapi bhootaani kathayishyanti te’vyayaam; Sambhaavitasya

chaakeertir maranaad atirichyatePeople will recall your everlasting shame (for abandoning

your duty). Dishonour is worse than death.

Bhagavad-Gita 2:34

Dishonour is worse than death! Here Krishna makes reference to how Arjuna will be remembered. That in abandoning his duties, he courts a kind of infamy that is dishonourable, a fate worse than that which the fi nal refi nement is meant to impart. Dishonour is not a Samskar. It does not fi gure in the refi nements a person is intended to undergo.

SHAME

One of the strongest strategies Krishna employs in the Bhagavad-Gita to anchor Arjuna involves the clever use of the notion of shame:

Avaachyavaadaamshcha bahoon vadishyanti tavaahitaah; Nindantastava saamarthyam tato duhkhataram nu kim.

Your enemies will speaks words of infamy, scorning your courage. What shame is worse than that?

Bhagavad-Gita 2:36

The risk of shame is the risk of a deep and personal injury. It is far more disturbing that any physical ailment because it works its destruction invisibly.

Shame can be fl eeting or everlasting. In this verse, Krishna is referring to a humiliation that is lasting; eternal. Of course, this technique is effective, but should be used sparingly. In Arjuna’s case, he had the mental strength to suffer this criticism from Krishna. You would not threaten an employee with shame. But supposing you were able to loyalise a colleague or employee to a company or brand (or cause), then the thought of losing, of failing, will immediately raise the risk of humiliation in them, ensuring they perform optimally or lose everything trying. I’ve left this technique to the end of the anchoring lecture because it must be used with caution. Humiliation is not always an effective motivator. In fact, it nearly never is.

This is the fi nal instalment of the fi rst part of the ancient Indian art of training, namely anchoring. In the next edition of Malaysian Indian Business magazine, we will venture into the art of cultivation, where we learn how of this ancient art is practised.

Did you have any mentor(s) and how you able to assist our community?

Frankly speaking as at now I’m not able to find suitable mentor. Rather, we required highly qualified auditors and recognized accredited body to issue certificates. My strong self confident drives and navigate through most obstacles.

Currently I’m providing free guidance to SMEs that looking to have themselves certified with quality management system. As way of encouraging more Indian SMEs has the minimum requirements we offer very special pricing for Malaysian Indian Business Magazine readers. Business members of our community must understand gone are the days we manage our business the conventional way as our ancestors did. In terms of quality management system our businesses are competing with PET shops or even temples that already been certified.

How receptive and the awareness of Malaysian Indian business people towards services offered by you?

As I said earlier, lots of Indian SME ignores the importance of having quality management system as they rather prefer not to learn the importance of such certifications. Some of them have very negative perception of high cost, lengthy process, need additional staff or failure of meeting the requirements. Those in food industries need to have ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP should they intend to explore overseas market such as China, Australia and Europe. Now you already created a google account to access YouTube platform that enables us to watch, like, and subscribe video. We can also upload videos

upon signing in. However, a Google account don't come with a YouTube channel by default; without a channel, you have no public presence on YouTube. We had discussed channel creation methods in our previous issue, but it can only be done through a computer as currently this can't be done in the Android or iOS YouTube apps.

CREATE COMPELLING CHANNEL TRAILER VIDEO

Bear in mind, we need to attract very niche and targeted viewers to our channel. Your inaugural video plays a very vital role in attracting the potential subscribers to the channel. Viewers who are yet to subscribe to your YouTube channel and visit your channel page, can now be greeted by a video telling them why they should hit the subscribe button. This is an opportunity to show these potential subscribers what you do, and why they should sign up.

YouTube started rolling out in March 2013 this new feature as part of the new “One Channel’ design. The core benefi t of this new design is that your channel will have a uniform look across devices. Other useful features include the ability to create playlists and the ability to link to associated channels straight from your channel homepage. The most exciting feature, as far as creativity goes, is defi nitely the trailer feature. Here’s one nice example of a channel featuring it:

STEPS TO CREATE A GREAT YOUTUBE CHANNEL TRAILER

A trailer video is an advertisement for your channel and fi rst contact point to your potential subscribers. Creating a compelling channel trailer is the most engaging way of introducing your channel, and encouraging your viewers to subscribe, so they’ll make you part of their YouTube habit.

