Question: The Renaissance means “rebirth”. In what ways was European culture
“reborn” following the Middle Ages?
Background: In the early 1300’s a movement known as the Renaissance began in
Italy and spread throughout Europe. It was a time of discovery, invention, and
renewal. The Renaissance changed the way Europeans saw themselves and their
world.
