NSS

We added a Copy Diet Orders feature. You can now assign a patient a new diet order by copying and modifying the patient's current order or a previous order.

You can now choose the font (typeface) and the font size to use for printing items (foods and beverages) on tray tickets. This enhancement fulfills a high-priority request of the CBORD User Advisory Council (UAC).

You can now design custom labels so that each label can include multiple label item placeholders, so one label can list multiple food or supplement items. This enhancement fulfills a high-priority request of the CBORD User Advisory Council (UAC).

The card file header now lists the patient's allergies (if any), not just the fact that the patient has an allergy. This enhancement fulfills a high-priority request of the CBORD User Advisory Council (UAC).

You can now produce a Tally Report, a Service Menu Production Tally, or a Service Menu Actual Tally that does not list any foods with 0 (zero) as the Quantity.

We improved the Service Audit Log to make it a better tool for trouble-shooting and for figuring out how meal fixing works. We enhanced the Missed Meals Report so that you can choose whether it includes patients with Refused Tray status (those who have declined their trays for the meal).

We continue to test and improve a version of Bedside Menu Entry for use with Windows Mobile handheld units (BME-WM).

Beta testing is going well, and we expect that this product will be ready for general release in the near future. We will certainly let you know when it's available!

For more information on the enhancements listed here, see the Nutrition Services section, below.

FSS

We improved the Nutrition Item Maintenance option so that you can display or enter nutrition data for any size portion, not just a 100-gram sample. (When you Save the changes or close the window, the system converts the data to be based on a 100-gram sample.)

For more information, see the Items section, below.

We added information in the Inventory Item Properties window (which opens from an inventory tally) so it tells you the item's Primary storage location. This is helpful if the item has multiple storage locations.

For more information, see the Inventory section, below.

We made it easier to install and set up NetHIMS.

For details, see the NetHIMS section, below.

We improved the ETM Export Log and ETM Import Log so that they report more types of problems.

For details, see the Utilities section, below.

Both FSS and NSS

We added a CBORD Announcements feature.

An area in the main FSS window now display news of importance to CBORD clients, such as new modules that are available, a link to the CBORD Web site for news of the User Group Conference, and so on.

A setting enables you to hide these announcements for users who are not designated as system administrators.

For details, see the General section, below.Page 2

The CBORD Group, Inc. | Release Notes for Version 7.2.100

For details, see the General section, below.

We expanded the feature that enables you to save and reuse Queries. Now a user designated as a system administrator can create "global" saved queries, which are available to all users. Other users (who are not system administrators) can see and use only the queries they themselves have created and saved, plus the global ones.

For details, see the General section, below. We added the ability to run the Data Diagnostic Utility (DDU) from a command line, which means that it can be run through an AutoMate script.

We also added several new DDU tools. These new utilities eliminate duplicate Item Notes, duplicate base units of measure, and duplicate unit of measure names for a general item.

For details, see the Utilities section, below.

This version requires:

o Operating System on client machines: Windows 2000 Professional OR Windows XP OR Windows Vista .For Windows Vista, use Business edition, Enterprise edition, or Ultimate edition (The following editions are not supported: Home Premium edition, Home Basic edition.)

o Database Server:Sybase SQL Anywhere 9.0.2.3804 (formerly called Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere, referred to as ASA) (Note : Upgrade to Sybase 9.0.2.3804 before you upgrade your CBORD database to version 7.1.100.)ORMicrosoft SQL Server 2005 with Service Pack 2 (SP2)ORMicrosoft SQL Server 2008 (Note: If you intend to use Microsoft SQL Server 2008, upgrade your CBORD system and CBORD database to version 7.x before you upgrade the database server from Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to Microsoft SQL Server 2008.)If you are upgrading from Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008, we recommend running Compatibility Mode 90 for the best performance.

o Operating System on server: Windows 2000 Server OR Windows Server 2003 OR

Windows Server 2008. Note:-- For Microsoft SQL Server implementations, Windows Server 2008 is supported.-- For Sybase SQL Anywhere implementations, continue to use Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003. At this time, Windows Server 2008 is not supported for Sybase SQL Anywhere implementations.

Important : To run the Database Upgrade process on Windows Server 2008 , you must use the ‘Run as administrator’ option, even if you are already logged on as an administrator. To do this, right-click on AutoRun.exe and choose ‘Run as administrator.’

If your server has a Novell operating system, do not upgrade to version 5, 6, or 7 of your

CBORD system! Please consult with a CBORD representative.