Always keep in mind a poorly produced trailer will force your viewers to click and run away from your page immediately. If you are going to use a trailer it is therefore essential that you make the most of it. Here are some 5 tips for producing a compelling trailer.

PewDiePie is the number ONE channel on Youtube with 31,300,102 subscribers. Forbes estimated the 24 years old college drop out Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, creator of PewDiePie makes US$4.0million per annum out of his Youtube Channel created 5 years ago.

1 Length

Keep it short, possible with a minute maximum. This is enough time to get across a lot of information, but not so long that viewers will switch off. The old rule still applies; your fi rst 10 seconds are the most important and you need to hook the audience in at that point.

2 Give a sense of who you are

Obviously there is no one way to do this as we are all unique. However, you need to be sure that your trailer portrays a good and accurate sense of who you are, what you do and what you have to offer new subscribers. Screen test your trailer with a focus group audience and get feedback. This is worth getting right.

3 Emotion

To quote Bill Woolery: ‘a feature documentary has emotional moments, but a trailer is basically one emotional moment from beginning to end.” Your trailer needs to engage your audience on an emotional level – this emotion needs to be congruent with what your channel is about and the response you want from your audience.

4 Answer important questions

Your audience wants an idea of what kind of videos you create in terms of theme and style. The trailer is also an opportunity to introduce the audience to important characters from your channel videos. It may also be a chance to introduce the audience to your characters' motivations Finally, you need to tell your audience why they should be watching your videos and why they should be watching them now.

5 Speed

Professional movie trailers are fast paced and pick up momentum about half way through. They are exciting which is what makes them so engaging.

MyCC IMPOSES FINANCIAL PENALTY ON CONFECTION, BAKERY PRODUCTS PRODUCERS FOR PRICE FIXING

The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) today issued a proposed decision in relation to a price fi xing agreement between 24 enterprises which are members of the Sibu

Confectionery and Bakery Association (SCBA). The 24 enterprises were found infringing Section 4(2) of the Competition Act after they were discovered agreeing to increase the prices of confectionery and bakery products by between 10 and 15 per cent in Sibu. To remedy this infringement, MyCC proposed to impose a total fi nancial penalty of RM439,000 on the enterprises and directed the enterprises to take steps to ensure that they stop the infringement and comply with the Act. "Price fi xing is a major concern of the MyCC as the restriction of competition is obvious in any price fi xing cases. Such an agreement, conducted by these enterprises of different sizes, provides the parties the opportunity to impose higher prices to maximize profi tability without any competition," MyCC Chief Executive Offi cer Shila Dorai Raj said in a statement.

The blueprints were presented at the 4th meeting of Malaysia's Global Science and Innovation Advisory Council (GSIAC), convened at the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS) in New York on 24th September 2014. Chaired by Prime Minister Najib Razak, GSIAC is a body of distinguished national and international leaders in economics, business, science and technology guiding Malaysia's sustainable development towards a goal of RM64,000 per capita annual income by 2020. GSIAC is run jointly by the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology and NYAS.

RENAULT TO ENTER USED CAR BIZ IN INDIA; 2 NEW MODELS IN 2015

French auto major Renault is targeting a market share of over 5 per cent in India, is also leveraging on its 4,500 strong R&D Centre in Chennai to come up with products which are "right

for the country". "India is the biggest challenge for Renault in the next two years, we have high ambitions for the Indian market. It is very important for us," Renault Chairman of AMI (Africa, Middle East and India) Region Bernard Cambier says on the sidelines of Paris Motor Show. Spelling out the company's new business plans, he said: "We have plans to develop some new services. I have ambition with Sumit Sawhney (Renault India Country CEO and MD) to develop the used car business and lot of things like that." Sawhney said the entry into used car business would help the company in the overall brand building. Stressing that Renault doesn't want to be a marginal player in India, he said: "One point is that wherever we want to go we want to have a strong entry in that segment. We don’t want to be a marginal player in that segment, so that is a clear vision. So we are building a strong runway for Renault in coming years." He added that the two segments would be able to push the company's market share in India to over 5 per cent in the next three years.

