1 Introduction

These Release Notes describe updates and last minute changes in Open Text

Extended ECM for SAP® Solutions Version 9.8.0 respectively SAP 9.8

Extensions for SAP Extended ECM by Open Text 9.7.1. .

If you receive your software via SAP Marketplace then you need to download

SAP Extended ECM by Open Text 9.7.1 and SAP 9.8 Extensions for SAP

Extended ECM by Open Text 9.7.1. (Please see chapter 3 Packaging and

Documentation for delivery details.)

Open Text recommends that you read these Release Notes in conjunction with

the documentation included with the software package. If any conflicts exist, the

Release Notes supersede the other documentation.

We also recommend that you check the Open Text Knowledge Center

(https://knowledge.opentext.com/) for any patches or documentation updates that

may have been posted after the initial release of Open Text Extended ECM for

2 About Open Text Extended ECM for SAP® Solutions

Many business processes, in both commercial and government organizations,

span the worlds of transactional data and business content. Open Text Extended

ECM for SAP Solutions extends the transactional process management

capabilities of SAP ERP with comprehensive Enterprise Content Management

(ECM) capabilities, including document management, records management and

collaboration.

With Open Text Extended ECM, you can unite the worlds of ERP and ECM in a

single solution, reducing the risks and costs of records mismanagement,

increasing information worker productivity and enhancing your ability to comply

with regulations

2.1 New Features

Extended ECM for SAP Solutions includes the following new components:

ECMLink 9.8 is the successor of RMLink and DocuLink for Enterprise Server.

ECMLink allows putting SAP documents under the control of the Enterprise

Library applying Records Management policies and retention schedules.

ECMLink enables the manual and automatic creation of workspaces from

SAP business objects and of business references.

Upgrade from RMLink to ECMLink is supported

2.2 Deprecated Features

DocuLink for Enterprise Server is no longer part of Extended ECM for SAP

Solutions but ECMLink can be added to an existing DocuLink for Enterprise

Server installation.

For Customers using the SAP Extensions for SAP Extended ECM by Open Text

we recommend to use no longer the DocuLink for Enterprise Server functionality.

3.4 Installing new versions of Enterprise Server modules


With Extended ECM for SAP Solutions new versions of the Enterprise Server modules are available:

• Records Management 4.2.1

• Security Clearance 4.2.1

• Physical Objects 4.2.1

• Directory Services 3.1.0

• WebDAV 3.6.1

You have two options to install the new versions:

• During Enterprise Library master setup, deselect the older version of the modules and install the new module versions located on the Extended ECM for SAP Solutions ISO image in the ELS directory. For more information on how to install Enterprise Server modules, see section 9 "Installing and Uninstalling Modules" in Livelink ECM™ - Enterprise Server - Installation Guide (LLESCOR090701-IGD).

• Install all modules with the Enterprise Library master setup, complete the Enterprise Server module installation and upgrade the modules after that. For more information how to upgrade modules, see section 11.3.5 "Upgrading Modules" in Livelink ECM™ - Enterprise Server - Installation Guide (LLESCOR090701-IGD).


Note

SAP 9.8 Extensions for SAP Extended ECM by Open Text is just an extension to SAP Extended ECM by Open Text 9.7.1. Therefore, you first need to install SAP Extended ECM by Open Text 9.7.1.

With SAP Extensions for SAP Extended ECM by Open Text there are no new versions of the Enterprise Server modules available.

4 Supported Environments and Compatibility

List operating systems, hardware requirements, database systems, components,

web browsers, server and client platforms. Give version information (all version

details).

4.1 SAP Applications Support

For most scenarios Open Text Extended ECM for SAP® Solutions supports SAP

applications based on SAP basis 4.6C/D, 6.20, 6.40 and NetWeaver 7.00. This

includes SAP R/3 4.6C/D, SAP R/3 Enterprise 47X110/47X200, SAP ERP 2004

and SAP ERP 6.0.

Note

Open Text ECMLink for SAP Solutions 9.8.0 does not support SAP basis 4.6C/D.

4.2 Server Operating Systems and Database Systems Support

For information and restrictions concerning operating systems and database

systems please have a look at the release notes of Open Text Enterprise Library

Services 10.1.0

Please take into consideration your intended deployment scenario. Often not all

components are installed on the same machine and thus different server

operating systems and database systems might be used for the installation of the

complete solution.

Note

Open Text ECMLink for SAP Solutions 9.8.0 supports Livelink ECM – Enterprise Server on Windows platforms only.

SAP Basis 6.20, 6.40: For SAP Basis 6.20 and 6.40 the ECMLink RFC Services are needed for communication with SAP Basis. ECMLink RFC Services support Windows platforms only. If Archive and Storage Services are installed on an Unix platform, then the ECMLink RFC

Services have to be installed on a Library Server (RCS) on a Windows platform (“coexistence scenario” with remote Archive and Storage Services).

In general Open Text Extended ECM for SAP® Solutions will be available for the

end users in different languages. Not all languages are available at the initial time

of release. English versions are available immediately after release and the other

language versions follow. Administrative user interface are available in many

cases in English only.

Content Server Pulse

Content Server Pulse cannot be used for workspaces. No documents will be

shown in the hit list.

Recycle Bin and Records Management/Physical Objects

Recycle Bin and Records Management/Physical Objects does not work together.

Please de-install Recycle Bin module form the Enterprise Server if you use

Records Management functionality.

Imaging Viewers

Enhanced functionality of Imaging Viewers (Windows Viewer, Java Viewer, Web

Viewer) like notes and annotations are supported only in scenarios that call

directly the viewers, e.g. inside SAP UI Generic Object Services. If the viewers

are called indirectly via mime-type then the enhanced functionality is not

available, e.g. calling viewers from within Enterprise Server UIs or for documents

inside workspaces.

Imaging Enterprise Scan

Enterprise Scan does not support scanning into business cases and business

workspaces.