 If you use Windows Vista:

You will probably want to turn off its "beep" function, so that you do not hear a noise whenever you select an icon in FSS.To do that:-- Open Control Panel and select Device Manager.-- Click on the View menu and put a check mark in the "Show hidden devices" checkbox.-- Under the category "Non-plug and play drivers," right-click on Beep and choose Properties.-- In the Beep Properties window, in the Current Status section, click Stop.-- In the Beep Properties window, in the Startup Status section, set Type to Disabled. Recommendation to AutoMate Users: Script AutoMate to minimize all windows before starting FSS. Otherwise FSS can open "behind" a full-screen window that is already open, and AutoMate's "view" of the FSS window will be blocked.

If you have been using version 8 of Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere (ASA) that you obtained from CBORD, your installation or upgrade package for this version includes an installation/upgrade CD for SQL Anywhere 9.0.2.3804.

If you obtained your Sybase SQL Anywhere or Adaptive Server Anywhere product elsewhere, you must acquire and apply the upgrade to SQL Anywhere 9.0.2.3804 before upgrading your CBORD system. o Make sure your transaction log is turned on while you use FSS or NSS. Otherwise, many

system processes will run more slowly.

o You must rebuild the CBORD database after upgrading ASA 8 to ASA 9.

Notes for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 users:

o Be sure you have Service Pack 2 (SP2).

o Be aware that when Microsoft SQL Server is the database server, software upgrades can result in very large log files unless properly managed!

o Check the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and make sure that: • “Allow Triggers to Fire Others” is set to True .

To check this setting, open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, right-click on the server name, and select Properties; from the “Select a page” list, highlight Advanced to open a page of settings and look in the Miscellaneous section at the “Allow Triggers to Fire Others” row.

• “Recursive Triggers Enabled” is set to False .To check this setting, open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and, under the server name in the tree list, under Databases, right-click on the name of your CBORD database and select Properties; from the “Select a page” list, highlight Options to open a page of settings; scroll down to the Miscellaneous section and look at the “Recursive Triggers Enabled” row.

• You have allocated enough memory on the database server. SQL Server 2005 requires more memory than SQL Server 2000.Without sufficient memory, CBORD system performance will suffer.

o During an upgrade, MS SQL Server can allow a software patch to overwrite an existing patch. Be careful.

o Do you temporarily maintain two different database versions at the same time – typically to test an upgrade version while using an older version as your live system?

Page 4

Page 5: Release Notes for Version 7.2 - Client Login · The CBORD Group, Inc. | Release Notes for Version 7.2.100 ... Sybase SQL Anywhere 9.0.2.3804 (formerly called Sybase Adaptive Server

If so, this notice is important to you:A 6.9.100 (or later) database cannot share a SQL Server instance with a 6.8.100 (or earlier) database. Therefore, if you maintain your 6.8.100 (or earlier) database attached to a SQL Server instance, and you want to attach a 6.9.100 (or later) database, you must first install a new instance of SQL Server.

ALL USERS : Upgrading requires pre-approval by your CBORD representative. If you are considering an upgrade, please include your CBORD representative in the discussion.

¦ Suggestion: If you do End of Day Processing regularly, running it the night before an upgrade will make the upgrade go more quickly and smoothly.

¦ Room Service and Bedside Menu Entry are separately licensed modules of the Nutrition Service Suite. To use these modules, arrange with CBORD for licensing and training.

Special Note: The NSS RSPQ (Room Service Print Queue, or "set delivery time") option requires installation of a separate application. If you are interested in this option, contact CBORD for additional information.

¦ Enterprise Transaction Manager (ETM), Unit Orders, and NetHIMS are separately licensed modules of the Foodservice Suite. To use these modules, arrange with CBORD for licensing and training.

¦ The Menu Wizard option in the Service module was recently expanded to include copying menus and merging menus. Please note that the first time you use the Menu Wizard to copy or merge multiple large menus, the process may be quite slow, especially if you choose to Apply History or ask for complicated portion count calculations.

After the initial run, however, the performance improves dramatically so that the process is much faster.

¦ If you want to take advantage of the newest costing and recosting features, consult with your CBORD representative. Some uses may require training.

¦ This version supports the use of diabetic exchanges and other dietary exchanges. Please note that adding exchange values increases the size of your database, which affects processing speed when you perform a nutritional analysis through the Compute Item Values option.

¦ If you use the Report Queue feature, consult with your CBORD Client Services representative before upgrading to this version. You may have to create new queues in the new version.

¦ If you use the Data Movement Utility (DMU) or Replication, consult with your CBORD Client Services representative before upgrading to this version. This is especially important if you use NSS.

¦ The Advanced Query feature should not be used without training, as it is possible to create advanced queries that will run for a very long time (hours or days!) before returning a result. The only way to interrupt a query before it completes is to use the Microsoft Windows® Task Manager to shut the application down.

¦ Do not run a Standard Item Book -- Detailed Listings report (Standard Item Book) for more than 10 items at a time. Running this report for more items can cause a system error.

¦ The Detailed Recipe Nutrient Analysis Report may truncate the item Key Names -- that is, it may not list all of the characters of a Key Name.