SMALL STORES GO OUT OF BUSINESS AS CONSUMERS FLOCK ONLINE

Online shipments were 7.6 percent of all mobile phone sales in December 2013, according to International Data Corporation; by June, these had climbed to 10.4 per cent. These numbers

are sure to rise further because popular brands like Motorola and Xiaomi are selling their new models online. The All-India Mobile Retailers' Association is lobbying the government, at the centre as well as in the states, to contain "predatory online prices", and has convinced Samsung to launch some key models only offl ine. "Today, it is unethical prices. Tomorrow it could be unavailability of products, leading to a monopoly of these e-commerce giants," says Dhiraj Malik, the secretary general of the association, with visible anxiety. Other sectors too are seeing buyers moving online in droves: books, footwear, watches, spectacles, apparel and travel. Even car dealers may have cause to worry because Snapdeal, the homespun e-retailer, now even sells a car, the Mahindra Scorpio. Online greengrocers have become active in some areas of Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. Even those who sell cinema tickets in black will feel the heat. Tickets for Agadu, the latest release of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, were recently spotted online - at a premium, of course. With buyers from big cities and small towns alike preferring to shop online, the country is at the cusp of an e-retail revolution. A July report by Technopak Advisors, a retail consultancy, says e-retail will rise from $2.3 billion (for fi nancial year 2014) to $32 billion by 2020. This can also be seen as a potential loss of business for offl ine retailers. The shopkeepers - there are over six million big and small stores in the country - watch helplessly as business erodes slowly but steadily.

US TO HELP INDIA DEVELOP THREE SMART CITIES

The U.S. will help India in developing three smart cities in Allahabad, Ajmer and Visakhapatnam apart from joining coordinated efforts with civil society and local authorities to provide clean water and sewage facilities in 500 cities in the country. This announcement was made after the talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Barack Obama recently. The Indian government plans to develop

100 smart cities and in this regard an allocation of Rs 7,060 crore (Rs 70.60 billion) was proposed in the Union Budget. While presenting the Budget for 2014-15, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had said the Prime Minister has a vision of developing 100 smart cities as satellite towns of larger cities and by modernizing the existing mid-sized cities. "With development reaching an increasingly large number of people, the pace of migration from the rural areas to the cities is increasing," Jaitley had said.

FIXED DEPOSITS MAY NOT GIVE YOU HIGHER RETURNS IN FUTURE

Banks are likely to pare term deposit rates in the near-term, as muted credit demand with its cascading effect on loan yields is threatening to erode their net interest margin (NIM). The yield on advances for

lenders has been declining steadily, as corporate houses are reluctant to borrow money from banks. This, combined with high deposit rates, have increased the stress on banks' net interest margin, bankers said. "Yield on advances has been decreasing. Hence, interest rates on some of the deposits will probably have to be reduced. I expect deposit rate cut to start in the next few weeks," says Ranjan Dhawan, executive director of Bank of Baroda. The state-run lender's global yield on advances had narrowed to 8.31 per cent at the end of June, from 8.46 per cent a year earlier. A few banks have already slashed deposit rates in certain buckets and many others are expected to mirror the move. State Bank of India has announced a 25-basis point (bp) interest rate cut on deposits maturing in one to three years from September 18. RBI indicated loan demand has not improved, despite the beginning of the festive season. ‘Considering the fact that credit has not picked up much, the system is having suffi cient liquidity, companies are having various avenues for raising funds, and investment climate is yet to turn around, going forward, banks may reduce the deposit rate as has been done by some large banks," T M Bhasin, chairman of Indian Banks' Association, said.

