Objectives of APMPObjectives of APMP

1. To develop and maintain collaborative networks that allow members to  share strategic initiatives for informing stakeholders and improving  regional measurement policies and investment decisions.

2. To improve the capabilities and effectiveness of member NMIs, particularly  in developing economies, through awareness raising, training and coordination of aid donors.

3. To improve the provision of traceability to all users within economies.

4. To ensure that all NMI standards in the  region are traceable to the SI.

5. To support scientific collaboration on measurements for new technologies.  and to contribute to the ongoing development of the SI through the Metre  Convention.

Regional comparisons

CCTF‐K001.UTC is the only key comparison for time and frequency, and all Member States  participate in this key comparison.

RMOs can also run regional comparisons for time and frequency, which assists non‐Member  States to link to the SI.

Supplementary comparisons are needed to establish the internal delay of time transfer equipment  (e.g. GPS receiver calibrations). These are also run within regions (CCTF 2009 Recommendation 2),  which assists Member States to reduce transfer uncertainty (uB ) when linking their UTC(k) to UTC.

Regional workshops and seminars

Asia‐Pacific Workshop on Time and Frequency held every 2–3 yearsATF2010 held jointly with the AP‐RASC'10 meeting in Toyama, JapanATF2013 to be held jointly with the AP‐RASC'13 meeting in Taipei

These meetings are an opportunity for APMP members to present recent  research, provide status updates, and build collaborations

APMP Time and Frequency SeminarHeld immediately before the 2007 APMP meetings in Sydney, Australia

APMP members shared their experience in operating time and frequency  laboratories and calibration services. Funding agencies provided support to  allow more member NMIs to attend.