¦

For users of NSS: o When you upgrade to a version of the system that includes a new NSS report or option,

give each appropriate user and/or user group access to the new NSS report or option through the Security Administrator (in Utilities).

In particular, if you upgrade from a version before 4.0.012, all Security Administrator access settings for Dislikes/Preferences will have to be reassigned for all users, because the Preferences feature has been greatly expanded.

If you upgrade from a version before 3.0.180, you will require training on the changes in Menu Planning functionality: menu cycles and meal food lists.

The Notes for Security Administrator section indicates which new options (if any) require the granting of access.

o New Notice (for version 7.2.100):

If you use Tray Monitor , open the Security Administration Edit User Privileges option in Tray Monitor and make sure that each user is set up so that both Tray Tracking and All Trays are "Enabled" and "Visible."

o If you have Enteral Nutrition Support, please note that the Saved Select access settings

(as set on the Security Administrator Privileges tab) do not apply to the Generate Enterals option.

o If NSS is deployed using Citrix or Terminal Services, do not use Print Preview for

personal menus, shelf menus, tray tickets, labels, or the Label Service Report. Using Print Preview creates temporary files in the shared directory on the server, which may result in a concurrency problem with multiple users.

o If "Show Nutrition" is set to Yes in Other NSS Settings, it takes longer for NSS to open, as the system loads all nutrient data into memory for quick access when needed.

o In this version, when you view or change a patient's nutrient goal in the Personal Goal Editor (in the card file), the Diet Restriction Goal appears blank if the goal source is System Default.

o Please note that a Supplement item will appear on a label only if there is a check in the "Print on Labels" checkbox on the item's Nutrition Services tab in Item Maintenance. The "Print on Labels" checkbox on the Meal Food List (Service tab) no longer has any effect for Supplements.

o Do not use the Course Requirement Level fixing feature without consultation and training from CBORD.

General CBORD Solution Number

New Features and Enhancements

Created a pane in the main FSS window that can display announcements from CBORD.

The announcements provide news of importance to CBORD clients and can include links to Web sites. Where appropriate, a particular message may appear only when the corresponding system option is selected from the tree list on the left of the window (for example, a notice about the Transfer Price Matrix appears only if you select the Production option).

A new setting, "Hide CBORD Announcements for non-System Admins," has been added to System Settings (under General Settings). If it is set to Yes, the announcements are invisible to any user unless he/she has been designated as a System Administrator (in the FSS Security Administration option).

When the Announcements pane is visible, you can re-size it for your convenience.

0025187

Enhanced the feature that enables you to save and reuse queries.

Now:

A user who is designated as a system administrator (in the Security Administrator option) can create "global" saved queries that are available for use by all users. A user who is not a system administrator can create saved queries, but they are not global -- they are available for use only by the user who created them (and by the system administrator). Each user can use, change, save, or delete any of the queries that she/he has saved. She/He can use any global saved queries but cannot save any changes to them or delete them (unless she/he is a system administrator). A system administrator can make changes to any user's saved query and can also make it global, so that all users can use it.

Note: While a system administrator modifies or deletes a saved query, no one else should be using that query.

Changes

Added internal checks so that you can no longer save a transfer requisition or a transfer requisition template unless its To Unit is different from its From Unit.

If you try to save, a warning message explains that on a transfer req the To Unit and the From Unit cannot be the same.

(If the To Unit and From Unit are the same, it is an issue requisition rather than a transfer requisition.)

As part of the upgrade to version 7.2.100, the requisition type of any existing requisition whose To Unit is the same as its From Unit will be Issue (even if it was Transfer before the upgrade).

Items CBORD Solution Number

New Features and Enhancements Nutrition Item Maintenance: Added the ability to view (or, for a new item, enter) a nutritional item's nutrient values for any sample size, not just a 100-gram sample.

Note: When you Save or close the window, all data are converted to be based on a 100-gram sample.

If you create a new nutritional item, you can enter any Quantity and select any of the standard weight units (Ounce, Pound, Gram, Kilogram, Milligram) in the Unit box. (Previously you had to accept the default Quantity/Unit values: 100 Gram.)

For an existing nutritional item, you can change the Unit entry in the Nutrition Item Maintenance window, then change the Quantity. The system automatically recalculates the nutritional data in the Selected Nutrients pane.

Example: A nutrition item's Quantity/Unit entries are 100 Gram, and the data in the Selected Nutrients pane show that its PROTEIN TOTAL is 3.0 grams and its CARB TOTAL is 34.0 grams. You change the Quantity/Unit entries to 8 Ounce. The Selected Nutrients pane displays new nutritional data: PROTEIN TOTAL = 6.8 grams and CARB TOTAL = 77.2 grams. Each nutrient entry is 2.27 times what it was before, because the 8 Ounces = 227 grams = 2.27 times 100 grams.