Neuromorphic computing

If you ask me to name one advanced technology which brings us nearer to the dream of Artifi cial Intelligence[AI] to reality in the near future it is Neuromorphic Computing

technology. From the name itself we can defi ne it helps us to create robots and chips which could function like our human Neural system. Researchers have been trying to create computer that work, think and pass information like Brain!!!. Untill now as I am writing this article it is not made fully possible to create a robot that would think and work as human, thats the ultimate aim of the scientists of today to achive excellence in Artifi cial Intelligence.

With the help of this Neuromorphic technology now scientists happy that they are nearing their dream of fully functional AI robot.

What the Future Holding for You

The skilled professionals and researchers call themselves as neuromorphic engineers, who were highly expertise in these area of neural networking in robotics with relationship and integration with Neuromorphic computing.

Their goal, according to Karlheinz Meier, a physicist at the University of Heidelberg is to design a computer that has some - and preferably all - of three characteristics that brains have and computers do not. These are: low power consumption (human brains use about 20 watts, whereas the supercomputers currently used to try to simulate them need megawatts); fault tolerance (losing just one transistor can wreck a microprocessor, but brains lose neurons all the

time); and a lack of need to be programmed (brains learn and change spontaneously as they interact with the world, instead of following the fixed paths and branches of a predetermined algorithm).

To achieve these goals, however, neuromorphic engineers will have to make the computer-brain analogy real. And since no one knows how brains actually work, they may have to solve that problem for themselves, as well. This means filling in the gaps in neuroscientists’ understanding of the organ. In particular, it means building artificial brain cells and connecting them up in various ways, to try to mimic what happens naturally in the brain.

“Two of the most advanced neuromorphic programmes are being conducted under the auspices of the Human Brain Project (HBP), an ambitious attempt by a confederation of European scientific institutions to build a simulacrum of the brain by 2023.”

Is it Possible?

An important property of a real brain is that it is what is referred to as a small-world network. Each neuron within it has tens of thousands of synaptic connections with other neurons. This means that, even though a human brain contains about 86 billion neurons, each is within two or three connections of all the others via myriad potential routes.

In both natural brains and many attempts to make artificial ones memory-formation involves strengthening some of these synaptic connections and pruning others. And it is this that allows the network to process information without having to rely on a conventional computer program. One problem with building an artificial small-world network of this sort, though, is connecting all the neurons in a system that has a lot of them.

The Human Brain Project

There remains, of course, the question of where neuromorphic computing might lead. At the moment, it is primitive. But if it succeeds, it may allow the construction of machines as intelligent as—or even more intelligent than—human beings. Science fiction may thus become science fact.

Moreover, matters may proceed faster than an outside observer, used to the idea that the brain is a black box impenetrable to science, might expect. Money is starting to be thrown at the question. The Human Brain Project has a €1 billion ($1.3 billion) budget over a decade. The BRAIN initiative’s first-year budget is $100m, and neuromorphic computing should do well out of both. And if scale is all that matters, because it really is just a question of linking up enough silicon equivalents of cortical columns and seeing how they prune and strengthen their own internal connections, then an answer could come soon.

vWe would expect these researching companies and scientists would give us an artificial brian might be in 2025.Even gaint IT companies are in this competetion to pioneer this technology of neuromorphic computing. Lets wait for an awesome result to surprise human race.

Neem cultivated in the Indian subcontinent is an omnipotent tree and a sacred gift of nature known botanically as Azadirachta indica A.Juss. The

Latinized name of neem, Azadirachta indica, is derived from the Persian, Azad means “free”; dirakhtmeans “tree”; i-Hind means “of Indian origin”. Hence it literally means “the free tree of India”. The Sanskrit name of the neem tree is ‘Arishtha’ meaning ‘reliever of sickness’and hence is considered as ‘Sarbaroganibarini’. The neem tree is an incredible plant that has been declared the “Tree of the 21st century” by the United

Nations while in 1992 US National Academy of Science proclaimed it “Neem: A tree for solving global problems.”

