All Items1) All items MUST be clean of any waste matter (all liquids and solids included).

Items that contain waste matter will be left in the bin. This is based on requirements from our buyers and health related caution.

2) All items should be crushed or flattened to their maximum potential. This saves room in your bin for more items and allows us to serve more Northport residents

Cardboard1) Cardboard should be flattened to its maximum

potential. Corrogated cardboard (moving boxes, shipping boxes) can be stacked under the bin. Pressed cardboard (cereal boxes, brown tubes from toilet paper, etc) should be placed inside the bin.

Paper1) While it is not required to separate recyclables, it is

greatly appreciated specifically with paper. We separate brown paper (newspaper, magazines, catalogs) and mixed paper (everything else).

Plastic1) All plastic MUST be cleaned of all waste matter (all liquids and solids included). Any

plastic item with waste matter in or on it will be left in the bin.

2) We can accept only #’s 1 and 2 plastics. Any plastic item not numbering 1 or 2 will be ledt in the bin. You can usually find the plastic’s number on the bottom of the item. You should see a sign that looks like one of the following:

3) We DO accept plastic lids and bottle caps. Lids and caps should be kept on the plastic containers and used to help keep the plastic containers crushed.

4) We DO accept plastic grocery bags as well.

Metal1) All metal MUST be cleaned of all waste matter (all liquids and solids included).

Any metal item with waste matter in or on it will be left in the bin.

2) We accept all metals. If you have large, scrap metal please notify us before the route so we can plan to make room for it.

3) We also do large-scale metal recycling. For example, tearing down metal sheds, removing old cars or appliances, or removing copper from buildings. If you have an opportunity for anything like this, please let us know and we can work something out.

Other Guidelines1) Bins must be by the curb no later than 6:30am on pickup days. Pickup days will normally be on the 1st and 3rd Friday’s of every month. If we change a pickup day we will alert yo in plenty of time.

2) Due to our route calculations, we ask that you not use additional bins for recyclable items. IF YOU NEED MORE SPACE FOR ITEMS, we will provide an additional bin for an additional charge of $25 per contract term.