As part of the change in the Nutrition Item Maintenance window, the bottom row of the window's upper pane now shows you the number of grams in your Quantity/Unit entries. In the example above, the row displays "227 Grams."

[Cases 0081634, 0124798, 0129495, 0436675]

Item Book Reports: Enhanced the Item Book -- Detailed Listing (Standard Item Book) report so that it never rounds the Recipe Yield value.

Previously, the report sometimes rounded the Recipe Yield to a whole number.

[Case 0462690]

0024979

Other Changes Item Maintenance: Improved the Container Size box on the POS & Labels subtab of the Service tab so that there is a scroll bar on the drop-down list of choices.

The list displays only 6 choices at a time, so the scroll bar is helpful if there are more than 6 units of measure available as Container Sizes. (Previously, the only way to see the additional choices was to use the Down Arrow key.)

[Case 0468334]

0025239

Item Maintenance: Enhanced the "view" named av_fms_general_item_default so that it includes Handling Loss (handling_loss) and Evaporation Loss (evaporative_loss) data, in addition to the entries in the other fields on the Scaling and Yields subtab of the Production tab.

0025161

Item Maintenance: Fixed the "Exclude from Recipe’s Nutritional Analysis when used as an Ingredient" feature on the Nutrition tab (and in the Recipe Information window and the Detail Properties window for a recipe ingredient).

Previously, this feature was not working.

Now it works correctly: if a non-recipe item has a check mark in the "Exclude from Recipe’s Nutritional Analysis when used as an Ingredient" checkbox (or the "Exclude from Nutritional Analysis" checkbox in Recipe Information), then:

when the system calculates a nutritional analysis of the recipe it does not include this ingredient’s nutrients or its weight contribution the system does not mark the recipe’s nutrient analysis as incomplete if it finds no nutrient information for this ingredient.

This feature is especially appropriate for packaging material, plastic eating utensils, a garnish that is not eaten, etc.

Ingredient Substitution: Fixed a problem that occurred if you used the Ingredient Substitution option and selected a New Unit and a New Qty for the replacement item.

In previous versions, the system made the replacements but did not properly adjust the new ingredient's quantity in each recipe.

That has been corrected.

0025327

NetHIMS CBORD Solution Number

New Features and Enhancements

Made it easier to set up NetHIMS on a mobile device.

Adding NetHIMS to a mobile device consists of installing a Launcher file. The first time you run the Launcher file on the mobile device, a screen prompt asks you for the URL of your Web server. With that information, the device retrieves the NetHIMS application and configures it for use.

0025360

Added the ability to manage NetHIMS users (create users and assign access rights) from within FSS. previously, the NetMenu Security Administrator was needed.

0025375

NetHIMS: Created the infrastructure for access control of NetHIMS features. There is a new NetHIMS tab in the Security Maintenance window (in the Security Administrator).

In future versions this tab will be used to control a user's access to NetHIMS options.

In this version the tab has no effect.

0025330

Other Changes

Changed the display so that you do not see icons and options for modules that you do not have.

For example, if you do not have the Purchasing module, you do not see the Purchasing icon. If you are not logged in as a system administrator, you do not see the UPC option.

0025332

Made internal changes to ensure that if you specify a sort sequence for the items on an inventory tally in FSS or NetMenu, that sort sequence is preserved when you open the tally in NetHIMS. (If you then add an item to the tally in NetHIMS, that item is added at the bottom of the tally, after the existing items.)

0025335

Fixed the executable file that enables you to use NetHIMS on mobile devices that do not have scanning capabilities (non-Symbol devices). The executable file did not work properly in version 7.1.100.

0025336

The CBORD Group, Inc. | Release Notes for Version 7.2.100

Rewrote the message that appears if you try to launch the NetHIMS application but there is no connection to a service. The new message is clearer and easier to understand.

0025333

Fixed a problem that caused item information to "disappear" from the Inventory Detail window.

In a previous version of NetHIMS, the problem occurred after the following sequence of actions:

with an inventory tally open, scan a UPC whose unit of measure (U of M) is not on the tally; after the item is added to the storage location, click More(...) and select a different U of M.

The Inventory Detail window no longer shows the item description and U of M.

This problem no longer occurs.

0025334

NetHIMS: Removed the Cancel button that appeared while NetHIMS was saving changes. The system cannot cancel during a save or during other data processing.

0025338

Nutrition Services (NSS) CBORD Solution Number

New Features and Enhancements

Card File: Added the ability to copy diet orders -- that is, to assign a new diet order to a patient by copying the patient's current diet order or a previous one (and then modifying if, as needed). This can save you time and effort.