Neem is perhaps the most useful traditional medicinal plant in India has been used extensively by humankind to treat various ailments before the availability of written records which recorded the beginning of history. During the last fi ve decades, neem is considered as a valuable source of unique natural products for development of medicines against various diseases and also for the development of industrial products.

In 1942, Salimuzzaman Siddiqui extracted three bitter compounds from neem oil, which he named as nimbin, nimbinin, and nimbidin. He is the fi rst person introduce Neem Tree to natural products chemist.nimbinin, and nimbidin. He is the fi rst person introduce Neem

THE VILLAGE PHARMACY

Neem has been used by humankind from time immemorial as a deterrent for smallpox and other infectious diseases and is also considered to possess powers to ward off evil spirits. All parts of the neem tree are commonly used in traditional Indian medicine for household remedy against various human diseases. For centuries, millions have cleaned their teeth with neem twigs, smeared skin disorders with neem leaf juice, taken neem tea as a tonic, and placed neem leaves in their beds, books, grain bins, cupboards, and closets to keep away troublesome bugs. The tree has relieved so many different pains, fevers, infections, and other complaints so that it has been called “the village pharmacy.” In rural India, peoples often used water decoction of neem leaves for the prevention and treatment of various ailments.

REGULATE BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVEL

Aqueous extract of neem leaves signifi cantly decreases blood sugar level and prevents adrenaline as well as glucose-induced hyperglycaemia concluded a scientifi c research. Regularly consuming in early morning overnightly soaked tender neem leaves tea help to regulate. Drink it in empty stomach for better results .

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE

Neisseria gonorrhoeae [NG] remains one of the major sexually transmitted diseases worldwide and it remain a challenge for public health particularly in the United States. Untreated, NG enters the rest of body through bloodstream and go into throat, eyes, bones, joints and other tissues which often misdiagnosed as arthritis. Neem creams believed to be effective against the NG bacteria as well as improving the immune system within female private part.

URINARY TRACT INFECTION

In most cases urinary tract infections causes painful urination due to spreading of bacteria from the rectum to the bladder via urethra. Drinking neem leaf tea made from fi ve leaves twice a day for a week relieve the infections. Continous drinking neem leaf tea assist to clean up remaining infections even though symptoms not clearly prevail.

CHOLESTEROL

Neem leaves reduced serum cholesterol by about 30% beginning two hours after administration and kept to the level for an additional four hours. Since neem is a safe herb when used in low doses, drinking neem tea for a month to stabilize cholesterol levels recommended. Neem tea may be an alternative for those need only small reduction or after eating expectionally fatty meal.

BLOOD PURIFIER

Neem has been a major blood purifi er in the siddha medicine as it could remove toxins from the blood and promote a healthy circulation. Small amounts of neem leaf extracts have been found to protect the liver from damage. Neem also able to oxidize the blood to promote healing.

GASTRITIS

Drinking Neem Tea or indest neem leaves reduce discomfort of Gastritis , a imfl ammation of mucous membrane lining the stomach. Gastritis usually caused by aspirin, alcohol and Campylobacter bacteria. The anti infl ammatory and anti-bacterial properties of neem reduce the concentration of acid in the stomach to provide relief effects of gastritis.

IMMUNITY BOOSTER

The aqueous extract of neem bark possesses anticomplement activity, acting both on the alternative as well as the classical pathway of complement activation in human serum. Recently, an aqueous extract of stem bark has been shown to enhance the immune response. Neem oil has been shown to possess immunostimulant activity by selectively activating the cell-mediated immune mechanisms to elicit an enhanced response to subsequent mitogenic or antigenic challenge.

Neem also boosts the body's macrophage response, which stimulates the lymphocytic system, and boosts production of white blood cells. Neem oil acts as a non-specifi c immunostimulant and that it selectively activates the cell-mediated immune.

Neem, the versatile medicinal plant is the unique source of various types of compounds having diverse chemical structure identifi ed by Siddhars and agreed upon by the modern science. In fact, time has come to make good use of centuries-old knowledge on neem through modern approaches of drug development. For the last few years, there has been an increasing trend and awareness in neem research.