The Diet Orders window, which opens from the Orders tab in the card file, now has a working Copy button. It has also been expanded to display more information, including a new column for an External ID, which is a Hospital Information System (HIS) ID number.A new setting in Other NSS Settings controls whether the copying includes the patient's personal goal, and another setting controls whether the copying includes an HIS ID number, if there is one.(Both of these settings are set to Yes by default.)

The Copy Diet Orders feature works intuitively, but in any case the Help topic for the Diet Orders window has been completely rewritten to include a detailed description of this feature.

Notes:-- A user can utilize this feature only if given access on the Privileges tab of the Security Administrator (under Person | Admission | Orders | Diet Orders, "Copy Diet Order" is now one of the "Actions").-- Because the Diet Orders window has been expanded, the window will not reflect

Tray Service: Added the ability to choose the font (typeface) and the font size to be used in printing the food and beverage items on tray tickets.

There are two new settings in the Tray Tickets section of Other NSS Settings: "Font Size for Foods on Tray Tickets" and "Font (Typeface) for Foods on Tray Tickets." You can choose among six font sizes (6, 8, 9, 10, 12, or 14 points) and five typefaces (Arial, Courier, Courier New, MS Sans Serif, or MS Serif).

This enhancement fulfills a high-priority request of the CBORD User Advisory Council (UAC).

[Also at least 60 individual client cases]

0003175

Labels: Added the ability to list multiple foods on a custom label. In the Create Label Panel option, you can now add multiple Label Item Placeholders to a custom label panel.

This enhancement fulfills a high-priority request of the CBORD User Advisory Council (UAC).

[Also at least 30 individual client cases]

0003823

Tray Service (custom labels), Room Service; Service Settings: Added the ability to list the start time of the diet order on a printed room service ticket, label, or menu.

Diet Order Start Time is now one of the picklist choices for room service tickets (Settings | Service | Create Room Service Tickets), meal panels (Settings | Menus | Create Meal Panels), and custom labels (Settings | Service | Create Label Panel).

Card File: Moved and expanded the Allergy area of the card file header so that it lists a patient's allergies in red (rather than just displaying the word "Allergy").

Note: The card file header can display only one line of allergy restrictions. You can always view a patient's full list of allergy restrictions in the Orders tab's Allergies window, which has a scroll bar.

This enhancement fulfills a high-priority request of the CBORD User Advisory Council (UAC).

0023886

Population Reports: Enhanced the Missed Meals Report so that you can choose whether to include patients who refused a meal.

We added a "Show Refused Meal Patients" checkbox to the report's selector window.

[Case 0413815, 0458937]

Tray Service: Added the ability to produce a Tally Report, a Service Menu Production Tally, or a Service Menu Actual Tally that does not list any foods with 0 (zero) as the Quantity.

There is a new "Hide food with zero count" checkbox in the Tally report window and the Service Menu Tally window (when Production or Actual is selected as the tally type in the Update box).

[Cases 0457209, 0459293, 0462480, 0462487, 0462488, 0462489]

0024727

Tray Service: Enhanced the Service Audit Log to make it a better trouble-shooting tool. It now includes more details of the pattern fixing process that took place.

The report now shows what occurred at each "pass" through the fixing steps. For each pass, it is now organized by "fixing concept" (following the sequence set in the Fixing Concept Settings window).

Also, for each fixing action, the report now lists the dietary exchange or Preference Statement that prompted the action.

0025190

Room Service: Added the ability to have a patient's allergy information show up in red on a room service ticket. This requires having a thermal printer for room service tickets, specifying color printing in the printer driver software, and loading the ticket printer with red/black thermal paper.

To turn on this feature, use a new setting in the Room Service section in Other NSS Settings, "Print Allergy Text in Red Font Color on Room Service Tickets."

0025182

Room Service: Enhanced the upper right part of the Room Service window, where the patient's diet order is displayed for each meal.

Now, if the diet order is pending (that is, its start time is after the current time but before the diet order cutoff time for the meal period), the word "(Pending)" appears before the diet order name (restriction code). If you hover with the mouse over the diet order restriction code, a "bubble" lists the diet order's start time onscreen (for example: Order Start Time: Jul 14 2009 02:30PM).

[Cases 0432469, 0446931, 0460204, 0467814]

0024707

Enhanced the print procedures so that many more non-letter characters in item names can appear on personal menus, shelf menus, enteral labels, custom labels, and room service tickets. For example, the print procedure can now handle any of the following characters in an item name: & (ampersand), ~ (tilde), ' (single quote mark), " (double quote mark). It could already handle many non-letter characters, such as % (percent sign), ! (exclamation point), and numerals (1, 2, 3, and so on.).

Note: Be careful to avoid confusion in using such characters. For example, a name that includes a dollar sign ($) can be confused with a price; do not use an asterisk (*) in a name, because that can be confused with a footnote mark on a printed report.

[Case 0462437]

Meal Period Groups: Enhanced the window that lets you edit a Meal Period Group (in Settings).

The window now has a Sort Number column where you can control the sequence of meal period groups in NSS drop-down lists -- for example, in the Tally Report selector window -- by assigning sort order numbers. Having a predictable display sequence of Meal Period Groups may be important if you use AutoMate scripts.

For your reference, the window also shows the list of Meal Periods and their sort order numbers (as maintained in the Meal Settings window in FSS Service Settings).

[Case 0465762]

0025134, 0025362

Other Changes

Enhanced several views so they report either the served location (retherm, galley, nursing station) when a tray ticket has printed, or the patient's location at the time a Tray Service function was run but a tray ticket was not printed.

These views are av_nss_mealstats_day, av_nss_mealstats_month, av_nss_mealstats_with_dates, av_srv_patientmealstatus, av_srv004_patient_meal_cost, and av_srv006_sysmodifiedmeals.

Note: You do not have to change any queries that are based on these views, because in each view the number of columns and the column names did not change.

0024753

Population Reports: Closed a loophole so that the Diet Order Change Report appropriately lists all transferred patients.

In previous versions, the report did not list a patient as a room transfer in the following situation: the patient changed rooms but was then included in a tally or another process that updated the patient's Selections tab entries in the card file.

Now the Diet Order Change Report correctly lists as a transferred patient anyone whose current room/dining location (at the time the report is printed) differs from their room/dining location on the printed tray ticket for the selected meal.

[Case 0457732]

0024753

Enteral Nutrition Support: Expanded the area allotted for displaying the patient's MRN on the Enteral Formula List report.

0025188

Page 14

The CBORD Group, Inc. | Release Notes for Version 7.2.100

In previous versions, the last character of a long MRN could be truncated (depending on the font and the width of the characters in the MRN). That will no longer occur.

Tray Service, Enteral Nutrition Support: Changed the caption on the box in the upper right corner of the Labels window and the Generate Enterals window.

The caption is now "Select Format," which is appropriate for both situations: printing labels and printing enteral labels.

0025247

Card File: Fixed the way NSS updates the Source column on the Selections subtab of the Selections tab.

In previous versions, if you manually changed an item's Quantity entry on the subtab (but made no other changes), no change was made to the Source entry. This made trouble-shooting more difficult, as it was harder to trace the change.

Now the system changes the Source entry to "Card File," to indicate the manual change.

[Cases 0463503, 0464680]

0025038

Card File: Fixed a rare problem that prevented opening a card file record for a patient with a particular internal data condition (admitevent_intid =0).

[Case 0464003]

0025051

Other NSS Settings: Fixed a problem that prevented the "Number of Lines Reserved for Food Items" option from showing up in the Tray Tickets section of Other NSS Settings in version 7.0.100.

It is now visible.

[Case 0465657]

0025079

Population Reports: Fixed the Advance Ticket Diet Order Change Report so that it does not waste paper.

Starting with version 6.10.100, it was printing an extra page showing just an asterisk.

The extra page has been eliminated.

[Case 0466273]

0025202

ETM with NSS: Improved ETM error reporting. Now for many situations that result in error messages, the displayed message explains where a problem occurred (for example: "Unable to establish a connection to the database" or "Invalid input file for transaction type ___").

This will help greatly in trouble-shooting.

Purchasing CBORD Solution Number

New Features and Enhancements

Edit Vendor Items: Added an "Activation Date" column to the Edit Vendor Items window.

A vendor item's Activation Date is the date when it was first added to the vendor catalog. (The Activation Date was shown in the Vendor Catalogs window, which was replaced by the Edit Vendor Items window in version 7.1.100.)

0025087

Other Changes

Order Schedules, Requirements Worksheets, Other Purchasing Settings: Fixed a quirk that affected the way FSS handled delivery lead days for vendors.

In previous versions, if you set "Order Schedules & Req WS: Number of Delivery Lead Days" in Other Purchasing Settings, but even one vendor had 0 (zero) as the Lead Days entry (on the Delivery tab in the vendor's Vendor Information window), FSS treated all vendors as having 0 delivery lead days (disregarding the "Order Schedules & Req WS: Number of Delivery Lead Days" setting).

That has been corrected. Now the system respects the "Order Schedules & Req WS: Number of Delivery Lead Days" setting, and overrides it only for the individual vendors with a different setting on their Vendor Information window Delivery tabs.

[Case 0469171]

0025322

Order Schedules: Fixed a rare problem that produced an error message if you right-clicked in the header of an order schedule just as it appeared onscreen after being generated. The problem no longer occurs, even under this rare scenario.

New Features and Enhancements

EventMaster PLUS interface: Added the ability to exclude sell price information when items data are exported from FSS to EventMaster PLUS.

There is a new setting in Other Service Settings, "EventMaster Export - Include Price."

When this setting is set to Yes, an export of items data from FSS to EventMaster PLUS includes the items' sell prices (as recorded in FSS). This is the default

setting, and it matches the way the export has been working in previous versions.

When this setting is set to No, sell prices are not included in an export to EventMaster PLUS.

[Cases 0463236, 0463434, 0464071]

Other Changes

Service Menus: Fixed a rare problem that could affect a Forecast service menu when its Customer Count was changed. After the change, clicking elsewhere in the Service Menu window calls up a screen prompt asking if you want to adjust all portion counts based on the new customer count.

In some previous versions, if you answered Yes the behavior was not consistent: sometimes the system carried out the adjustment, but sometimes it did not and displayed an error message when you exited FSS. The inconsistency was based on exactly where in the window you clicked after changing the customer count.

Those problems have been eliminated. If you answer Yes, the portion counts are adjusted correctly.

[Cases 0467198, 0468980]

0025270

Service Menu Maintenance Wizard (for Sybase SQL Anywhere users): Fixed a few related problems that affected the Wizard's Merge Menus function.

Previously, the merge failed (with error messages) if you tried to merge menus and you specified the customer count for the target menu and selected Use Target for the target portion counts.

That has been corrected.

(The problems did not exist for Microsoft SQL Server users).

Utilities CBORD Solution Number

New Features and Enhancements

Interface Reports: Improved the ETM Export Log and ETM Import Log.

The following situations have been added to the report coverage:

the export did not include data that belonged to a service unit, vendor, or other unit because that unit had no assigned CUID. the export or import failed because it did not have access rights to create or write to a destination folder (log directory, import directory, or export directory).

Data Diagnostic Utility (DDU): Added the ability to run DDU from a command line. This makes it possible to use DDU through an AutoMate script.

If you're interested in this feature, ask CBORD Technical Support for the correct command line syntax and options.

[Case 0341134]

0020501

Data Diagnostic Utility (DDU): Added a new utility to the DDU window. It is named "Duplicate/Unowned Item Notes," and it finds any general item that, due to data corruption, has more than one item note, or has an "unowned" item note (= a note not assigned to any unit of the facility).

When you select this utility and click Run, the Results field lists the "number of occurrences found" -- that is, the number of items which have more than one item note or have an unowned note.

Use the Fix feature to eliminate the duplicates. For each pair of duplicate item notes, the system preserves the one that was created first and deletes the later one. For each unowned note, the system assigns an owner unit -- the unit that the item itself belongs to.

[Cases 0383585, 0406640, 0417089]

0022296

Data Diagnostic Utility (DDU): Added a new utility to the DDU window. It is named "Duplicate Base Units of Measure," and it finds any general item that has more than one base unit of measure, due to data corruption.

When you select this utility and click Run, the Results field lists the "number of occurrences found" -- that is, the number of instances of duplicate base units of measure. Then, if you click in the Results field, a tab-delimited file opens that lists the particular items that have this problem.

Use the Fix feature to eliminate the duplicates. For each pair of duplicate item names, the system preserves the one that was created first and deletes the later one.

0025235

Data Diagnostic Utility (DDU): Added a new utility to the DDU window. It is named "Duplicate Item UofM Description/Key Name," and it finds any general item that has two or more units of measure (U of M) that are identical or that look identical (for example, one might have an extra space character in its name).

When you select this utility and click Run, the Results field lists the "number of occurrences found" -- that is, the number of items which have duplicate units of measure.

Use the Fix feature to eliminate the duplicates. For each pair of duplicate U of M, the system preserves the one that was created first and changes the later one by adding an ID number at the end.

Data Diagnostic Utility (DDU): Enhanced the Phantom Receipts utility by adding information to the display you see when you click Results.

Now, for each occurrence, the Results display identifies each item that was incorrectly marked as "received" (and whose on-hand quantity was incorrectly increased) due to a phantom received order.

In addition to the receive date of the phantom receipt and the name of the unit that received phantom delivery, the display includes each item's name and key name, plus the purchase unit and phantom received quantity.

[Case 0447656]

0024434

ETM: Improved the Export ETM Transactions and Import ETM Transactions options so that a screen message clearly explains if an import directory or export directory cannot be created or accessed for some reason (for example, the path doesn't exist or the user doesn't have permission).

0025246

ETM: Refined the ETM import process so that it sets a new price for an item based on the received price on an imported received order.

0025089

ETM: Enhanced the import procedure for service menus by adding validation checks for menu-specific overrides.

[Case 0464817]

0025147

ETM with NSS: Improved ETM error reporting. Now for many situations that result in error messages, the displayed message explains where a problem occurred (for example: "Unable to establish a connection to the database" or "Invalid input file for transaction type ___").

This will help greatly in trouble-shooting.

0025369

Other Changes

Run End of Day Process: Fixed a problem that could cause an End of Day Process (EOD) to leave out the Recipe Recost procedure or the Nutritionally Analyze Recipes procedure even when it was scheduled for inclusion.

The problem occurred only when only one of these procedures was scheduled for EOD (through the Recipe Recost Frequency setting or the Nutritional Analysis Frequency setting in End of Day Settings, which is part of the General Settings option), and the other had never been scheduled for EOD inclusion.

The problem has been corrected. Now either procedure can be included in an EOD run, regardless of whether the other one is scheduled.

Notes for Security Administrator:

To be able to use a newly added system option, you must grant access in the Security Administrator. For example, access to the "Copy Diet Orders" feature is granted to a user on the Privileges tab (under Person | Admission | Orders | Diet Orders).

Notes for Users of AutoMate:

Starting with version 7.2.100, you can run the Data Diagnostic Utility (DDU) from a command line, and you can control the display sequence of meals and meal periods in NSS lists. These changes make it easier to use Automate scripts.

Note that, starting with 5.1 versions, the title of the main FSS window has changed to “[Foodservice Suite]”.Also, for all 5.x and 6.x versions of FSS and NSS, the development environment is PowerBuilder 10, whereas it was PowerBuilder 8 for all 4.x versions.

These changes affect all AutoMate scripts that use any of the following AutoMate functionality: Move Mouse to Object , Select Item , Press , and Wait for Window .

If you are upgrading from 4.0.140.3, you will have to edit all such scripts so they include

ETM: Slightly modified the sequence of events in an ETM import, for better logical flow.

Now vendor categories are imported immediately before vendor items, so that the categories are available when the vendor item data are received.

0025325

ETM: Fixed a problem that caused an import to fail if the imported data included Vendor Categories but the importing site did not "own" any vendors.

Now the import succeeds, and a message explains that no Vendor Categories were imported because the site has no owned vendors.

0025100

ETM: Fixed a problem that could make the screen message window stay open when an ETM export of nutritional data or NSS data did not complete because there were no data to export.

The problem has been corrected, and the screen message window now closes appropriately.

0025183

ETM: Fixed a rare problem that could affect an ETM import of recipes.

Previously, the import procedure could not handle a recipe if one of its ingredients had a Common Name override (for that recipe) that included the two-character combination ", (double-quote, followed by a comma).

Now the import can recognize and handle that situation.

Page 21: Release Notes for Version 7.2 - Client Login · The CBORD Group, Inc. | Release Notes for Version 7.2.100 ... Sybase SQL Anywhere 9.0.2.3804 (formerly called Sybase Adaptive Server

The CBORD Group, Inc. | Release Notes for Version 7.2.100If you are upgrading from 4.0.140.3, you will have to edit all such scripts so they include the new information.

Using AutoMate with NSS 5.2.100, we found a problem in calling the Tray Service icon: a script that used the Send Keystrokes functionality did not succeed, because the Enter key had no effect on that icon. We have not found this problem with other icons, but cannot rule it out at this time.

If you have a script that uses Send Keystrokes , we recommend testing it. You may have to rewrite some lines.

Have you set passwords to automatically expire (through Security Settings in the Security Administrator)?

If so, that will affect any script that involves a password (for example, a password for Run End of Day Process.) You may wish to designate the automated "user" who runs your scripts with the "Password Never Expires" feature (on the User tab of the Security Administrator window).

NOTE: The most reliable way to identify a step in an AutoMate script is to type the name of the option or feature you want to use. The position of an icon in a list or on the screen changes with the system version – and may also change if you switch the visual display to Windows XP style -- so it is not a reliable identifier. Instead, use the type-to-find feature: in Listview control, type the first letter(s) of the name of the icon (or other choice) you want AutoMate to select.

For those whose scripts use the “unreliable” approach, the following list shows where in the CBORD system the icon sequence has changed. Such changes may require changes in your AutoMate scripts. In some cases, if you do not want an icon to appear, you can use the Security Administrator to make it unavailable.

Some users report that the "select object" function in AutoMate is no longer available. If you have any scripts that use this function, you must rewrite them to use an alternate approach.

CBORD recommends that Automate scripts be executed from a workstation and not from the server. If you must execute from the server, then be advised that If you use AutoMate with a 5.x version of FSS or NSS, some users have reported issues when executing on a Windows 2000 Server. Such issues have not been reported with machines running Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP Professional. Some users have reported a solution to this problem on Windows 2000 servers by applying the Microsoft Active Accessibility 2.0 patch available here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9b14f6e1-888a-4f1d-b1a1-da08ee4077df&DisplayLang=en .

Recommendation: Script AutoMate to minimize all windows before starting FSS. Otherwise FSS can open "behind" a full-screen window that is already open, and AutoMate's "view" of the FSS window will be blocked.
